Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students. The method used in training is through lectures, discussions, assignments, questions and answers. The presenter delivers psychoeducation about careers to open up insight into the benefits and importance of careers for students, self-awareness to increase self-awareness, Johari window to increase knowledge about oneself, set the goals using the SMART method, reveal one's potential through SWOT analysis, and personality analysis through the RIASEC test to determine the suitability of personality with the desired career. Measurements were carried out twice. The first measurement (pre-test) is carried out before implementing the program to determine the initial conditions for student career decision-making. The second measurement (post-test) is carried out after students receive career training. Next, the results of the pre-test and post-test data were statistically analyzed using a paired-sample t-test using SPSS 23.0 for Windows. The results of the PKM activities carried out show that career planning training is able to increase the career maturity of MA students. Students' understanding of themselves will help them determine their career plans in accordance with their interests and talents.Keyword : career maturity; career training; students

Abstract

Sorghum is an extraordinary commodity because of its waste-free characteristics. Almost all parts of the plant can be used, including leaves, fruit stems, and wilt. Unfortunately, the personnel at the East Suwawa BPP partners and the farmers they support still lack experience in sorghum farming, especially in profit analysis. This is an obstacle in spreading sorghum as an agricultural potential, because extension workers have difficulty providing farmers with an understanding of the benefits of sorghum farming. Therefore, knowledge is needed in carrying out farming analysis, as well as organizing human resources in farmer groups so that they can produce maximum quality and quantity. Through this knowledge and ability, it is hoped that partners can further optimize the dissemination of sorghum farming to the farmers they support so that they can produce sustainably. The methods used in this service activity are training and mentoring. For training activities, farming business analysis and farmer group management were carried out for one day, where the implementing team facilitated training to partners, namely BPP East Suwawa. After the training activities, students in the implementing team provided regular assistance for two weeks to optimize the results obtained in the training. The results of the activity showed that the activity participants were very enthusiastic during the mentoring activity, and gave positive responses, so that activities like this could be routine, especially in assisting with sorghum farming analysis.       Keywords: farming analysis; sorghum; training; mentoring

Abstract

The existence of blog media in disseminating information is a means of storing information online that can be used by staff so that they can provide all information without space and time limits. The PKK of East Sei Silau Village, Asahan Regency, has several active activities carried out in several places in its environment. In carrying out these activities, they still use devices manually to provide information in their activities. The aim of carrying out this service activity is to find out the use of blogs in the business and economic category, to find something unique about blogs that can be published to various parties regarding the use of business and economic blogs so that they can be used effectively and more usefully. The activity implementation method used was in the form of training, interactive discussions with the entire PKK team in East Sei Silau Village, Asahan Regency. This activity uses theoretical and practical knowledge in the room. As a result of the final assessment of the activity, the participants were able to understand the material presented based on the results of the assessment scores obtained from the posttest test results. The activity material given to participants can be used and utilized in creating a blog. The material presented to participants reached 90% of all the concepts involved in creating blogs. The delivery of the material consists of several sessions, namely: explanation, practice, and discussion.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Fun Books as a measuring tool to increase students' creativity at elementary school level in mathematics and language learning. This service is carried out with a focus on measuring students' creativity levels before and after implementing the Fun Book as well as evaluating how to stimulate students' creativity in both subjects. The target of the training is selected students, namely SD Negeri No. 010246 Banjar. The students selected were 16 Grade 2 students. The problem seen at this school is that students are still passive in learning, students are not yet creative and have difficulty answering questions asked by the teacher during each lesson in class, there are even 50% of students who are sleepy when taking part in class lessons. The impact of this training was that 13 students were able to use Fun Book media. Evaluation is carried out at the end of the training by distributing questionnaires to measure the participant's level of understanding. The questionnaire contains questions related to the respondent's identity; general questions related to mathematics and language learning and specific questions related to Fun Book media. The calculation of the questionnaire used the Guttman scale. The evaluation results showed that 89.84% had increased knowledge seen from the calculation of the questionnaire per individual and per question asked and the participation and enthusiasm of students during activities using the Fun Book.Keywords: Fun Book; creativity; student

Abstract

The process of planting corn using conventional methods that have been happening in the community so far has become a problem faced by partners. As a result, the corn planting process takes a long time due to the stages of land preparation, seed placement, and corn covering not occurring simultaneously. By providing training and direct assistance to partners on the use of corn seed planting tools, it can improve their understanding and skills in using the tool effectively. By conducting socialization methods to provide understanding to partners with the aim of the community understanding the use of corn seed planting tools based on the double seed hopper and understanding how to maintain the tool. Thus, with this tool, the corn seed planting process becomes faster. Corn planting is the most widely produced crop in the world, and corn seed plants are most suitable for planting in high-temperature areas. Especially in Indonesia, corn plants cover more than 100 million hectares, consisting of 70 countries and even 53 developing countries. The tool being socialized is a simple tool that is used with human power by pushing without the use of motorized equipment. In the planting process, the spacing between corn seed plants and the number of corn seeds can be adjusted during the planting process. The vessel or container supplying corn seeds is a hopper located at the top, and a hole is provided at the bottom of the hopper, which is the outlet channel. Abstract

Having problem of reaching the tested aspects of TOEFL particularly on achieving target score of TOEFL set, participants needed to be provided an intervention with TOEFL preparation class before encountering the test. For that reason, this community service activity highlighted the impact of TOEFL preparation class on the non EFL learners’ achievement. One class was used as the sample of this activity in which it consisted of twenty students coming from different major in one of private universities in Palembang, southern region of sumatera. Descriptive analysis with experimental design was used. A test was administered to see whether or not there was a significant improvement on the non EFL learners’ TOEFL-like score achievement. The results revealed that achievement level of the participants were in the elementary and intermediate category. Besides, statistically there was a significant improvement on the EFL learners’ TOEFL-like score intervened by the provision of TOEFL preparation class. Thus, it could be further concluded that TOEFL preparation class was impactful on the non EFL undergaduates’ English achievement. Keywords: TOEFL preparation class; Non EFL Classroom; Non EFL learners’                  achievement

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pengembangan branding dan identitas bisnis untuk Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Desa Petanang. Masalah utama yang diidentifikasi adalah kurangnya kesadaran merek dan pengenalan produk UMKM Desa Petanang di pasar yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi dan analisis serta pelatihan berupa penyuluhan untuk merancang strategi branding yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggali potensi lokal, mengidentifikasi kekuatan dan peluang yang dimiliki oleh UMKM Desa Petanang, serta merumuskan pesan branding yang kuat, UMKM dapat meningkatkan daya tarik mereka. Dengan menerapkan elemen branding seperti logo, slogan, dan desain kemasan yang mencerminkan budaya dan kualitas produk mereka, UMKM dapat membangun identitas bisnis yang lebih kuat. Dengan menerapkan strategi branding yang sesuai, UMKM Desa Petanang dapat meningkatkan daya saing mereka, menarik lebih banyak pelanggan, dan memperluas pangsa pasar mereka. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pengembangan branding dan identitas bisnis dalam mendukung pertumbuhan UMKM di wilayah pedesaan terutama di desa Petanang.

Abstract

This workshop aims to enhance the soft skills of vocational high school students through the introduction and utilization of Internet of Things (IoT). Participants will be acquainted with the fundamental concepts of IoT and how this technology can enrich their interpersonal abilities. The workshop focuses on developing communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving through the implementation of simple IoT projects. Additionally, participants will understand the positive impact of IoT usage in daily life and the industrial sector. Active learning methods, such as group discussions and project simulations, will provide practical experiences that enrich students' understanding of these concepts. Thus, it is anticipated that this workshop will significantly contribute to equipping vocational high school students with relevant soft skills, supporting their readiness to face challenges in the future.            Keywords: Internet of Things; arduino; kodular

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Fingermathic method in forming students' independent learning character. This method is applied in mathematics learning in elementary schools with a focus on the use of fingers as a tool for visualizing arithmetic operations. The research involved students as test subjects who were assessed through an evaluation questionnaire on various aspects of the characteristics of independent learning. The results of the analysis show that the Fingermathic method can increase students' learning initiative and self-confidence, although more attention is still needed on the aspects of setting targets, overcoming difficulties, and evaluating learning outcomes. The conclusions of this research provide a basis for further development in designing learning strategies that support the formation of students' independent learning character at the elementary school level.            Keywords: student character; learning independence; fingermathic

Abstract

This manuscript presents the outcome of community service activities for children at Holy Angel orphanage who experiences nervousness when public speaking. The team focuses on middle and high school participants who often make presentations in front of the class. In the previous community service, we discussed training regarding increasing students' self-confidence. The team complemented the idea of public communication on intrapersonal strength, namely managing nervousness with an emphasis on practice, preparation, and the ability to overcome nervousness constructively. The team believes that knowledge of managing nervousness from an early age can help children in orphanages get used to facing various kinds of audiences in the future. This service method is tests, lectures and practice which include assignments and simulations. The result of this activity is that children can overcome nervousness by means of positive self-motivation, regular breathing, good script preparation and analyzing the audience. Keywords: public communication, public speaking, nervous management, communication anxiety
