Abstract

This study aims to look at the involvement of the Bundo Kanduang Organization in implementing character education for the younger generation in Nagari Mungka, Lima Puluh Kota District. This is motivated by the decline in character that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic which was seen from the excessive use of gadgets by the younger generation. The research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach with research subjects: the management of the Bundo Kanduang organization and the younger generation in Nagari Mungka. The results of this study are that there is the involvement of the Bundo Kanduang organization in implementing character education for the younger generation through various programs, such as: wirid at mosques and in residents' homes, socialization of the dangers of drugs and education on Minang customs and culture to Rang Mudo jo Puti Bungsu. The limitation of this research is that it has not seen the role of the Nagari government in increasing the creativity of the younger generation.

Abstract

This study explores the difficulties encountered in the implementation of the Bulek Aia Dek Pambuluah Bulek Kato Dek Mufakaik philosophy as a manifestation of democracy in Minangkabau. In the era of globalization, the democratic system in Minangkabau society has undergone significant changes. The study employed a qualitative approach, with ninik mamak at KAN Salapan Padang and the people of North Padang, where KAN Salapan was located, being interviewed. Data analysis involved techniques such as data reduction, data presentation, and drawing of conclusions. The findings indicate that the current challenges of implementing democracy in Minangkabau include the existence of a voting system and low levels of community participation in decision-making. These are indirectly influenced by globalization and changing times. One limitation of this study is that it does not examine the efforts made by KAN Salapan in confronting these challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of village fund utilization in Kenagarian Sungai Rimbang, Suliki District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, and to identify potential areas for development as well as obstacles faced during the utilization of the village funds. The research method utilized was qualitative with a descriptive approach, and data validation was conducted using member check and source triangulation techniques. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study suggest that the utilization of village funds has not been maximized for village development, as the focus has been primarily on infrastructure development. The potential of this Nagari lies in rice farming and agriculture, and the funds should be allocated towards community empowerment. Several obstacles were identified in the process of utilizing the village funds, including the low skills of human resources in Nagari, an insufficient amount of village funds to cover development in all Jorong, and low support from the village community.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of public education in the Koto Baru district and how the government responds in overcoming educational problems in the Koto Baru district. This study aims to describe: what are the factors causing the low level of public education in Nagari Koto Baru and how governments tackle this problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and documentation studies. (3) The informants in this study were 4 upper class people, 6 lower class people, 4 teachers or educators, 1 Wali Nagari Koto Baru. The research results show that low level of education in village of Koto Baru caused by low level of parent’s education, bad transportations and lack of teacher. Based on this research, it is hoped that parents and the local government will always be able to motivate and supervise children in pursuing their education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is based on the author findings at SMA Negeri 7 Tebo that the level of social media users of Tiktok at SMA Negeri 7 Tebo is quite high. This affects students learning motivation where it is found that some students are lazy to learn due to addiction to playing Tiktok. This study aims to determine the effect of Tiktok social media on motivation to learn Pancasila and Citizenship education at SMA Negeri 7 Tebo. The research method used is quantitative research which is correlational. Data collection techniques using questionnaires to 165 resondents. The data analysis technique is simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS program. Based on data analysis, the result of this study are that there is a relationship between social media Tiktok on motivation to learn Pancasila and Citizenship education which can be seen based on Fcount value of 21,197 with a significance level of 0,000 < 0,05 (α=5%), and it can be seen from the value tcount ≥ ttable which is 4,605 > 1,654 in a negative direction. This shows that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted or in other words there is a negative influence between the social media variables of Tiktok (X) on the variables of motivation to learn Pancasila and Citizenship education (Y) in SMA Negeri 7 Tebo students. The magnitude of the influence given is 11,5%, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside of this research variable. Keywords: tiktok, motivation to learn ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilandasi dari temuan penulis di SMA Negeri 7 Tebo bahwa tingkat pengguna media sosial Tiktok siswa/i SMA Negeri 7 Tebo cukup tinggi. Hal ini mempengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa, dimana ditemukan beberapa siswa yang malas belajar akibat kecanduan bermain Tiktok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial Tiktok terhadap motivasi belajar Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan di SMA Negeri 7 Tebo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan penyebaran angket kepada 165 responden. Teknik analisis data yaitu regresi linear sederhana dengan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS. Berdasarkan analisis data, hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat hubungan antara media sosial Tiktok dengan motivasi belajar Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan siswa yang dapat dilihat berdasarkan nilai Fhitung sebesar 21,197 dengan tingkat signifikansinya sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 (α=5%), dan dapat dilihat dari nilai thitung ≥ ttabel yaitu 4,604 > 1,654 dengan arah negatif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima atau dengan kata lain terdapat pengaruh secara negatif antara variabel media sosial Tiktok (X) terhadap variabel motivasi belajar Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (Y) pada siswa SMA Negeri 7 Tebo. Besarnya pengaruh yang diberikan yaitu sebesar 11,5%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain diluar variabel penelitian ini. Kata kunci: tiktok, motivasi belajar

Abstract

Assimilation is a sociocultural phenomenon that manifests in heterogeneous societies where diverse cultural backgrounds converge. The current research delves into the assimilation dynamics between immigrant communities and the indigenous Mentawai tribes in Muara Siberut Village, Mentawai Islands Regency. The process of assimilation is facilitated through the utilization of the local language as a means of communication, engagement in cultural activities, and inter-ethnic marriages. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involves participants from immigrant communities, local communities, and traditional institutions. The findings indicate a harmonious assimilation process between the immigrant communities and the local Mentawai community, characterized by the preservation of their respective local wisdom values that have facilitated assimilation over an extended period of time.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to elucidate a strategy for enhancing students' tolerance values through the implementation of the Nusantara Module activities as part of the Free Student Exchange Program at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. This study employs a qualitative methodology, with data obtained from a range of sources, including informants, locations, events, and documents. Purposive sampling is employed as the sampling technique, with data collection techniques involving interviews, document analysis, and observation. The validity test technique utilized in this study comprises data source triangulation and method triangulation. The findings of this study demonstrate that the strategy to strengthen student tolerance values can be accomplished through a range of activities, including diversity, inspiration, reflection, and social contribution. These activities demonstrate that the Nusantara module activities leverage a value classification approach and a value analysis approach in their efforts to enhance students' tolerance values. The primary limitation of this study is its inability to assess online activities that may have been conducted.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the use of media by the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Serang City as a form of political education. The media used are digital and conventional. Both can be maximized in the political education carried out by this organization. The focus of this research is related to the development of digitization of information dealing with community activities on social media so that information mobilization occurs as a campaign tool and political education. The supervisory role carried out by the Serang City Bawaslu in realizing honest, fair and democratic elections can keep up with the times, especially regarding prosecution of election violations. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview and documentation techniques. The findings from this study are that there are obstacles from the community who are still not enthusiastic about responding to political education conducted by Bawaslu.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing ethno-cultural identity values in the Bougenville art studio to prevent ethnocentrism. The research demonstrates that art learning and interactions among studio members contribute to the broadening of individuals' social perspectives. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing a case study method. The research participants included the head and trainer of the Bougenville studio, as well as the students and community members associated with the studio. Data collection techniques consisted of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that the Bougenville studio has a strategic approach in preserving local identity, considering its location in Pontianak where multiple ethnic groups coexist. The studio incorporates regular training programs and curriculum advancements. Although the focus is primarily on regional culture, particularly Melayu culture, it does not lead to an ethnocentric attitude among the studio's students. The Bougenville studio successfully promotes and upholds ethno-cultural values without fostering ethnocentrism among its residents.

Abstract

This article examines the management and supervision of Islamic education in West Sumatra within a highly decentralized educational system. It addresses the belief among Indonesians that centralized governance leads to regional unfairness and hinders community involvement. In a decentralized system, local governments have the autonomy to control their own functions, including education, aligning with the goals and needs of their communities. The growth of Islamic education in West Sumatra is a result of this decentralized system. This article using qualitative research methods such as document analysis and interviews and conducted in Padang and Padang Panjang as representative of Muslim regions in West Sumatra. Findings indicate that the planning process is initiated by the mayor, who appoints government institutions like Social Welfare Unit and Education Departments to oversee Islamic education in the region, following a top-down approach.
