Abstract

Article 15 of Law No. 35/2014 affirms the right of every child to be protected from various forms of exploitation, including sexual crimes. A well-structured and age-appropriate Islamic sexuality education curriculum plays an important role in shaping a healthy understanding of children's physical, emotional, and social interactions. This research reviews the development of a sexuality education curriculum using the Dick and Carey development model in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Kindergarten B unit that refers to the Merdeka Curriculum. This curriculum includes four learning domains, namely intellectual skills, verbal information, psychomotor skills, and attitudes, which are in line with the Learning Outcomes of religious values and character, identity, and the basics of literacy and Steam. The learning design process begins with goal identification through performance analysis and needs assessment, then designing learning objectives that address specific challenges. The curriculum contains two themes, namely Showing Appropriate Reactions to Verbal Harassment and Inappropriate Touching which has 13 learning outcomes and Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene of Sensitive Body Parts which has 5 learning outcomes. The media needed to support learning include videos, picture storybooks, cards, snakes and ladders games, puppets, and songs. The appropriate methods are storytelling, socio-drama, interactive games, and discussions. The product was validated by material and curriculum experts. After revision, the values achieved showed improvement, with the Curriculum and Learning Evaluation Expert Assessment increasing from 3.06 to 3.74, reflecting increased suitability and effectiveness. The Early Childhood Sexuality Education Material Content Expert Assessment progressed from 3.08 to 3.67, highlighting improved inclusivity and accuracy.

Abstract

The scope of this research is at the level of experience of women informal workers in Pasar Besar Palangka Raya. This experience speaks of bargaining power, empowerment in terms of decision-making, economic independence, body and future authorsity and freedom of expression. Nevertheless, the authors found the imprisonment of double burden in the lives of 3 research subjects. The purpose of this study is to show the extent to which the narrative leads them to live the values of equality through informal work. The research method used is qualitative research with interviews., then the authors recorded, transcribed, made a factual solid and then classified into themes that are close to this research. The results of the research through the experiences of women informal workers in Pasar Besar show that women are found to be empowered over assets, time and in decision-making. On the other hand, both empowerment and imprisonment of women's double burden make John Stuart Mill's philosophical lens dialogue in it when talking about marriage as friendship and not as property or slavery. Mill's intersubjective space becomes a buffer in the narrative of women's experiences of informal workers. In addition, the authors finds that gossiping as a negative stigma by society becomes erroneous when confronted with the daily life practices of women informal workers. Gossip/ngerumpi is able to make women's space a place of self-development, self-protection and self-promotion when women are hit by a flood of fatigue, boredom in terms of waiting for the arrival of buyers.

Abstract

This research aims to delves into the survival strategies of Islam Garassik adherents within the diverse context of Tana Toraja society in South Sulawesi. Islam Garassik is not only a subculture in Torajan culture, but also a double minority group. They are not only a minority within the mainstream of Torajan culture but also within the Islamic community itself. This qualitative research employs an interpretative phenomenological approach within Tana Toraja Regency, specifically in Gandangbatu Sillanan Sub-district. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research results show that Islam Garassik is an emerging form of Muslim religiosity in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, particularly in Lembang Garassik and Gandangbatu Sillanan sub-districts. This phenomenon combines Islamic teachings with local values, showing Islamic syncretism that is friendly to local traditions. Garassik Islam was born out of interactions with Bugis merchants in Mebali, a traditional market, and was influenced by the long and intense history of struggle between religious and cultural institutions in South Sulawesi. As a multiple minority group, Garassik Islam adherents face social exclusion that pushes them to defend their existential identity and values, including religious understanding and ritual practices. In their defense strategy, they negotiate their identity by integrating religious values and traditions, using Sufistic narratives, and interacting with other Muslim groups. This strategy allows them to maintain their religious identity and cultural diversity, establish harmonious relations with the surrounding community, and provide space for the growth of Islam in the rich cultural context of Tana Toraja.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the form of implementation of melipo in the Mandar community and the perspective of Islamic education regarding the implementation of melipo in the Mandar community. This type of research is qualitative, with surveys, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. The results of this study show that the implementation of melipo in the Mandar community is carried out at certain times, starting from the second day after the burial of the body until three or seven days later. Apart from that, melipo is carried out by several people, such as the priest (who will pray), family, and neighbors or friends, while carrying certain objects required for the melipo activity. The perspective of Islamic education regarding the implementation of melipo in Mandar society is in line with the Al-Qur'an, hadith, and the views of Muslim scholars or scholars. It can be seen from the educational values contained in the melipo tradition, such as that the world is not an eternal place; no one can escape death; graves are humans’ last place; Zuhud is the authenticity of life in the world; bringing up feelings of humanity, creating a sense of empathy, eroding arrogance, avoiding greed or covetousness; unity is very important; helping is urgently needed; brotherhood between people needs to be maintained; praying for those who preceded you; and reflection on attitudes and behavior.

Abstract

Chinese Muslims in Indonesia are still seen as a "marginal" part of the Muslim community. They have basically embraced Islam but sometimes people see them as something other than them. That is, changes in the religious status of the Chinese Muslim community have not affected their social status as a whole. They still face social challenges due to their previous ethnic background. In addition, Chinese Muslims also have to face strict cultural challenges from Chinese in general. They must be able to conform to those traditions before they convert. Chinese Muslims in Polewali Mandar encountered the same challenge but they were able to find a solution to the challenge. For this reason, this article uses qualitative research methods with an Oral History approach. The data was obtained by conducting interviews with Chinese Muslims in Polewali Mandar. The data is in the form of their stories, processes, and experiences as converts. Starting from their stories of converting to Islam, while observing Islamic law, their interaction with the Polewali Mandar community and interaction between their fellow people. This article found that the Muslim Chinese in Polewali Mandar had been accepted by the community. The social conditions they face can be lived well. However, the Chinese stigma is quite difficult to escape from them. They still sometimes get marginalization but the level is quite different from other Chinese. They struggle with the Islamic Faith, that they are part of the majority in Polewali Mandar. Culturally, they can adapt well without having to abandon their old traditions.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of research on the tradition of Cacah Jiwa or prah-prahan in Kasepuhan Cisungsang Lebak, Banten. Banten is inhabited by the diversity of population backgrounds, cultures, languages, and religions that makes Banten as an attractive area and holds the potential for conflict. Conflicts that often occur are always related to the contestation between adherents of religion (Islam) and adherents of various local beliefs, which are still held by some Banten residents, especially those who live in the kasepuhan community. This paper, using interview and observation methods in data collection, aims to analyze how the tradition of prah-prahan is still maintained. This paper shows that Cacah Jiwa ritual is maintained by mixing and matching with Islamic teachings as a belief that recently come. This ritual signifies that indigenous peoples prioritize modes of adaptation in maintaining their traditions. This dismisses the view that there is a contestation between traditional actors and religious teachings and their adherents. For the indigenous people of Kasepuhan Cisungsang, tradition must not violate religious law; traditional practices and religious practices must be within the corridor of state law. Cacah Jiwa contains various prayers to The Almighty, which are read by the perpetrators, conveying wasilah to the ancestors, both the propagator of the religion they profess and the traditional ancestors. These prayers describe their beliefs as followers of Islamic religion. This tradition also teaches the indigenous community to be sensitive to the condition of their relatives, continue to build friendships, and uphold brotherhood.

Abstract

In an increasingly integrated and connected era of globalization, cultural identity becomes important in maintaining the diversity and uniqueness of each human group. This research changes the traditional cultural identity of "Nyadran" in the context of the globalization era, using a contemporary anthropological perspective. "Nyadran" is a Javanese cultural tradition that is historically closely linked to local values and local community beliefs. However, along with the development of the era of globalization, this tradition has undergone a significant transformation in an effort to adapt to ever-changing global flows. Using contemporary anthropological research methods, this research involves active participation in the "Nyadran" event as well as interviews with practitioners and participants of this tradition. Data analysis reveals how local elements in "Nyadran" interact with global influences, such as technology, mass media, and changes in social values. In addition, this research explores how globalization can influence the concept of local cultural identity and how local communities react to these changes. The results of this research provide in-depth insight into the dynamics of changing cultural identity in the era of globalization, highlighting the complexity of the relationship between traditional and modern elements in the context of "Nyadran".
