Abstract

This study investigated the misapplication of the simple past tense formula by 43 students who attended the Basic English course at the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Bina Sarana Informatics University. The research data was obtained from the analysis of participants' recount text writing exercises to evaluate their ability to understand the formula. The research method applied is qualitative descriptive. Research findings show one common mistake that often arises, namely in the use of sentence elements that do not conform to the simple past tense formula. The error comes from students' negligence and lack of accuracy when completing assignments, as well as the tendency to mix past tense formulas with other tenses. Data collection is carried out through direct observation of student activities. The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of common mistakes in the application of simple past tense formulas, especially in the context of teaching basic English in a university environment.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of instilling nationalist values ​​in elementary school students through social studies learning with a focus on material on the development of Indonesian independence. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of learning methods in increasing students' understanding of the development of Indonesian independence and measuring its impact on the development of nationalist values. The research method uses a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that the implementation of nationalist values ​​can be applied by teachers in daily life at school. Effective learning methods can increase students' understanding of the development of Indonesian independence and significantly strengthen their nationalist values. This research provides guidance for educators in designing curricula that promote understanding of national history and shape students' characters with a strong spirit of patriotism and nationalism. Thus, implementing social studies learning with a focus on material on the development of Indonesian independence can play an important role in educating the younger generation who love and respect national values.

Abstract

Kajian ini mengkaji sikap diplomasi Indonesia di tengah meningkatnya ketegangan antara Amerika Serikat dan Tiongkok terkait pakta pertahanan AUKUS di kawasan Indo-Pasifik. Berfokus pada upaya Indonesia untuk menjaga netralitas dan stabilitas regional, penelitian ini menggali seluk-beluk pengambilan kebijakan luar negerinya. Analisis ini mengeksplorasi komitmen Indonesia terhadap kebijakan luar negeri yang bebas dan aktif, dengan menekankan keengganan Indonesia untuk bersekutu dengan blok kekuatan tertentu. Menelaah implikasi perjanjian AUKUS, penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pendekatan kehati-hatian Indonesia dalam menyeimbangkan hubungannya dengan Amerika Serikat dan Tiongkok. Dengan menggunakan teori pengambilan keputusan, penelitian ini membedah respons Indonesia dengan mempertimbangkan faktor psikologis, internasional, dan domestik. Laporan ini menguraikan posisi diplomatik yang diambil oleh para pemimpin Indonesia dalam forum seperti KTT ASEAN-Australia, dan menyoroti kekhawatiran mengenai potensi persaingan regional yang dipicu oleh AUKUS. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menegaskan kembali kepatuhan Indonesia terhadap kebijakan luar negeri yang netral namun tetap aktif, dan menunjukkan upaya Indonesia untuk menjaga kepentingan nasional tanpa terlibat dalam meningkatnya ketegangan geopolitik antara negara-negara besar di Indo-Pasifik.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the ability of prospective student educators in compiling learning tool components in the form of lesson plans, components of classroom learning implementation, personality and social components. The research method chosen in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with the data sources used being lesson plans prepared by students, learning videos carried out by practical students, and interviews to look at personality and social components. Abstract

Ethics is morals, while communication in the Qur’an means that humans are given instructions by Allah SWT to communicate well so that they can explain the meaning of something. The aim of this research is to dig deeper into the meaning contained in Surah Ar-Rahman verses 1-4 according to the views of Ibnu Katsir and Al Misbah. The research method used is the library research method using an interpretive approach (Ibnu Katsir and Al-Misbah). The data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The results of the discussion in the Al-Qur’an Surah Ar-Rahman verses 1-4 in both commentaries, namely Ibn Kathir and Al Misbah, are that both discuss the meaning of Bayan. In Ibn Kathir’s Tafsir, the meaning of Bayan means speaking. Because siyaq is in the teaching of the Koran by Allah Ta’ala, namely how to read it. And this happens by making it easier to pronounce the articulation, as well as making it easier for the letters to come out through their respective paths from the throat, tongue and two lips according to the variety of articulations and types of letters. Meanwhile, the meaning of Bayan in Tafsir Al-Misbah Al-Bayan Teaching is not only limited to speech, but includes all forms of expression, including art and facial expressions. In fact, according to Al-Biqa’I, the word Al-Bayan is the potential for thinking, namely knowing kulli and juz’I issues, assessing the visible and also the unseen and making an analogy with the visible. Once with signs, another time with calculations, a third time with predictions and the next time with looking at the universe and other ways, while distinguishing between good and bad or something like that. This all carries with it the potential to decipher something hidden and explain and teach it to others. Once with words, other times with deeds, with speech, writing, gestures, etc. In this way, humans are able to perfect themselves and at the same time perfect others.

Abstract

Private Islamic universities increasingly emphasize the importance of integrating Islam, science and culture in their curriculum and campus life. This model aims to create a balanced learning environment, combining Islamic values with science and local culture. The structured curriculum offers a holistic approach, strengthening Islamic identity in forming students' character. Through religious, scientific and cultural activities, students are actively involved in character formation and developing practical skills. Continuous evaluation and monitoring are key in ensuring the effectiveness of this integration, while active engagement with the community strengthens the contribution of universities to community development. Thus, the integration of Islam, science and culture in private Islamic universities provides a strong foundation for the formation of holistic and globally competitive individuals with a strong identity.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a product in the form of learning media based on Microsoft PowerPoint that has been validated. The research method used is research and development or in English Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the Borg and Gall design development model. The data sources for this research are the results of observations, interviews, expert validation, student responses, and documentation during the use of Microsoft PowerPoint-based learning media. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and questionnaires. The research results show that the process of developing learning media based on Microsoft PowerPoint has gone through 7 research steps, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, revision, testing, and revision of the final product. The level of suitability of the learning media developed is very good from the design and material aspects with an average value of 3.33 and 3.78 and the product trial results are very good with an average value of 3.53 and 3.88.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of applying PowerPoint on learning outcomes in thematic learning for class III students at Elementary School 11 East Pontianak. The research method used is experimentation in the form of quasi experimental design. The research population was 27 students in class III A and 27 students in class III B. The data collection technique used is a measurement technique and the data collection tool is a test in the form of an essay with 12 questions. Based on data analysis, the average final test for the experimental class = 66.27 and the average for the final test for the control class = 54.8. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test obtained tcount = 7.86621, while dk (27+27-2 =52) with the level (α = 5%) obtained ttable = 0.6840, which means tcount > ttable. So Ha accepted. Based on the results of the effect size (ES) calculation, the ES value = 1.85. Thus it can be concluded that the application of PowerPoint in thematic learning has an influence on the learning outcomes of class III students at State Elementary School 11 East Pontianak by 96%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine (1) the influence of using the internet on the learning achievement of Economic Education students at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta (2) determine the effect of using digital libraries on the learning achievement of Economic Education students at Sebelas Maret University (3) determine the influence of using the internet as a learning and library resource digital simultaneously on the learning achievements of Sebelas Maret University Economic Education students. This research uses a quantitative descriptive type of research with a population of 352 Economic Education students class 20, 21, and 22. And sample set at 200 samples was taken using proportional random sampling. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire and was processed using SPSS 25. The result of research prove that (1) the use of the internet as a learning resource has a positive effect on the learning achievement of Economic Education students at Sebelas Maret University (2) the use of digital libraries has a positive effect on the learning achievement of Economic Education students at Sebelas Maret University (3) the use of the internet as a resource learning and digital libraries jointly influence the learning achievement of Economics Education students at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta.

Abstract

Reading is something that is important for students who are able and fluent because reading can develop writing skills and by reading as a tool for children to memorize and give lessons again. This article is the result of research into the teacher's problems in teaching reading and the obstacles that hinder the use of reading methods such as the spelling m ethod, syllable method, word method, global method, alphabetic method and SAS method. This research was conducted with interviews and interactive model analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman. The role of the mother and the school is of course very much needed in the fluency of reading students, the mother is the first school for her children including in terms of teaching speaking, recognizing letters and numbers and schools are influential in providing facilities and infrastructure for teachers and students such as providing facilities that comfortable and provide media that makes students more interested in learning.
