Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the elements of integer counting operations contained in the cat-cat game and to clarify its contribution in the context of mathematics education and preserving local culture. The method in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection carried out through direct observation during the game and focusing on player interactions and the strategies used when playing the kucing-kucing game. The results of the research show that the cat-cat game contains elements of the concept of integer counting operations, namely multiplication, division, addition and subtraction (Kabataku), especially related to the rules of the game using 12 cat-cats and a tennis ball as the tools used in the game. This makes a significant contribution in the context of mathematics education, showing the potential of traditional games as a meaningful learning resource. This research emphasizes the importance of maintaining and introducing traditional games in efforts to preserve cultural heritage and provide interesting learning alternatives for students.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to summarize the experiences of grade 11 students at SMA Negeri 4 Palu based on Newman's theory. This type of research is descriptive, using a qualitative approach. The research subjects were two students selected from 35 class XI students. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) Not a single subject experienced errors in reading the lesson material, because at that time every subject was considered able to read the lesson material correctly. (2) Not a single subject made a mistake in understanding, as seen in the interview phase. All research subjects were able to provide understandable and questionable information regarding the subject. (3) Each research subject carries out transformation error correction. This transformation error is characterized by the failure of a subset that reduces the problem of the mathematical model. (4) Process skills errors were made by each research subject. This is explained by the subject's understanding of the steps taken in answering the question, but most of it is caused by the subject's errors occurring in the transformation step and the subject being unable to solve mathematical problems accurately. (5) an error in writing the final answer (encoding error) was made by each research subject; This is differentiated by the fact that there are subjects who do not determine the final results of their learning and there are also subjects who fail to determine the final results due to errors in the previous stage.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics combines elements of mathematics with the culture and traditions of society. Culture is a complete and comprehensive unity that applies to society, while mathematics is a science that society uses to solve everyday problems. The aim of this research is to find mathematical patterns contained in the traditional game Lompek Kodok and to find out how players use mathematics naturally in the game strategy. Data collected through qualitative research methods, and interviews with elders and trusted people, direct game observation, and analysis of game rules. The first stage of research involves determining the topic and discussion that will be researched, then determining the area that will be used as the search location. After that, design and organize the time needed to complete data collection using interviews and observations. Then record the results of the interview and document them. The next step is data analysis by processing the data obtained and describing the ethnomathematics in the traditional Bengkulu lompek kodok game. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide new insights into how mathematical concepts can be used in local culture through ethnomathematics.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik on students' computational thinking. This research uses the Quasi Experiment Design method with the non-equivalent group design. Hypothesis testing uses the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U Test because the data is not normally distributed. The test was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program. This research was carried out at SMPN 8 Madiun on 4 - 18 September 2023 with geometric transformation material. The population in this study were all class IX students at SMPN 8 Madiun, totaling 219 students. The samples were taken randomly, with 26 class IX A students as the control class and 23 class IX E students as the experimental class. The instrument of this research is a computational thinking test. This test is needed to measure students' CT in learning geometric transformation material after the treatment is given. Before the instrument is administered, validity and reliability are proven. The research results show that based on the "Test Statistics" output in the Mann-Whitney test, it is found that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 is smaller than <0.05 probability value, then Ho is rejected. Thus, there is a difference in students' CT test results between classes with geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik and conventional classes with an average experimental class score of 81.52 and an average conventional class score of 50.46. Because there are significant differences, it can be concluded that there is an influence of geogebra-assisted learning based on Indonesian batik on students' CT.
