Jurnal AYUMI adalah jurnal budaya, bahasa dan sastra yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Sastra Jepang, Fakultas Sastra, Universitas Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Jurnal ini memuat hasil penelitian, artikel ilmiah, dan studi pustaka tentang budaya, bahasa, dan sastra Jepang. Kami mengundang para dosen prodi bahasa dan sastra Jepang, peneliti dan praktisi untuk mengirimkan karyanya baik dalam bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa Jepang. Jurnal ini terbit dua kali dalam setahun, yakni setiap bulan Maret dan September. Batas akhir pengiriman naskah untuk edisi Maret adalah bulan Januari dan untuk edisi September pada bulan Juli.

Abstract

This study describes the mistakes in choosing bunkei and the causes of mistakes made by second-level students of Japanese Literature Study Program, University of Dr. Soetomo in answering the Enshuu 2 quiz questions chapters 26 to chapter 34. The theory used in this study is the theory of language errors and the theory of bunkei in chapters 26-34. The benefits of this research are expected to be material for evaluating the learning of respondents and Japanese language learners in understanding the bunkei properly and correctly, and can be a reference for teachers in explaining bunkei in class in more detail. This study uses a qualitative method. The data is in the form of sentence pattern questions or bunkei shoutesuto Enshuu 2 where the answer choices are wrong with more than 4 voters added to the respondent's answer questionnaire. Based on the analysis, the respondents’ selection errors in selecting bunkei that were most frequent to least were bunkei …nai de,… …te…masu, …hou ga ii, …kanoukei forms (forms of ability) […raremasu], …ga miemasu/ … ga kikoemasu, …deshou, mada …te imasen, and ..te shimaimamashita. The cause of the error was because the respondent still did not understand the context of the question sentence properly and was not careful. keywords: bunkei; Enshuu 2; language errors; shoutesuto.

Abstract

The game Kantai Collection, more commonly known as Kancolle, is a Japanese-language game that is very popular among young Japanese people, especially among fans of anime-themed games. This game is set in the background of World War II and features many foreign characters who use gairaigo (loanwords from foreign languages) in their conversations. Gairaigo refers to borrowed words from foreign languages used by the Japanese people. The aim of this research is to classify the morphological processes of gairaigo in the source data and analyze how these gairaigo words are formed. This study is a qualitative descriptive research using the free observation method. The research collected data from six characters who frequently use gairaigo. The results of the study found 57 gairaigo words, consisting of 48 affixations, 6 combinations, and 3 word truncations, but no reduplication or direct borrowing was found. Furthermore, there were no changes in word classes in these gairaigo affixations. Keywords: gairaigo; game; morphological process.

Abstract

Aizuchi (backchannel) is one of the unique habits that Japanese people have when talking to others. Aizuchi is a short phrase said by listeners when having a conversation. There are seven functions of aizuchi according Mayumi Kubota. Yuru Camp is one of the anime that applies a lot of aizuchi habits. That is what makes researchers interested in researching the function of aizuchi contained in Yuru Camp by Afro. The purpose of this study is to describe the function of aizuchi contained in the Yuru Camp. This research is a descriptive qualitative research and the analysis uses aizuchi theory proposed by Mayumi Kubota.. In this research, it is found that the functions of aizuchi used in Yuru Camp anime dialog are hearing sign (kiite iru to iu shingou), understanding sign (rikai shite iru to iu shingou), agreement sign (doui no shingou), denial sign (hitei no shingou), (kanjou no shingou), pause mark (ma o motaseru shingou), and adding, correcting, and requesting information (jouhou o tsuika, teisei, youkyuu no shingou). The use of aizuchi in the Yuru Camp anime supports smooth conversations between characters because the listener shows his attention to the speaker in a polite way. Keywords: aizuchi; anime; verbal.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the kigo index contained in Matsuo Basho's haiku from Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic perspective. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques, namely literature study. The aim of this research is to find out what kigo indexes are in Matsuo Basho's haiku. The results of this research are that there are five haiku that explain kigo which has cause and effect. Kigo is related to natural conditions and seasons so it can be assumed that through kigo the poet's mood can be described. In this research, it is hoped that apart from being able to increase insight into indices, this research can become a reference for further research that wants to discuss kigo in haiku. Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The research delves into the concept of Honne-Tatemae used in communication in the anime "Omoi Omoware Furi Furare." The discussion in this study encompasses the application of the Honne-Tatemae concept and its functions within the anime. The data collection technique employed in this research is the note-taking method with descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the application of Honne-Tatemae in this anime is utilized in various situational contexts, with its functions including avoiding direct conflicts, a desire to maintain social harmony, and self-protection. Abstract

Aizuchi is a term that refers to interjections or short responses used by Japanese people in everyday conversations to indicate that the listener/interlocutor is paying attention or understands what is being said. This research describes the use of aizuchi in conversational texts in Marugoto's book Intermediate Level 1 B1 Topic 7 Part 2 pages 154-155. The purpose of this research is to describe the use of aizuchi in conversation in Japanese. The benefit of this research is that researchers and readers can understand the various types of simple aizuchi used during conversation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data analysis in this research uses Horiguchi theory. Based on the results of data analysis, the use of aizuchi found in this research is in 3 forms, namely, aizuchishi with 7 data, kurikaeshi with 3 data, and iikae with 2 data. First, the aizuchishi form, namely, a (あ), aa (ああ), ええ (ee), そうですか (sou desu ka), そうですね (sou desu ne) each with 1 data and hai (はい) with 2 data. Second, the form of kurikaeshi, namely, getsuyoubi (月曜日) 1 data and suiyoubi (水曜日) 2 data. Third, the form of iikae, namely, dougi (道着) and hakama (袴) each have 1 data. Abstract

The problem of this research is how the influence of verbs that have grammatical meaning in the lyrics of the songs Hoshi wo Tsukame and Garuda to Tomo ni affects the meaning of the two songs. The theories used in this research are semantic theory (imiron), grammatical meaning (bunpouteki-imi), imperative verbs (meireikei), …n desu verbs, and uncertain verbs (doushi no futeikei). The aim of this research is to determine changes in the grammatical meaning of the verbs in the lyrics of the songs Hoshi wo Tsukame and Garuda to Tomo ni, secondly, to find out the influence of these verb changes in influencing the meaning of the two songs. The benefit of this research is that Japanese language learners can understand that changes in the grammatical meaning of Japanese verbs in Japanese song lyrics can influence changes in meaning. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research are that the verb (doushi) underwent a process of changing its lexical to grammatical meaning as many as 9 data. First, there are two forms of command verbs (meireikei). One, verb + form ...ro (ーろ) found 4 verbs, namely, misetsukero ‘show me’, yakitsukero ‘note it’, koero ‘go beyond’, oitsuzukero ‘keep pursuing’. Two, verb + form...ge (ーげ) were found 3, namely, tsunage ‘join hands’, tsudoe ‘gather’, tachimukae ‘face’. Second, the verb form ...n desu with the form: verb + form ...nda (ーんだ) was found 1, namely, shinjiru nda. ‘trust me’. Third, an indefinite verb (doushi no futeikei) with the form: verb + form...zuni (ーずに) was found 1, namely, akiramezuni ‘without giving up’. These three verb functions indirectly influence the meaning content of the two songs which call for, strengthen and provide an optimistic attitude for athletes, especially the Indonesian Team and the U17 National Team, to fight persistently, never give up and believe they can achieve the best achievements. Abstract

Teaching materials are needed as reinforcement material in order to fulfil the learning competence of students. This study aims to analyse the suitability of NHK Easy News Media in Todai Easy Japanese application as a companion teaching material in the 2005 revised Minna no Nihongo II book for N4 equivalent students. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive qualitative method. The data sources were all vocabulary and grammar in Minna no Nihongo Shokyu II book and NHK Easy News media reading texts using the theory from Arikunto as a determinant of the suitability of these variables. The data collection techniques applied were observation, documentation study and questionnaires to two lecturers and 67 students. Then, to analyse the possibility of success of being accepted as a companion teaching material, using the theory from Aisyah et al. This analysis research shows that NHK media has 85% on vocabulary appropriateness and 98% on grammar appropriateness. These results indicate that NHK media are "very suitable" as companion teaching materials. This is reinforced by the responses given by lecturers and students, the majority of which gave answers and were positive on each statement. Abstract

This research discusses the inner conflict experienced by the character Hanaya Taiga in the film Kamen Rider Snipe: Episode ZERO. This thesis uses Kurt Lewin's conflict theory and also uses qualitative methods as a research method, where the results of data analysis are in the form of descriptive word explanations. The technique used in this research is the observation and note-taking technique where the data source is analyzed and then notes related to the occurrence of inner conflict in the character Hanaya Taiga. The results of this research found that the conflicts experienced by Hanaya Taiga were type 1 conflict, type 2 conflict, and also type 3 conflict. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of figurative language styles by the character Betsuyaku Hiroka in the film Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime by Mamoru Hosoda. Data collection in this study used the observation method. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method using note-taking techniques. The theory used in this study is Gorys Keraf's theory of language style. The source of this study is the film Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime by Mamoru Hosoda which has 2 hours 1 minute 15 seconds duration. The results of this study show that there are 5 types of figurative language styles used by the character Betsuyaku Hiroka, including 1) Equation or simile, 2) Irony, 3) Cynicism, 4) Sarcasm, 5) Inuendo. The form of figurative language that is most often used by the character Betsuyaku Hiroka is cynicism. The use of cynical figurative language to demean, criticize or make fun of the physical, attitude and thoughts of the interlocutor. Keywords: figurative; film; language style; stylistics.
