Abstract

Numeracy is a skill needed in the 21st century. Numeracy skills are also the focus of the Independent Curriculum. One thing that can be used as an alternative for developing student numeracy is differentiated learning. In differentiated learning, there is differentiation of content, process, and product models. Therefore, this research aims to determine the differentiation of content, processes, and products oriented toward developing numeracy skills at SDN 1 Sapit, West Lombok. This research approach is qualitative with a phenomenological type. This research also involved one grade 1 teacher and six students as subjects. Data was collected through observation and interviews. The results of this research indicate that differences in students' ability levels determine differences in content, processes, and products in the learning process. Apart from that, the differences in methods also determine the guidance teachers can provide to facilitate students' diverse abilities.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is one of the five fundamental mathematical abilities that students need to master. The ability of mathematical reasoning is required by students to solve numeracy literacy problems. One of the factors influencing students' mathematical reasoning abilities is their reflective-impulsive cognitive style. This research aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving numeracy literacy problems in terms of the reflective-impulsive cognitive style. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with 6 students from class 9B at SMP Al Falah Ketintang Surabaya selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments include the MFFT cognitive style test sheet, numeracy literacy test sheet, and an interview guide that has been validated by three validators. Data analysis techniques involve data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that the mathematical reasoning abilities of students with a reflective cognitive style, particularly in the indicator of performing mathematical manipulations, are not yet well fulfilled. Similarly, the mathematical reasoning abilities of students with an impulsive cognitive style, especially in the indicator of constructing evidence and providing reasons/evidence for the correctness of the solution, are not yet well fulfilled. The mathematical reasoning abilities of students with both reflective and impulsive cognitive styles in solving numeracy literacy problems are more dominant in the moderate and low categories.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the low numeracy of students in statistics courses, which contradicts the importance of numeracy. For this reason, an integrated statistics e-module with a flipbook and augmented reality was developed with the aim that, through learning using this e-module, it can improve student numeracy. The use of flipbooks and augmented reality programs as an effort to integrate knowledge, pedagogy, and technology in an effort to improve numeracy. This research used quantitative methods, with the subjects being 58 students in statistics courses. The paired two-sample t-test technique was used to analyze the increase in numeracy through e-module learning. The data were analyzed with the help of the SPSS 21 for Windows program. The research results showed that there was an increase in student numeracy after using the e-module, with a significance value of 0.00 < 5% with t = -5.23> -t0.05, so learning using the statistics e-module integrated with flipbooks and augmented reality can improve student numeracy. Abstract

This research aims to measure the mathematics abilities of junior high school students using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The research method used is descriptive quantitative using meta analysis. The research mapped was obtained from journal articles, theses, theses and dissertations published between 2010 and 2020 with the help of publish or perish software as an article collection application. The research article meta-analysis technique uses the JASP 0.14.1.0 application to further interpret the heterogeneity, aggregate, bias detection, forrest and funnel plot tests. The results of the research show that the mathematics ability of Indonesian junior high school students is 74 on a scale of 0 -100. This aggregate was obtained from heterogeneous previous research results with a high category deviation index which is possible for bias. Strengthening bias was also obtained from the Rank correlation test and Regression test for Funnel plot asymmetry ("Egger's test") which showed that the p-value <0.05 and funnel plot results which did not show that the data represented a range of mathematical ability scores. This means that data from previous research shows that Problem Based Learning is indicated to have biased data that cannot generalize the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of this learning method. Researchers should publish the results of this PBL research even if the results obtained are not as expected.

Abstract

This study aimed to scrutinize the effectiveness of the DMR (Diskursus Multy Reprecentacy) model with Question Box media in bolstering the mathematical representation abilities of eighth-grade students. A quasi-experimental design was employed, engaging 96 students selected via Cluster Random Sampling technique. The effectiveness was evaluated by comparing the DMR model against the conventional expository teaching method using a t-test with a 5% significance level. In this research, data testing uses the SPSS application. Findings revealed that the DMR teaching model assisted by the Question Box media was significantly more effective in enhancing students' mathematical representation skills than the traditional expository model. These findings suggest that the integration of the DMR teaching model with Question Box media could serve as an alternative pedagogical strategy in mathematics education to facilitate a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts among students.

Abstract

Mathematical logical intelligence greatly influences students' ability to solve mathematical problems, especially the ability to analyze logically in solving mathematical problems. This logical-mathematical intelligence is also closely related and has a positive impact on students' mathematical communication skills, both oral and written mathematical communication abilities. Based on the age development, MA students should be able to use logical thinking skills well. Through material students are tested and required to understand questions in the form of story questions to be able to solve the problem by first forming a mathematical model and then developing a plan to solve the problem. Thus, students indirectly get a stimulus to hone their reasoning and communication skills well. This study aims to analyze the mathematical logical intelligence of MA students with high mathematical communication skills on System of Linear Equations in Three Variable at MA Al-Islamiyah I Sumber Batu, Blumbungan, Larangan, Pamekasan. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The research instruments used were test questions and interview guidelines. The results showed that students who have high mathematical logical intelligence also have good competence for oral and written communication and are able to classify, compare, perform calculations correctly, reason deductively, make conclusions and check back according to the indicators in mathematical logical intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to design a learning trajectory for the Three-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLTV) by applying Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) with the context of typical Riau Islands snacks. The research methodology involved three stages, namely preparing for the experiment, design experiment, and retrospective analysis. Data were collected through documentation and interviews, then analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research subjects were 15 3rd semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Riau Islands University. The results of the research are in the form of a hypothetical learning trajectory design in learning SPLTV with the context of typical snacks of the Riau Islands. The learning trajectory begins by linking students' learning experiences with the concepts to be presented. During learning, students apply the SPLTV concept to contextual problems. In the end, they are able to apply the SPLTV concept in different contexts, demonstrating an understanding of the material. This contextualized learning experience plays an important role in improving students' understanding of SPLTV.

Abstract

The mathematical generalization ability of students at one junior high school, especially in Makassar, is relatively low. One alternative to improve students' mathematical generalization abilities is to apply active, collaborative and inductive cooperative learning models. This research aims to determine the difference in the average score of mathematical generalization abilities of students taught through active, collaborative and inductive cooperative learning models, and students taught through cooperative learning models on flat-sided geometric material. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design in class VIII at a junior high school in Makassar, Indonesia. The sample in this study was 35 students in the control group and 31 students in the experimental group. The instrument used is a mathematical generalization ability test. Data were analyzed using the n gain test. Based on the analysis, the average n-gain score for students' mathematical generalization abilities in flat-sided geometric material after being taught by applying active, collaborative and inductive cooperative learning models was 0,51 or experienced a moderate increase and the percentage of learning completeness was 93,55%. Therefore, it can be concluded that junior high school students' mathematical generalization abilities increased after being taught using active, collaborative and inductive cooperative learning models.

Abstract

The PISA 2022 results show that Indonesian students' mathematical literacy scores have decreased again. One of the reasons is that students need more practice working on PISA model questions. This study aims to develop PISA model math problems using the context of Lamban Dalom traditional houses that are valid, practical, and have potential effects. This research used the Design Research method of development study type. The research stages include Preliminary and Formative Evaluation stages (expert review, one-to-one, small group, field test). The research results are a set of mathematical problems of the PISA model of space and shape content with the context of Lampung Lamban Dalom, which is valid in terms of content, construct, and language, practical, and has a potential effect of 5 items. It is applicable based on small group trials and potentially impacts the field test stage. In addition, students also become more challenged to solve similar problems even though the scores obtained still need to meet the criteria for completeness. Future researchers are advised to develop PISA model math problems with different content and contexts further by involving more potential users and conducting trials with more students.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze: Whether or not there is an influence of using the Memorize Trigonometry Fingers teaching aid on the motivation and learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngronggot. Quantitative research, carried out using the normality test, homogeneity test, t test, Mann Whitney U test, r test, Spearman's rho correlation test and determination. Student population of SMA Negeri 1 Ngronggot class X. Sample of students in class X-3 and X-2. Focuses on Trigonometry of special angles in the first quadrant. Hypothesis research results: There is an effectiveness of using the Memorize Trigonometry Fingers teaching aid on learning motivation of 1.6%, including very weak. There is an influence of using the Memorize Trigonometry Fingers teaching aid on learning motivation of r = 0.126, including a low level of relationship. The direction of the relationship is positive, meaning that if the motivation value of the experimental class is high then the motivation value of the control class is high, and vice versa. Hypothesis research results: There is an effectiveness of using the Memorize Trigonometry Fingers teaching aid on learning outcomes of 0.0001%, including very weak. There is an influence of using the Memorize Trigonometry Fingers teaching aid on learning outcomes of -0.567, including a moderate level of relationship. The direction of the relationship is negative, meaning that if the experimental class learning outcomes are high then the control class learning outcomes are low, and vice versa.
