Abstract

This study aims to reveal how the myth of masculinity and the construction of the father's role are represented in Kapal Api's advertisement entitled “Semangat 100% Seorang Ayah” (100% Spirit of a Father). This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, tracing the meanings formed through visual, verbal, and narrative signs that appear in the advertisement. Data was obtained through literature study and analysis of several images from advertisements uploaded on Kapal Api's official YouTube channel, focusing on symbols that highlight the relationship between masculinity, work, and sacrifice. The results show that the advertisement constructs the image of a father as a hard-working, tough, and responsible figure. This is an ideal image of masculinity that has long existed in Indonesian culture. Coffee serves as a symbol of energy, determination, and zest for life that reinforces patriarchal values of men as the main breadwinners of the family. However, this advertisement also reveals a new layer of meaning by presenting the figure of a warm, loving father who is close to his family. This marks a shift in the representation of masculinity towards a more empathetic and humanistic portrayal. Thus, the Kapal Api advertisement not only reproduces the old myth of men as dominant figures, but also presents a narrative of balance between strength and gentleness. Through strong visual and symbolic strategies, this study confirms that advertisements are an important medium in shaping and negotiating social meanings about the role of fathers and masculine identity amid changes in modern Indonesian cultural values.

Abstract

This study aims, first, to examine the role of Kebumen youth in efforts to revive the local economy. The steps or actions referred to are the efforts of Kebumen youth in utilising technology in the management of their businesses. The second objective of this study is to identify the inhibiting and driving factors that optimise the role of Kebumen youth in the regional economy. The third objective is to develop strategies to optimise the role of Kebumen youth in the economic development process, in this case, the utilisation of technology. This study is an exploratory descriptive study that provides an overview through a series of surveys of selected respondents. This series of surveys was conducted with the aim of describing the phenomena occurring in the community (descriptive function). The results of this study are as follows. MSMEs managed by respondents in Kebumen Regency include businesses in the building materials, foodstuffs, handicrafts, and textiles sectors. The majority of MSME business units in the food sector use simple and makeshift technology (tools). The results of the evaluation and measurement of the TRL of MSMEs in Kebumen show that all samples have passed the measurement at levels 1 to 3. Less than 50% of units have passed the intermediate level measurement, namely levels 4 to 6; while less than 10% of units have passed the upper level measurement, namely levels 7 to 9. This explains that the production aspect of MSMEs in Kebumen requires government intervention in the use of appropriate technology and supporting indicators such as management, hygiene in production, and human resources. The main driving factor in business management carried out by respondents is that managers are sufficiently literate in production technology, although they are not yet fully able to adapt to the ongoing industrial revolution 5.0.

Abstract

The city of Surabaya is currently intensively developing its tourism potential. One of the tourist destinations that is being created is the Surabaya City Mangrove Botanical Garden. In the development process, the government provides space for establishing partnerships with street vendors who previously sold there to fill the vacancies in the culinary center stands in the Mangrove Botanical Gardens. This research aims to analyze the partnership between the MSME Culinary Center and the UPTD Mangrove Botanical Gardens in Surabaya City so that it can provide benefits to increase competitiveness and sustainably strengthen ecotourism. However, there are still several complaints from MSME culinary center players. The research method used is descriptive through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources are obtained from primary data and secondary data. The focus of this research uses the theory of the mutualistic partnership model (Sulitiyani, 2017) because both are aware of the sense of providing mutual benefits and getting benefits based on the analysis of three principles of partnership, namely equality, transparency, and mutual win-win solution. The results obtained from this research are as follows: 1) In its implementation, equality has not gone well because there is no cooperation agreement/MoU in the aspect of mutual trust. However, the MSME Culinary Center and UPTD Mangrove Botanical Gardens have an agreement approved by the MSME actors, and there is a lack of respect for the rules for visitors. 2) in its implementation, transparency has been carried out well because both have the ease of clear communication, transparency of information on management and ordering food and large minimums and transparency of information about financial management. 3) Win-win solution: The implementation is quite good because MSME Culinary Center Operators benefit from additional turnover from sales proceeds and facilities provided by the UPTD Managing the Mangrove Botanical Gardens, while the UPTD Managing the Mangrove Botanical Gardens gets an increase in Regional Original Income (PAD) from ticketing, even though the promotion aspect of the Medokan Sawah culinary center is not yet optimal.

Abstract

The quality of basic education is highly dependent on teachers' ability to manage learning effectively. However, many teachers still face difficulties in mastering these skills, resulting in suboptimal pedagogical competence. This condition emphasizes the importance of the principal's role. Until now, hierarchical and administrative leadership patterns have caused the relationship between principals and teachers to be less than warm. Therefore, more humanistic and collaborative leadership is needed, namely principals as friends. This study aims to describe: (1) how principals implement a friend-based leadership approach in elementary schools, (2) supporting factors that influence the application of principal leadership as a friend in developing teachers’ pedagogical competence in elementary schools, (3) obstacles/constraints faced by principals in developing teachers’ pedagogical competence in elementary schools, (4) Strategies of principal leadership as a friend in efforts to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a multi-case study design. Data were collected through passive participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Analysis was conducted through single case and cross-case analysis. The results show that the principal's leadership as a friend is manifested through a humanistic, open, and collaborative approach without neglecting professional boundaries. This approach creates a harmonious working atmosphere and motivates teachers to develop their pedagogical competencies. Supporting factors include shared commitment, collaboration between principals, teachers, and parents, support from the education office, and a culture of learning together. The obstacles that arise include limited time, facilities, funds, and teacher readiness. To overcome this, the principal implements strategies such as training, mentoring, sharing good practices, supervision, appreciation, and an empathetic approach. These strategies have been proven to strengthen professional relationships and improve the pedagogical competence of teachers in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the criteria and sub-criteria that are prioritised by auditors in determining the audit software used in the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Inspectorate. The researchers used a qualitative approach with the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method using the Analytical Hierarchy Processes (AHP) analysis tool. The research sample consisted of all auditors at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Inspectorate. The results of data analysis at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Inspectorate showed that technical functions were the main priority for auditors in selecting audit software, while vendor support criteria were low priority criteria. Based on the questionnaire results, the software used by auditors was Microsoft Excel, while ACL was the least used application with the lowest percentage. The Government Internal Supervisory Agency (APIP) currently uses Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (TABK). Therefore, the selection of audit applications can be determined through the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach to select audit applications in accordance with the needs of the Southeast Sulawesi Province APIP. The results of this study will later be added to the discussion of theory and literature on the application of AHP in government agencies and institutions at the regional level in decision-making on the use of computer-based government information systems. This study is limited to the sub-criteria of audit software and the main criteria for the use of audit software and statistical criteria.

Abstract

The rise of radicalism among students poses a serious challenge to the national education system, particularly in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This situation indicates an imbalance between the ideal of Islamic education, which is oriented towards moderation, and pedagogical practices that are still teacher-centered and tend to be doctrinal. One pedagogical approach that is considered capable of overcoming this problem is Student-Centered Learning (SCL), a learning model that prioritizes the active involvement of students in constructing knowledge, developing critical reflection, and internalizing contextual and humanistic religious values. This study aims to systematically examine the relevance and effectiveness of applying SCL in PAI as a strategy to prevent radicalism in educational institutions. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, analyzing 30 scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025 from the Scopus, ERIC, SpringerLink, Taylor Francis, and DOAJ databases. The results show that the application of SCL encourages a paradigm shift in learning from a teacher-centered approach to a participatory, reflective, and collaborative model. SCL has been proven to contribute to strengthening critical thinking skills, social empathy, and religious moderation values such as tolerance, justice, and balance. Therefore, SCL functions not only as an effective pedagogical strategy but also as an ideological instrument for building inclusive religious awareness and rejecting extremism. This study recommends curriculum reform, improvement of teacher competence, and SCL-based Islamic education policies to strengthen religious moderation and promote sustainable social peace

Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of Islamic educational institutions in Muslim-minority regions through case studies of Pondok Pesantren Putri Ummi Kalsum and Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah in Gunungsitoli City. The central issue lies in how pesantren are able to survive and grow amid the dominance of a non-Muslim society. The objective of the study is to reveal strategies of existence, institutional adaptation, and the socio-religious roles of pesantren within the local context. The research employs a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings show that both pesantren have successfully become centers of education, dakwah, and the strengthening of Islamic identity through adaptive strategies, local leadership, and constructive social integration.
