Abstract

The establishment of South Nias Regency is of course accompanied by the formation of new legislatif and executive institutions to run the government. The formation of these institutions provided an opportunity for the emergence of local Nias Selatan elites to take up positions as legislators and regional heads. Reflecting from the above view, this research is a case study that focuses on developing in-depth descriptions and explanations of the meaning of the position of legislatif members in South Nias in 2014. specifically the perspective of Peter L Berger's social construction. At a practical level, this study can be a "mirror" for local political elites in South Nias to understand the political dynamics in the district more sharply and deeply, and can be considered in formulating more appropriate strategies and tactics. The method in this study uses the phenomenology approach. This approach prioritizes human existence as something that must be interpreted or interpreted. Phenomenology in this study basically seeks to uncover and describe the meaning of the position of DPRD members for competing local South Nias elites. The conclusions in this study reveal that the reality of the meaning of office is in the view of members of the South Nias DPRD, namely as a mandate, arena of contestation, and aspects of interests. The factors underlying the interest of South Nias DPRD members towards positions were formed in two spheres, namely the individual domain and the community domain. In the individual domain, their interest in the position is motivated by four factors, namely internal motivation, external motivation, skills, and goals. While in the community domain there are three factors, namely the previous orientation, current orientation, and future orientation. The motive of South Nias DPRD members in choosing to become officials in the ranks of the government bureaucracy is to become a direct actor in South Nias regional development. Being an official for members of the South Nias DPRD is important than that position held by people who do not care about the development of South Nias. If the position is held by people who do not understand the history, culture and customs of South Nias, it will be fatal.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the position of sons in the Mandailing family in overseas areas. This research is located in Bangun Sari Hamlet, Labuhanbatu Regency, Rantauprapat. This study uses an ethnographic approach using descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects in this study were married couples (families) who are of the Mandailing ethnicity. The number of respondents in this study were 5 people. Data collection was carried out by observing, interviewing, and studying written documents. The data obtained was then analyzed using qualitative data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, and data presentation. Research results obtained by children in a family are the most beautiful gifts from God. In a family in the Mandailing community, sons are very important because sons carry a surname and are successors of the genealogy and are a complement to the philosophy of Dalihan Na Tolu. The Mandailing ethnic community in Bangun Sari Hamlet has an understanding that the position of sons in the Mandailing family is high because they are the successors of the clan. However, along with the times and the occurrence of assimilation in customs and culture with the Javanese, the people view boys and girls as the same. There is no difference in what happens to girls even though sons are the successors of the clan. In the past, boys were number one in education and wealth, but now they are all equal

Abstract

Teacher work productivity can affect the progress of the quality of learning in schools. From the initial survey, it is seen that the work productivity of teachers, especially private junior high school teachers, has not been as expected, meaning "das sein" has not been like "das sollen". Therefore, the teacher's work productivity is interesting to be studied. The research aims to find an effort to increase teacher work productivity by examining the relationship between other variables with teacher work productivity. The other variables are commitment to the profession and supervision of the principal. This research was conducted using the correlational statistical method to find out whether commitment to the profession and supervision of the principal has a positive relationship with teacher work productivity. Based on these results, an analysis was then performed using the Sitorem Method to establish recommendations and find a priority order for improvement of the indicators of the research variables needed. The study was conducted on private junior high school teachers in Klapanunggal District, Bogor Regency with a population of 134 teachers, with a proportional random sample of 100 teachers. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between commitment to the profession with teacher work productivity with a correlation coefficient of 0.512, there was a positive relationship between the supervision of principals with teacher work productivity with a correlation coefficient of 0.464, and there was a positive relationship between commitment to the profession and supervision of principals as together with teacher work productivity with a correlation coefficient of 0.676. This shows that teacher work productivity can be increased through strengthening commitment to the profession and supervision of the principal. The results of Sitorem's analysis show that strengthening commitment to the profession and supervision of school principals can be done by improving indicators that are still weak and maintaining good indicators. Indicators that are still weak and require improvement in the order of priority handling are as follows: 1. Professional development efforts, 2. Services to students, 3. Guidelines for student success, 4. Responsibility, 5. Love of the profession, 6. Provision of feedback from results supervision, 7. follow up supervision, 8. Continuity of supervision, 9. Provision of assistance and guidance, 10. Interaction in supervision, 11. Speed of completing work, 12. Personal development, 13. Positive contribution to the environment, 14. Targets to be achieved , and 15. Relationships with fellow teachers. Whereas the 3 indicators that are in good condition and remain to be maintained are: 1. Obedience to the rules, 2. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the literacy skills of elementary school students in Indonesia. The technical and non-technical constraints during distance learning result in literacy loss, which should be minimized as early as possible. Adjustment of learning systems and policies helps prevent the potential for literacy loss, one of which is implementing emergency curriculum policies issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The emergency curriculum policy was created to reduce learning obstacles students, teachers, and parents face due to the suboptimal implementation of Distance Learning. This study utilized a literature review method by providing an emergency curriculum policy to mitigate literacy loss in elementary school students. This policy contains several modules for children, teachers, and parents whose material focuses on basic literacy and numeracy needs, focusing on essential competencies and prerequisite competencies to support continuous learning. Thus, the emergency curriculum policy can be one of the ways to overcome disparities in human development and one of the ways to overcome current social development problems.
