Abstract

This study examines how religious-based habituation strengthens school culture and fosters interreligious harmony in a religiously diverse public elementary school. Although previous research has explored school culture and religious habituation separately, empirical evidence is limited on how daily religious routines can function as inclusive social mechanisms that promote interfaith tolerance. This study addresses this gap by analyzing the implementation and impact of religious habituation at SDN 116 Cicaheum. A mixed-methods sequential exploratory design was employed. Qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, and documentation. Quantitative data were obtained from questionnaires administered to 30 sixth-grade students and analyzed using validity and reliability testing, followed by simple linear regression. The findings show that religious habituation is implemented through daily routines such as the 5S movement, collective prayers, and Qur’anic recitation, as well as weekly activities including Dhuha prayer, short sermons, and mini religious projects. These practices are designed inclusively, allowing students of different faiths to participate through alternative moral and social activities. Quantitative analysis indicates a positive and significant effect of religious habituation on school culture, with a regression coefficient of 1.645 and a significance value below 0.001. The study demonstrates that inclusive religious habituation not only strengthens students’ spiritual character but also creates structured opportunities for interfaith interaction aligned with Intergroup Contact Theory. It concludes that adaptive habituation programs can be effective strategies for cultivating tolerance and a a harmonious school culture in multicultural educational settings. AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana habituasi berbasis religius berkontribusi pada penguatan budaya sekolah dan penumbuhan harmoni antarumat beragama di sebuah sekolah dasar negeri yang memiliki keragaman agama. Meskipun penelitian sebelumnya telah membahas budaya sekolah dan habituasi religius secara terpisah, masih terbatas bukti empiris yang menjelaskan bagaimana rutinitas keagamaan harian dapat berfungsi sebagai mekanisme sosial inklusif yang mendorong toleransi antaragama. Penelitian ini mengisi kesenjangan tersebut dengan menganalisis implementasi dan dampak habituasi religius di SDN 116 Cicaheum. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain mixed methods sequential exploratory. Data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa, serta dokumentasi. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang diberikan kepada 30 siswa kelas VI dan dianalisis melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, serta regresi linier sederhana. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa habituasi religius dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan harian seperti gerakan 5S, doa bersama, dan pembacaan Al‑Qur’an, serta kegiatan mingguan seperti salat Dhuha, kultum, dan proyek religius mini. Praktik-praktik ini dirancang secara inklusif sehingga siswa dari berbagai agama dapat berpartisipasi melalui aktivitas moral dan sosial alternatif. Analisis kuantitatif menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan habituasi religius terhadap budaya sekolah, dengan koefisien regresi sebesar 1,645 dan nilai signifikansi di bawah 0,001. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa habituasi religius yang inklusif tidak hanya memperkuat karakter spiritual siswa tetapi juga menciptakan peluang interaksi antaragama yang terstruktur sesuai dengan Intergroup Contact Theory. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa program habituasi yang adaptif dapat menjadi strategi efektif untuk menumbuhkan toleransi dan budaya sekolah yang harmonis dalam konteks pendidikan multikultural.

Abstract

Religious conflict in Central Java continues to manifest through social tensions, rejection of houses of worship, and identity‑based disputes. Although previous studies have examined religious moderation and state policy, limited research has systematically analyzed how youth organizations develop preventive peacebuilding strategies at the local level. This study addresses this gap by examining youth‑led initiatives through the combined lenses of Intergroup Contact Theory and Social Capital Theory. This study employed a descriptive qualitative design using multiple case studies in Temanggung, Purworejo, Kudus, Jepara, and Semarang, Central Java. Data were collected from interviews, observations of interfaith activities and documentation from civil society organizations. Thematic analysis was used to identify cross‑case patterns of youth intervention. The findings indicate three key results. First, youth act as social mediators who facilitate intergroup dialogue and de‑escalate tensions in cases involving blasphemy accusations, inter‑organizational disputes, and contested burial practices. Second, youth initiatives such as Peace School, Peace Cottage, and interfaith youth forums strengthen bridging social capital and create structured intergroup contact that reduces prejudice. Third, youth networks contribute to policy shifts at the district level, including more inclusive procedures for worship‑house permits. These findings demonstrate that youth are central actors in grassroots conflict prevention, not merely beneficiaries of state‑led moderation programs. The study concludes that integrating intergroup contact and social capital provides a robust framework for understanding youth‑based peacebuilding and recommends that local governments institutionalize youth participation in early warning and conflict‑prevention mechanisms.  Abstrak Konflik keagamaan di Jawa Tengah terus muncul melalui ketegangan sosial, penolakan rumah ibadah, dan sengketa berbasis identitas. Meskipun berbagai penelitian telah membahas moderasi beragama dan kebijakan negara, kajian yang secara sistematis menganalisis bagaimana organisasi kepemudaan mengembangkan strategi pembangunan perdamaian yang bersifat preventif di tingkat lokal masih terbatas. Studi ini mengisi kesenjangan tersebut dengan menelaah inisiatif pemuda melalui pendekatan gabungan Teori Kontak Antarkelompok dan Teori Modal Sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif dengan studi multi‑kasus di Temanggung, Purworejo, Kudus, Jepara, dan Semarang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi kegiatan lintas iman, serta dokumentasi dari organisasi masyarakat sipil. Analisis tematik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi pola intervensi pemuda lintas kasus. Temuan menunjukkan tiga hasil utama. Pertama, pemuda berperan sebagai mediator sosial yang memfasilitasi dialog antarkelompok dan meredakan ketegangan dalam kasus tuduhan penistaan agama, perselisihan antarorganisasi, dan praktik pemakaman yang diperdebatkan. Kedua, inisiatif seperti Sekolah Damai, Pondok Damai, dan forum pemuda lintas iman memperkuat modal sosial bridging dan menciptakan kontak antarkelompok yang terstruktur sehingga mengurangi prasangka. Ketiga, jejaring pemuda berkontribusi pada perubahan kebijakan di tingkat kabupaten, termasuk prosedur perizinan rumah ibadah yang lebih inklusif. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa pemuda merupakan aktor kunci dalam pencegahan konflik berbasis komunitas, bukan sekadar penerima manfaat program moderasi negara. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi kontak antarkelompok dan modal sosial merupakan kerangka yang kuat untuk memahami pembangunan perdamaian berbasis pemuda dan merekomendasikan agar pemerintah daerah menginstitusikan partisipasi pemuda dalam mekanisme deteksi dini dan pencegahan konflik

Abstract

Religious moderation has gained increasing scholarly attention as societies confront rising polarization, yet existing research remains fragmented between normative discourse and policy-driven interpretations. Few studies systematically map how the field has evolved conceptually and how it intersects with interfaith harmony at a global level. This study addresses this gap by conducting a Systematic Literature Review using the PRISMA protocol combined with bibliometric analysis to examine Scopus-indexed publications on religious moderation from 2016 to 2025. The dataset consists of 235 peer-reviewed journal articles, and the analysis integrates descriptive statistics, thematic coding, and VOSviewer-based mapping of co-authorship and keyword networks. The findings show a rapid expansion of research after 2020, with Indonesia emerging as the dominant contributor and education-related contexts becoming the most frequently explored domain. Bibliometric mapping identifies three major thematic clusters: religious moderation in educational and civic settings, local wisdom and cultural practices, and digital-era challenges related to radicalism and polarization. Conceptually, the field is shifting from state-centered narratives toward relational ethics that emphasize interfaith coexistence. These results highlight the need for broader cross-regional collaboration and more comparative, theory-driven studies that move beyond national policy frameworks. The study concludes that religious moderation is evolving into a multidisciplinary lens for understanding interfaith relations and recommends future research focusing on leadership, digital citizenship, and community-based interfaith engagement.    Abstrak Moderasi beragama semakin mendapat perhatian akademik seiring meningkatnya polarisasi sosial, namun penelitian yang ada masih terfragmentasi antara wacana normatif dan interpretasi berbasis kebijakan. Hanya sedikit studi yang secara sistematis memetakan perkembangan konseptual bidang ini serta keterkaitannya dengan harmoni antaragama pada tingkat global. Penelitian ini mengisi kesenjangan tersebut dengan melakukan Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis menggunakan protokol PRISMA yang dipadukan dengan analisis bibliometrik terhadap publikasi terindeks Scopus mengenai moderasi beragama pada periode 2016 hingga 2025. Dataset terdiri dari 235 artikel jurnal terbitan sejawat, dan analisis dilakukan melalui statistik deskriptif, pengodean tematik, serta pemetaan jejaring penulis dan kata kunci menggunakan VOSviewer. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan pesat penelitian setelah tahun 2020, dengan Indonesia sebagai kontributor dominan dan konteks pendidikan sebagai domain yang paling sering dikaji. Pemetaan bibliometrik mengidentifikasi tiga klaster tematik utama yaitu moderasi beragama dalam konteks pendidikan dan kewargaan, kearifan lokal dan praktik budaya, serta tantangan era digital terkait radikalisme dan polarisasi. Secara konseptual, bidang ini bergerak dari narasi berpusat pada negara menuju etika relasional yang menekankan koeksistensi antaragama. Hasil ini menegaskan perlunya kolaborasi lintas kawasan dan penelitian komparatif yang lebih berorientasi teori di luar kerangka kebijakan nasional. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa moderasi beragama berkembang menjadi lensa multidisipliner untuk memahami relasi antaragama dan merekomendasikan penelitian lanjutan mengenai kepemimpinan, kewargaan digital, dan keterlibatan antaragama berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

This study examines how the Rukun Indonesia YouTube channel constructs representations of moderate Islam through multimodal digital da’wah. Although research on online Islamic communication has expanded, few studies analyze how moderate Islamic values are articulated through integrated visual, verbal, and auditory modes, particularly within interfaith contexts. This study addresses this gap by investigating how multimodal strategies shape public perceptions of inclusive Islam. This study employed a descriptive qualitative design using 25 purposively selected podcast videos uploaded between 2022 and 2025. Data consisted of spoken narratives, visual imagery, symbolic elements, background music, and audience comments. Multimodal Discourse Analysis was used to interpret meaning-making across modes, supported by thematic coding of narrative structures and audience responses. The findings indicate that: First, humanitarian narratives and empathetic visual framing function as the primary vehicles for communicating moderate Islamic values. Second, symbols of cultural and religious diversity embedded in visual and musical elements reinforce messages of tolerance and coexistence. Third, audience responses indicate strong emotional engagement and broad acceptance from both Muslim and non-Muslim viewers, suggesting that multimodal da’wah can effectively foster interfaith understanding. These results demonstrate that digital da’wah can operate as a participatory and dialogic space that counters polarizing religious discourse. The study concludes that multimodal strategies offer significant potential for strengthening inclusive Islamic communication and recommends further research on cross-platform comparative models of moderate digital da’wah.  Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana kanal YouTube Rukun Indonesia membangun representasi Islam moderat melalui dakwah digital multimodal. Meskipun kajian mengenai komunikasi Islam daring terus berkembang, masih sedikit penelitian yang menganalisis bagaimana nilai-nilai Islam moderat diartikulasikan melalui integrasi mode visual, verbal, dan auditori, khususnya dalam konteks lintas iman. Studi ini mengisi kekosongan tersebut dengan meneliti bagaimana strategi multimodal membentuk persepsi publik terhadap Islam yang inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif dengan menganalisis 25 video podcast yang dipilih secara purposif dan diunggah antara 2022 hingga 2025. Data mencakup narasi lisan, citra visual, elemen simbolik, musik latar, serta komentar audiens. Analisis Wacana Multimodal digunakan untuk menafsirkan proses pembentukan makna lintas mode, didukung oleh pengodean tematik terhadap struktur naratif dan respons penonton. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga pola utama. Pertama, narasi kemanusiaan dan framing visual yang empatik menjadi sarana utama dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai Islam moderat. Kedua, simbol keberagaman budaya dan agama yang tertanam dalam elemen visual dan musikal memperkuat pesan toleransi dan koeksistensi. Ketiga, respons audiens menunjukkan keterlibatan emosional yang kuat dan penerimaan luas dari penonton Muslim maupun non-Muslim, yang mengindikasikan bahwa dakwah multimodal efektif dalam mendorong pemahaman lintas iman. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa dakwah digital dapat berfungsi sebagai ruang dialogis dan partisipatif yang mampu menandingi wacana keagamaan yang memecah belah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi multimodal memiliki potensi signifikan dalam memperkuat komunikasi Islam yang inklusif dan merekomendasikan penelitian lanjutan mengenai model perbandingan dakwah digital moderat lintas platform.

Abstract

This study examines the Prophet Muhammad’s interactions with non‑Muslims in the Sīrah Nabawiyyah to construct a context-sensitive model of religious moderation applicable to contemporary plural societies. Existing research often highlights his tolerance but rarely provides a systematic classification of his interactions across diverse social and political settings, leaving a gap in developing an operational framework for religious moderation. This study employs qualitative library research using primary hadith data supported by classical and contemporary exegetical and historical sources. The data were analyzed through descriptive, comparative, and contextual interpretation to map patterns of interaction in Mecca and Medina. The findings show, first, that Muhammad’s moderation was shaped by context: defensive in Mecca under persecution and protective in Medina as a political leader. Second, his interactions with non‑Muslims fall into distinct categories—adversaries, allies, captives, and family members—each demonstrating different ethical responses ranging from firmness toward hostile groups to justice and compassion toward peaceful communities. Third, five dimensions of moderation emerge: protection in social authority, justice in law enforcement, synergy in socio-economic relations, empathy in social and environmental engagement, and freedom in religious practice. These findings offer an empirically grounded framework for strengthening interfaith harmony, informing policy, and enhancing religious education. The study concludes that moderation in Islam is dynamic and adaptable, providing practical guidance for managing diversity in modern societies.  Abstrak Penelitian ini menelaah interaksi Nabi Muhammad dengan non‑Muslim dalam Sīrah Nabawiyyah untuk membangun model moderasi beragama yang peka konteks dan relevan bagi masyarakat plural kontemporer. Penelitian sebelumnya sering menyoroti sikap toleransi beliau, tetapi jarang menyediakan klasifikasi sistematis atas interaksi beliau dalam berbagai setting sosial dan politik, sehingga menyisakan kesenjangan dalam pengembangan kerangka moderasi beragama yang operasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka dengan data primer berupa hadis, didukung sumber tafsir dan sejarah klasik maupun kontemporer. Data dianalisis melalui pendekatan deskriptif, komparatif, dan interpretasi kontekstual untuk memetakan pola interaksi di Makkah dan Madinah. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan, pertama, bahwa moderasi Muhammad dibentuk oleh konteks: bersifat defensif di Makkah ketika mengalami penindasan dan protektif di Madinah ketika memimpin komunitas politik. Kedua, interaksi beliau dengan non‑Muslim terbagi dalam beberapa kategori: musuh, sekutu, tawanan, dan anggota keluarga, yang masing‑masing menampilkan respons etis berbeda, mulai dari ketegasan terhadap kelompok bermusuhan hingga keadilan dan kasih sayang terhadap komunitas yang damai. Ketiga, muncul lima dimensi moderasi: perlindungan dalam otoritas sosial, keadilan dalam penegakan hukum, sinergi dalam hubungan sosial‑ekonomi, empati dalam relasi sosial dan lingkungan, serta kebebasan dalam praktik keagamaan. Temuan ini menawarkan kerangka empiris untuk memperkuat harmoni antaragama, mendukung perumusan kebijakan, dan meningkatkan pendidikan keagamaan. Abstract

This study analyzes how interfaith solidarity is negotiated and institutionalized within post-disaster humanitarian governance, focusing on the interaction between the Christian-based YAKKUM Emergency Unit (YEU) and Muslim communities affected by the 2022 Cianjur earthquake in Indonesia. Adopting a sociological approach to religion and humanitarian governance, this research employed a qualitative, in-depth case study design to examine the socially embedded processes of legitimacy, cooperation, and moral negotiation in a religiously homogeneous setting. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 24 informants, participatory observation across multiple emergency and recovery sites, and analysis of institutional and policy documents. They were analyzed using thematic analysis supported by NVivo 12 Plus. The findings identify four interrelated dimensions that enabled constructive interfaith engagement: equality of status between humanitarian actors and affected communities, shared humanitarian goals grounded in collective moral commitment, intergroup cooperation enacted through participatory practices, and institutional and normative support from state agencies and religious authorities. These dimensions demonstrate that interfaith solidarity in disaster contexts is not a spontaneous moral response, but an institutionalized social practice embedded within local cultural values such as gotong royong and universal compassion. The study contributes to the literature by extending Intergroup Contact Theory into a socio-normative and institutional framework, highlighting the role of cultural legitimacy and governance structures in shaping interfaith relations during crises. Practically, the findings offer empirically grounded insights for strengthening inclusive humanitarian governance and for developing capacity-building frameworks for faith-based organizations operating across religious boundaries in plural societies. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana solidaritas lintas iman dinegosiasikan dan diinstitusionalisasikan dalam tata kelola kemanusiaan pascabencana, dengan fokus pada interaksi antara YAKKUM Emergency Unit (YEU) yang berbasis Kristen dan komunitas Muslim terdampak gempa Cianjur tahun 2022. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologis terhadap agama dan tata kelola kemanusiaan, penelitian ini menerapkan desain studi kasus intrinsik kualitatif untuk menelaah proses sosial yang terlekat pada pembentukan legitimasi, kerja sama, dan negosiasi moral dalam konteks masyarakat yang relatif homogen secara keagamaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap 24 informan, observasi partisipatif pada berbagai lokasi tanggap darurat dan pemulihan, serta analisis dokumen kelembagaan dan kebijakan, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik dengan bantuan NVivo 12 Plus. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan empat dimensi yang saling berkaitan dalam membentuk interaksi lintas iman yang konstruktif, yaitu kesetaraan status antara aktor kemanusiaan dan masyarakat terdampak, tujuan kemanusiaan bersama yang berlandaskan komitmen moral kolektif, kerja sama antarkelompok yang diwujudkan melalui praktik partisipatif, serta dukungan institusional dan normatif dari negara dan otoritas keagamaan. Keempat dimensi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa solidaritas lintas iman dalam konteks kebencanaan bukanlah respons moral yang spontan, melainkan praktik sosial yang terinstitusionalisasi dan berakar pada nilai-nilai budaya lokal seperti gotong royong dan welas asih universal. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini berkontribusi dengan memperluas Teori Kontak Antarkelompok ke dalam ranah sosio-normatif dan institusional, dengan menekankan peran legitimasi budaya dan struktur tata kelola dalam membentuk relasi lintas iman pada situasi krisis. Abstract

The issue of racism and racial discrimination requires deeper exploration, as these phenomena continue to persist as global concers that are highly sensitive and resistant to resolution. Racism often triggers escalating social tensions and conflicts that significantly affect interreligious relations, even though such problems do not always originate from religious differences. In this regard, an approach that integrates religious moderation with local wisdom is considered vital in establishing sustainable social harmony. Local wisdom serves as a bridge that connects cultural values and spirituality within a pluralistic society, fostering mutual respect and tolerance among people of different faiths particularly in the context of Islam and Christian relations. However, the role of local wisdom in facilitating religious moderation across diverse racial backgrounds remains underexplored. Therefore, this study aim to fill the gap. The research employs in depth observation and interviews as data collection methods, with Tana Toraja selected as the research site due to its well known cultural pluralism and strong religious identity. The primary informants consist of religious leaders, traditional elders, community leaders, and practitioners who play crucial roles in maintaining social and cultural cohesion. The findings reveal that: 1) the Torajan people are able to preserve and respect their religious traditions while remaining open to external influences and societal change; 2) the integration of local wisdom into religious moderation in Toraja holds significant potential for fostering harmony among religious communities while preserving valuable cultural traditions; and 3) the prevention of racism through the application of local wisdom emphasizes the importance of understanding, respecting, and promoting local cultural values and customs particularly through the developments of the tourism industry as a new platform of interreligious appreciation, dialogue, and cultural coexistence.

Abstract

This study addresses a critical gap in the literature on interfaith harmony in Indonesia, where existing research predominantly emphasizes normative principles of Pancasila while offering limited analytical models that map multi‑actor collaboration in policy implementation. The purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual framework for collaborative policy implementation using the Quintuple Helix model to strengthen the institutionalization of religious values and tolerance. A qualitative research design was employed, drawing on policy documents and academic literature published between 2000 and 2025. Data were analyzed through systematic literature review procedures, including screening, thematic coding, and conceptual synthesis. The analysis was guided by the Quintuple Helix framework to identify actor roles, interaction patterns, and governance mechanisms. The findings reveal three key insights. First, effective promotion of religious values and tolerance requires coordinated engagement among government, academia, civil society, the private sector, and media. Second, the state remains the primary driver of interfaith harmony, yet non‑state actors contribute essential knowledge, social capital, and communication functions. Third, existing governance arrangements remain fragmented, indicating the need for a more integrated collaborative model. These findings imply that interfaith harmony policies must shift from normative dissemination toward structured multi‑actor governance. The study concludes by proposing a Quintuple Helix–based model that offers theoretical advancement in religious harmony governance and practical guidance for policymakers designing collaborative interfaith programs. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengisi kesenjangan penting dalam studi mengenai kerukunan antarumat beragama di Indonesia, di mana studi terdahulu lebih banyak menekankan prinsip normatif Pancasila dan belum menyediakan model analitis yang memetakan kolaborasi multiaktor dalam implementasi kebijakan. Tujuan artikel ini adalah mengembangkan kerangka konseptual untuk implementasi kebijakan kolaboratif dengan menggunakan model Quintuple Helix guna memperkuat internalisasi nilai-nilai keagamaan dan toleransi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif dengan memanfaatkan dokumen kebijakan dan literatur akademik yang terbit antara tahun 2000 hingga 2025. Data dianalisis melalui prosedur tinjauan pustaka sistematis, termasuk penyaringan, pengodean tematik, dan sintesis konseptual. Analisis dipandu oleh kerangka Quintuple Helix untuk mengidentifikasi peran aktor, pola interaksi, dan mekanisme tata kelola. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan tiga hal utama. Pertama, promosi nilai keagamaan dan toleransi yang efektif memerlukan keterlibatan terkoordinasi antara pemerintah, akademisi, masyarakat sipil, sektor swasta, dan media. Kedua, negara tetap menjadi penggerak utama kerukunan antarumat beragama, namun aktor non-negara menyediakan kontribusi penting berupa pengetahuan, modal sosial, dan fungsi komunikasi. Ketiga, pengaturan tata kelola yang ada masih terfragmentasi sehingga memerlukan model kolaboratif yang lebih terintegrasi. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan perlunya pergeseran kebijakan kerukunan dari pendekatan normatif menuju tata kelola multiaktor yang terstruktur. Studi ini menyimpulkan dengan menawarkan model berbasis Quintuple Helix yang memberikan kontribusi teoretis bagi tata kelola kerukunan beragama serta panduan praktis bagi pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang program kolaboratif lintas aktor.

Abstract

This study explores how intolerant language circulating on TikTok and Instagram reshapes public understandings of religious freedom in Indonesia. Although previous research has mapped hate speech forms or explored media–religion relations, few studies have integrated linguistic, pragmatic, and ideological analyses to explain how intolerance operates as symbolic power in digital environments. This research addresses that gap by analysing how intolerant expressions are produced, circulated, and interpreted within high-engagement online controversies. The study employs a descriptive qualitative design using Critical Discourse Analysis and social pragmatics. The dataset consists of 480 comment units from 130 public accounts on TikTok, Instagram, and X, complemented by 12 online news texts collected between January 2023 and August 2025. Analytical procedures include linguistic categorisation, pragmatic mapping of speech acts, and ideological interpretation of discursive power. The findings show, first, that intolerant language functions as a symbolic authority that reinforces moral hegemony and marginalises alternative religious viewpoints. Second, algorithmic amplification shifts religious freedom from a rights-based principle toward a visibility-driven performance shaped by emotional engagement. Third, counter‑discourses promoting respect and equality receive limited circulation, indicating an asymmetrical discursive ecology. These results suggest that digital platforms not only host but also structure negotiations of religious freedom. The study concludes that strengthening critical linguistic literacy and improving content governance are essential for safeguarding pluralism in Indonesia’s digital public sphere.  Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana bahasa intoleran yang beredar di TikTok dan Instagram membentuk ulang pemahaman publik mengenai kebebasan beragama di Indonesia. Meskipun penelitian sebelumnya telah memetakan bentuk ujaran kebencian atau menelaah hubungan antara media dan agama, hanya sedikit studi yang mengintegrasikan analisis linguistik, pragmatik, dan ideologis untuk menjelaskan bagaimana intoleransi beroperasi sebagai kekuatan simbolik dalam lingkungan digital. Penelitian ini mengisi kekosongan tersebut dengan menganalisis bagaimana ekspresi intoleran diproduksi, disirkulasikan, dan ditafsirkan dalam kontroversi daring yang memiliki tingkat interaksi tinggi. Studi ini menggunakan desain kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis dan pragmatik sosial. Dataset terdiri atas 480 unit komentar dari 130 akun publik di TikTok, Instagram, dan X, dilengkapi dengan 12 teks berita daring yang dikumpulkan antara Januari 2023 hingga Agustus 2025. Prosedur analisis meliputi kategorisasi linguistik, pemetaan tindak tutur secara pragmatik, dan interpretasi ideologis terhadap dinamika kekuasaan dalam wacana. Temuan menunjukkan, pertama, bahwa bahasa intoleran berfungsi sebagai otoritas simbolik yang memperkuat hegemoni moral dan meminggirkan pandangan keagamaan alternatif. Kedua, amplifikasi algoritmik menggeser kebebasan beragama dari prinsip berbasis hak menuju performativitas yang ditentukan oleh visibilitas dan resonansi emosional. Ketiga, wacana tandingan yang mempromosikan rasa hormat dan kesetaraan memperoleh sirkulasi yang terbatas, menandakan ekologi wacana yang tidak seimbang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa platform digital tidak hanya menjadi ruang ekspresi, tetapi juga struktur yang membentuk negosiasi kebebasan beragama. Abstract

Interfaith harmony remains a critical challenge in Indonesia’s plural society, where intolerance persists despite normative policy frameworks. Existing scholarship has rarely provided a systematic conceptual model linking Islamic compassion-based values to measurable indicators of harmony. Addressing this gap, this study examines the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta (Love-Based Curriculum, KBC) and its relevance to strengthening tolerance, acceptance of difference, non-violence, and interreligious harmony. A qualitative descriptive design was employed, combining a systematic literature review of policy documents, peer-reviewed journal articles, and theoretical works. Data were extracted using a structured template and coded deductively around the values of mahabbah, rahmah, and amanah, and inductively to capture emergent themes. The analysis followed PRISMA guidelines to ensure transparency and rigor. Findings indicate three key contributions. First, KBC provides a coherent normative foundation that integrates spiritual, social, and ecological dimensions of education. Second, the values of mahabbah and rahmah are conceptually linked to empathy, tolerance, and conflict resolution, while amanah reinforces ecological responsibility and shared moral accountability. Third, the framework demonstrates that religious moderation can emerge as an outcome of KBC, moving beyond doctrinal instruction toward dialogical and inclusive practices. This study concludes that KBC offers a novel conceptual framework for embedding affective and ethical values into education. Future research should empirically test its implementation to assess its effectiveness in fostering sustainable interfaith harmony and social cohesion. ABSTRAKKerukunan antarumat beragama tetap menjadi tantangan krusial dalam masyarakat majemuk Indonesia, di mana intoleransi masih bertahan meskipun telah tersedia kerangka kebijakan normatif. Kajian sebelumnya jarang menyajikan model konseptual yang sistematis yang menghubungkan nilai-nilai berbasis cinta dalam Islam dengan indikator harmoni yang terukur. Untuk mengisi kekosongan tersebut, penelitian ini menelaah Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta (KBC) yang digagas Kementerian Agama serta relevansinya dalam memperkuat toleransi, penerimaan perbedaan, anti-kekerasan, dan kerja sama antaragama. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan tinjauan sistematis terhadap dokumen kebijakan, studi akademik dan karya teoretis. Data diekstraksi menggunakan templat terstruktur dan dikodekan secara deduktif berdasarkan nilai mahabbah, rahmah, dan amanah, serta secara induktif untuk menangkap tema-tema baru. Analisis mengikuti pedoman PRISMA guna memastikan transparansi dan ketelitian. Temuan menunjukkan tiga poin utama. Pertama, Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta menyediakan landasan normatif yang koheren dengan mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual, sosial, dan ekologis pendidikan. Kedua, nilai mahabbah dan rahmah terkait secara konseptual dengan empati, toleransi dan resolusi konflik; sedangkan amanah memperkuat tanggung jawab ekologis dan akuntabilitas moral bersama. Ketiga, kerangka ini menunjukkan bahwa moderasi beragama dapat muncul sebagai hasil dari pedagogi berbasis cinta, melampaui pengajaran doktrinal menuju praktik dialogis dan inklusif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta menawarkan kerangka konseptual baru untuk mengintegrasikan nilai afektif dan etis dalam pendidikan. Penelitian lanjutan perlu menguji implementasinya secara empiris guna menilai efektivitasnya dalam membangun kerukunan antarumat beragama dan kohesi sosial yang berkelanjutan.
