Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited specific empirical studies regarding how students' perceptions of concrete reward provision affect various dimensions of learning motivation in the learning environment, especially at the elementary school level, which is a crucial foundation of education. Learning motivation has a significant impact on the success of the learning process. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of perceptions of reward provision on students' learning motivation at SDN Simpang Empat 3. The method used is quantitative with a correlational design, employing simple linear regression analysis, with a sample of 31 students from grades V and VI selected through total sampling techniques. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using normality tests, linearity tests, and simple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that there is a positive and significant effect of reward perception on students' learning motivation, with a significance value of reward perception of 0.005 (< 0.05) and a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.245, meaning that reward perception contributes 24.5% to enhancing students' learning motivation. These findings align with the purpose of the study and reinforce reinforcement theory. The main conclusion of this study is that students' perceptions of rewards empirically affect learning motivation at the elementary school level. The implications of this research include theoretical aspects, such as enriching the literature on the dynamics of rewards and motivation in the context of elementary schools, as well as practical aspects, namely recommendations for educators and school stakeholders to consider comprehensive strategies that include various other factors affecting learning motivation. This study also opens opportunities for further research on other factors (75.5%) that influence students' learning motivation.

Abstract

In today's digital era, the integration of technology into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction has become essential to enhance effectiveness and student interest, particularly as learners tend to become disengaged with conventional methods. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using the interactive learning platform Kahoot in improving student learning outcomes in PAI at SMA Islam Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya. The research method employed was quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 15 eleventh-grade social science students as subjects. Data were collected through learning outcome tests administered before and after the treatment and analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS 25. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in learning scores (p = 0.457 > 0.05) after the use of Kahoot, indicating its effectiveness in enhancing motivation, engagement, and understanding of PAI material through an interactive, enjoyable, and competitive learning environment. The conclusion of this study is that digital tools like Kahoot are effective strategies for improving the quality of PAI instruction. The implications of these findings suggest that teachers and educational institutions should adopt innovative, technology-integrated teaching methods to address the challenges of modern education.

Abstract

The limited number of studies on the use of the QuizWhizzer application in Arabic vocabulary learning serves as the background for this research, despite its significant potential to support language skills at the Madrasah Aliyah level. This Classroom Action Research aims to examine the planning, implementation, and outcomes of using the QuizWhizzer application as a learning medium to enhance students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The study was conducted over two cycles, each consisting of two sessions, involving 13 tenth-grade students at MA Syekh Yusuf Sungguminasa. The independent variable in this research is the QuizWhizzer application, while the dependent variable is the mastery of Arabic vocabulary. Data collection techniques included observation for qualitative data and evaluation tests for quantitative data. The results indicate that the lesson planning was carried out systematically, and the implementation successfully improved teacher-student interaction. Students’ evaluation scores increased from an average of 72.69% in the first cycle to 85.00% in the second cycle, representing a 12.31% improvement. These findings demonstrate that the use of QuizWhizzer as a learning medium is effective in helping students achieve the Minimum Competency Criteria and significantly enhancing their mastery of Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

This research is driven by the growing issues of value disorientation and stagnation of tolerance in Indonesia, particularly in Malang—a region known for its religious diversity. These challenges significantly impact the progress of religious moderation, prompting an investigation into the strategies, implementation, and implications of the Interfaith Communication Forum (FKAUB) of Malang in promoting religious harmony. Employing a qualitative approach with purposive sampling, data were collected over a six-month period through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that FKAUB Malang adopts a multifaceted strategy centered on education and socialization of religious moderation. This strategy is implemented through collaborations with interfaith training institutions and conflict mediation efforts grounded in local wisdom. Key programs include seminars, workshops, and interfaith youth forums, all aimed at fostering inclusive dialogue and mutual understanding among diverse religious communities. The practical contribution of this study lies in informing the development of inclusive Islamic Religious Education curricula and supporting the institutional strengthening of FKAUB initiatives. Theoretically, it enriches the discourse on religious education by illustrating the harmonizing role of interfaith forums in pluralistic societies. Despite its limitations as a single case study, the research offers valuable insights into localized strategies for building interfaith harmony and advancing religious moderation at the grassroots level.

Abstract

Education is a key aspect in shaping a high-quality generation capable of competing in the era of globalization and rapid change. Therefore, MA Hasyim Asy’ari Sukodono continuously strives to improve its educational quality through the development of student discipline and the strengthening of the learning system. This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of learning discipline and teacher competence on students' academic achievement at MA Hasyim Asy’ari. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, involving the entire student population of 141 individuals in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected through a census technique. Data analysis was conducted using linear regression, which revealed that both learning discipline and teacher competence have a positive and significant partial effect on student achievement, with learning discipline having a more dominant influence. Simultaneously, the two variables significantly contribute to academic performance. These results highlight the importance of instilling learning discipline as a core value through habituation programs, attitude assessments, and active involvement of teachers and parents. In parallel, improving teacher competence should be prioritized through regular training, targeted performance evaluations, and strengthened collaboration via internal MGMP forums to ensure effective learning processes that directly impact student achievement. The implications of this study provide a strategic foundation for policy development aimed at enhancing educational quality within madrasah environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of ice breaking techniques in enhancing enthusiasm for learning Arabic at Madin An-Nasyi’in Sentong, as a response to low student motivation and participation that tends to result in a passive learning atmosphere. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate that the application of ice breaking techniques such as “Clapping,” “Hands on Shoulders,” “Sitting Face to Face,” and “Dancing” significantly increased students’ enthusiasm, focus, and engagement in the learning process. These techniques were able to create a livelier, more enjoyable, and interactive classroom atmosphere. Despite challenges such as time constraints and varying student responses, this strategy proved effective in overcoming learning fatigue and encouraging active student participation in the context of Arabic language instruction in nonformal educational settings. These findings underscore the importance of innovative teaching methods to enhance the quality of learning interaction and student motivation in foreign language acquisition.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common issue faced by first-year university students, particularly as they undergo the transition from secondary to higher education. This study aims to analyze the partial effects of academic burnout, social media addiction, and academic stress on academic procrastination among first-year students at Universitas Sunan Giri Surabaya. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, involving 42 purposively selected first-year students. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to identify the contribution of each independent variable to the dependent variable. The results indicate that social media addiction has a significant and most dominant influence on academic procrastination, followed by academic stress, which also shows a significant effect. Meanwhile, academic burnout does not show a significant influence. These findings emphasize that academic procrastination among first-year students is more strongly influenced by psychosocial factors related to social media use and academic pressure. The practical implications of this study highlight the need for interventions that focus on stress management and healthy social media use to reduce the tendency to delay academic tasks among new university students.

Abstract

Learning success is highly influenced by the teacher’s role in mastering the subject matter and applying an appropriate instructional model, one of which is the cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type, which is believed to enhance student motivation and enthusiasm for learning. This study aims to examine the implementation of the STAD cooperative learning model and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students on the topic of animal life cycles at MIS NW Dasan Tapen. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, tests, interviews, field notes, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of the STAD model improved student learning outcomes, as reflected in the increase in the percentage of learning mastery from 65% in the pretest to 100% in the posttest. Additionally, the learning process showed improved student participation and comprehension of the material taught. These findings indicate that the STAD learning model is effective not only in improving cognitive achievement but also in fostering active student engagement during the learning process. The practical implication of this study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate instructional models to optimally achieve learning objectives.

Abstract

Da'wah is a noble activity aimed at promoting virtue and preventing vice to achieve happiness in both this world and the hereafter, as commanded in QS Ali Imran verse 104. In this context, the use of relevant da'wah media becomes essential, including through local religious traditions. This study aims to analyze the da'wah messages conveyed through the recitation of Hizib Nahdlatul Wathan (NW) in Lingkungan Menang, Gerung Selatan Subdistrict, Gerung District, West Lombok. This tradition is conducted in rotation from house to house as a form of cultural da'wah intended to strengthen faith and social solidarity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the recitation of Hizib NW conveys da'wah messages encompassing three main aspects: aqidah (faith), syariah (Islamic law), and akhlak (moral behavior). In addition to conveying Islamic values, this activity contributes to strengthening social relationships, increasing spiritual awareness, preserving religious and local cultural traditions, and reducing the potential for social conflict within the community. These findings affirm that da'wah through the recitation of Hizib NW is not merely verbal but also practical, thereby simultaneously reinforcing the social and spiritual dimensions of community life.

Abstract

Amid growing concern over the decline of character education among Indonesia’s youth, particularly in relation to student discipline, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) have emerged as vital institutions for cultivating moral integrity through continuous and holistic educational practices. This study investigates the development of student discipline through the internalization of Islamic educational values at the Wali Songo Islamic Boarding School in Ngabar Ponorogo. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews with educators and students, document analysis, and field notes. The study identifies three primary strategies contributing to the internalization process: role modeling by educators, habituation via structured daily routines, and firm yet constructive rule enforcement. The internalization of discipline unfolds through the phases of value transformation, transaction, and trans-internalization, embedding the core Islamic principles of iman (faith), sharia (Islamic law), and akhlaq (morality) into students’ behavior. Discipline, as developed in this context, transcends mere obedience and is manifested as intrinsic moral awareness that shapes students’ conduct within and beyond the school environment. Although challenges persist, particularly among senior students, sustained mentoring and institutional consistency significantly mitigate disciplinary issues. The findings suggest that formal educational institutions may benefit from adopting key elements of the pesantren model, particularly the integration of moral exemplars, routine-based learning, and value-oriented discipline, to enhance character formation in contemporary schooling.
