Abstract

Based on the results of a questionnaire distributed by researchers, it is known that 63% of students do not know how to control themselves. An interview with one of the UIN Malang students with the initials YH said that he already knew about self-control, but had not been able to apply it because he had not found the right method of self-control. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effect of dhikr intensity on students' self-control. This research uses a quantitative design with a self-control scale instrument referring to Averill's self-control theory with 16 items. The dhikr intensity scale refers to Makmun's theory, which has a total of 15 statement items. Data analysis uses the simple regression analysis method. The results of the research show a significance level of 0.00, which means p = 0.000 (p < 0.01), meaning that there is a significant influence between the intensity of dhikr on self-control in students and the R Square value of 0.402, This means that the intensity of dhikr can influence students' self-control by 40.2%. The results of this research also provide an illustration that dhikr done istiqomah can improve a person's self-control.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are institutions that grow and develop within the indigenous culture of the archipelago and are believed to have become the main foundation in developing Islamic treasures as well as science and human morals. Islamic boarding schools have consistently produced a generation that can respond to the challenges and dynamics of the times, especially in the context of Islamic-based education. Character education in Islamic boarding schools is mostly delivered through the typical methods and approaches inherent in this institution. Therefore, the formation of social character in Islamic boarding schools must leave a deep imprint on the students, so that it has an influence when they socialize and socialize. One of the main methods in this case is through example. The problems to be answered through this research include: 1) How do Islamic boarding schools foster social character? 2) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of social character? Data collection methods in this research include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the formation of the social character of students at the Nurul Ulum Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School is carried out through various methods, such as the example of the ustadz, curriculum implementation, and Islamic boarding school programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of internalizing religious character values ​​in religious and social activities and what religious values ​​are internalized in Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Tarbiyatut Tholabah. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, data collection through interviews, documentation, and observation with informant sources from school leaders, teachers, and students. Data validity using triangulation techniques and data analysis through data reduction, data presentation and verification or data conclusions. The findings show that the strategy of internalizing religious values ​​based on religious and social activities is carried out through first routine activities, namely congregational prayer, routine Koran reading, and activities to commemorate Islamic holidays, second Social Community Activities such as social service programs and community service, third Habitual Approach in Daily Life contained in Islamic culture and daily monitoring by teachers, fourth is the Al-Qur'an Tahfidz Program. The religious values ​​that are internalized are the values ​​of faith and obedience to worship, honesty, responsibility, simplicity, tolerance, social concern. These results highlight the potential of integrating religious and social activities in the curriculum to develop broad-minded individuals who are spiritually grounded and socially responsible. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the effectiveness of integrating religious and social activities in character education in Islamic schools that can be recommended for wider implementation in other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

In facing the digital era, Islamic education needs to adapt, one of which is through curriculum renewal or development. This is important because the curriculum plays a central role as a reference and a determinant of educational success. This research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in developing the Islamic education curriculum in facing the digital era and to provide solutions to overcome various challenges and leverage the opportunities in this digital age. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing two types of data sources: primary and secondary data. The data collection technique involves library research by reviewing literature related to the chosen topic. The challenges and opportunities highlight the importance of integrating Islamic values into the development of the Islamic education curriculum as a form of educational transformation to respond to the digital era. By understanding the various challenges, relevant and sustainable improvements can be made to enhance the quality of Islamic education. By recognizing the opportunities in the digital era, these can be utilized to improve resource quality and achieve the goals of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of eco-literacy values within the framework of teaching and learning activities, aligning with the principles of Islamic thought. Recognizing the growing importance of environmental awareness and sustainability in today’s world, this study delves into the potential synergies between Islamic values and ecological consciousness. It employs a qualitative research design, incorporating literature reviews from both Islamic principles and environmental studies. Through this multidimensional approach, the research seeks to identify the integration of eco-literacy values into diverse subjects across teaching-learning activities within an Islamic educational framework. The study also investigates the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing such an approach in educational settings, considering cultural contexts and varying levels of environmental awareness. By promoting a comprehensive understanding of ecological principles rooted in Islamic thought, this study envisions contributing to the development of environmentally conscious, responsible, and ethical individuals who integrate Islamic values into their daily lives, fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world. Abstract

The academic self-efficacy of Madrasah-Aliyah (MA) students is a description of the form of psychological dynamics of students in self-adjustment in Islamic boarding schools. Academic self-efficacy is defined as an individual's belief in his or her ability to do assignments, to manage his own learning activities, to realize academic expectations, both academic expectations from himself and from others. This study aims to describe the dynamics of academic self-efficacy of MA students in self-adjustment in pesantren. The study uses a case study research design, in the process of collecting data the researcher uses observation, interview and documentation methods. The research uses data analysis techniques that reduce data, present data and draw conclusions or verification. The research was carried out at MA Tarbiyatut Tholabah Kranji Lamongan. The results of the study show that students at MA Tarbiyatut Tholabah Kranji Lamogan who have high self-efficacy tend to be more successful in adjusting to the pesantren environment. They showed the ability to manage their time well, which had an impact on discipline and efficiency in carrying out daily routines. In addition, strong self-efficacy improves their performance, as they carry out each task with seriousness and confidence, which results in optimal results

Abstract

At the end of the Ottoman rule, Muslims experienced extraordinary setbacks in various fields. This is suspected to be due to several factors, including the difficulty of Muslims in understanding Islam, the spread of an understanding of Islam which seems old-fashioned, and the practice of practicing Islamic teachings which is considered quite deviant. One of the causes of all these causes is that the verses of the Quran that are understood are not in accordance with the context of the times. This research aims to explain interpretations with reformist-modernist nuances in the context of ideology, influence, relevant interpreters, and criticism of traditional Islam. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis based on literature study. The conclusion of this research shows that the development of reformist tafsir emerged as a response to the decline of Muslims in all aspects of life. Reformers such as Jamaluddin Al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh and Rasyid Rida had a significant influence on the development of tafsir with reformist-modernist nuances. Prominent mufassir in the archipelago who helped develop interpretations with reformist nuances include A. Hassan, Oemar Bakri, Buya Hamka, and KH. Bisri Musthofa..The leaders of the reformist movement also criticized many traditionalists who they considered to prioritize blind taqlid and were exposed to bid'ah and khurafat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan etika bisnis Islam dalam praktik usaha mikro di Indonesia. Dengan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian, usaha mikro menghadapi tantangan dalam menerapkan nilai-nilai Islam seperti kejujuran, keadilan, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif terhadap pelaku usaha mikro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman pelaku usaha mengenai etika bisnis Islam masih terbatas pada aspek normatif, sementara penerapannya dalam praktik bisnis sehari-hari kerap terhambat oleh tekanan ekonomi dan kurangnya dukungan struktural. Namun, pelaku usaha yang konsisten menerapkan prinsip Islam cenderung memiliki kepercayaan pelanggan yang lebih tinggi dan hubungan bisnis yang lebih harmonis. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi perlunya pelatihan dan kebijakan yang mendukung penerapan etika bisnis Islam secara berkelanjutan. Implikasinya, diperlukan strategi edukasi yang relevan serta penelitian lanjutan untuk mengkaji lebih dalam dampak penerapan etika bisnis Islam terhadap usaha mikro.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the concept of asbab al-nuzul in the Qur'an and the educational value contained therein. Asbab al-nuzul, which is the cause of the revelation of the Qur'anic verse, has an important role in understanding the meaning of the verse that is more contextual, as well as providing wisdom that can be applied in the world of education. Therefore, this study aims to explore the educational values that can be taken from asbab al-nuzul and how the strategy of embedding these educational values in the learning process can be used. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review as a data collection technique. The results of this study show that the educational values found in asbab al-nuzul include determination, gradual learning, relevance of the context of events to teaching materials, and the formation of disciplined and responsible characters. This study concludes that asbab al-nuzul not only functions as an explanation of the context in which the verse was revealed but also as a means to instill educational values that can be applied in Islamic education, such as increasing faith, creating interesting learning, and developing the character of students. Strategies that can be applied to instill these educational values include relevant opening techniques, counseling, and adjusting the curriculum to the conditions of students.

Abstract

The paper examines the idea of Islamization of human knowledge as formulated by Mohd. Kamal Hassan (1942-2023). It aims to survey its thoughtful and lasting impact as reflected in the context of his inspiring moral, spiritual, and religious ideals that influence intellectual tradition and metaphysical consciousness and the contemporary landscape of educational policy and practice in Malaysia. The philosophy and conceptual framework of Islamization of knowledge he developed was realized in the curriculum and policies of the International Islamic University Malaysia, whose structural formation and ideology were enshrined in the University’s constitution since its establishment in 1983. The study is based on a qualitative method in the form of a literature review and documentary survey. The data were scientifically analyzed using descriptive, analytical, historical, and synthesis frameworks to make an objective and accurate finding. The finding shows that Kamal has made a significant and influential impact in gearing the ideas of the tawhid worldview through his inspiring works that planned and implemented the principle of Islamization of knowledge in Malaysia. The study contributes to highlighting his consequential and unprecedented concept and holistic approaches in introducing a comprehensive theory and values of tawhid and its cultural manifestation through the theory of Islamization (Islamiyyatul ma‘rifat), integration of knowledge and values (takamul al-ma‘rifi), comprehensive excellence and Islamicization that help to reset the current context and progress of education and intellectual life in Malaysia
