Abstract

Biplot analysis can be constructed from  an ordinary and robust Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) approach.  A SVD approach ordinary need data matrix that no outliers or extreme data.  If a outliers data is found in this research, ordinary SVD biplot will not able to assure the mapping illustration between observation object and variable. To solve this problem, approaching method to robust SVD is applied.  The couple of  ordinary and robust SVD’ eigenvalue couple and eigenvector have distance minimizing feature among data matrix and estimation matrix with  Euclid norm or L2 norm and city block distance or L1 norm.  Biplot analysis which is based on  robust SVD method can give illustrations to a outliers resist observation object and variable.  The boxplot of the achievement of TPB IPB show that the data has outliers.  Robust and ordinary SVD to data matrix based biplot analysis shows the data graph and structure is almost identic.  It implies that outliers has no effect to data structure alteration.  A couple of extreme datas are given to the data matrix and then anlysised using ordinary and robust SVD. Ordinary SVD biplot result is far more different from data matrix biplot without extreme data, in the other hand robust SVD biplot shows small data structure which means it is not influenced by extreme data..

Abstract

This study aims to explore the misconceptions that occur in group theory learning conducted by pre-service mathematic teachers.  This research is part of a long research from abstraction in learning group theory: study of hermeneutic phenomenology on pre-service mathematics teachers.  This research method uses case study in qualitative research.  Data obtained in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) videos and pdf files of partisipan diaries.  The findings of this study indicate a misconception on group as set and subset as subgroup and on the inverse element as only one over in multiplication.  These two misconceptions show from misunderstanding and misperseption.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis ditinjau dari self confidence siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek pada kelas VIIIB SMP Negeri 3 Losari sebanyak 6 siswa dengan kategori self confidence tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen terdiri atas angket self confidence, tes tertulis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, dan wawancara yang telah diuji terlebih dahulu oleh ahli matematika dan kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan 3 tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kategori self confidence tinggi mampu memenuhi 4 indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menurut Polya, siswa kategori self confidence sedang hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator diantaranya menyusun rencana, dan melihat kembali jawaban keseluruhan. Sedangkan siswa kategori self confidence rendah tidak mampu memenuhi indikator memahami masalah, menyusun rencana, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, maupun melihat kembali jawaban keseluruhan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi self confidence yang dimiliki maka akan lebih mudah dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan matematis, dan sebaliknya jikalau self confidence siswa rendah maka akan lebih sulit juga dalam menyelesaikannya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan penguasaan konsep matematis peserta didik pada materi jarak dalam ruang berbantuan video pembelajaran berbasis geogebra. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik berdasarkan definisi yang dikemukakan oleh Pollatsek, Skemp dan Copeland. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XII.IPA SMA Negeri 2 Banjar tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 10-15 peserta didik yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbasis geogebra ini dapat mengoptimalkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik pada materi jarak dalam ruang.

Abstract

Eksistensi matematika dalam berbagai tradisi masyarakat Indonesia telah lama menjadi objek kajian etnomatematika. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tradisi Wirid Yaa Lathif di kalangan Thoriqoh Qodiriyyah Naqsyabandiyyah (TQN) Suryalaya yang diamalkan sebanyak 14.461 kali dan dipercaya memiliki beberapa keutamaan bagi pengamalanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas penentuan jumlah bilangan pada wirid Yaa Lathif, dan konsep matematis dalam pengamalan wirid Yaa Lathif di TQN Suryalaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan dua pendekatan yaitu etnografi dan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 15 orang yang merupakan pengamal wirid Yaa Lathif (Ikhwan maupun Non Ikhwan), serta wakil talqin Mursyid TQN. Lokasi penelitian berada di Pesantren Sirnarasa Panjalu dan Padepokan Talangraga Tasikmalaya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis data menurut Miles dan Huberman. Uji keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penentuan jumlah bilangan pada wirid Yaa Lathif dengan jumlah 129 didasarkan pada nilai Abjadiyyah Kubra, sedangkan 16.641 didasarkan pada penggunaan metode penguadratan dari nilai Abjadiyyah Kubra atau dapat disebut dengan istilah tadh’if; (2) Konsep matematis yang terdapat dalam pengamalan wirid Yaa Lathif yaitu menghitung, mengestimasi dan komulatif.

Abstract

Ketika Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) secara fenomenal diakui sebagai kerangka kerja profesional guru, banyak para peneliti berlomba untuk mengkonseptualisasikan kerangka kerja tersebut berdasarkan pada disiplin ilmu. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa TPACK merupakan kerangka kerja yang sifatnya terbuka untuk beragam pendekatan terutama dikaitkan dengan praktik pembelajaran. Dalam artikel ini, suatu meta-sintesis digunakan untuk menganalisis 8 buah jurnal dari 35 buah jurnal internasional pada rentang 2009-2022 yang dipandang relevan dan paling merepresentasikan keragaman dari konseptualisasi TPACK pada pembelajaran matematika. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pendekatan meta-agregasi dimulai dari: memformulasikan pertanyaan penelitian, penelusuran literatur jurnal, analisis-sistesis temuan kualitatif, dan pengendalian mutu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TPACK dalam matematika (disebutkan sebagai Technological, Pedagogical, Mathematical Knowledge/TPMK) dikonseptualisasikan secara berbeda-beda berdasarkan karakteristik yang termuat pada pengetahuan dasar: TK (Technological Knowledge), CK (Content Knowledge)/MCK (Mathematical Content Knowledge), dan PK (Pedagogical Knowledge). Ketiga pengetahuan dasar ini tentu saja akan turut mempengaruhi konseptualisasi pengetahuan perantara: TPK (Technological Pedagogical Knowledge), TMK (Technological Mathematical Content Knowledge), PMK (Pedagogical Mathematical Content Knowledge), dan TPMK.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an effective learning design for understanding the concept of exponentiation by applying the Discovery Learning model using the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) as the framework foundation. The research method used is a design research method consisting of three main stages: preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The initial stage involves literature analysis and the design of an HLT tailored to the concept of exponentiation. The instructional design is based on the prepared HLT and tested through two experimental stages: pilot experiment and teaching experiment. Retrospective analysis is conducted to compare the initial HLT with the Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) achieved during the learning process. Data is collected through observation to monitor learning activities and environmental conditions, as well as through recordings of learning activities to gain an understanding of student participation in the design experiments. Additionally, Student Worksheets (SW) are used as aids for students to understand the concept of exponentiation, and evaluation questions are used to measure students' learning outcomes in the subject matter. Interviews are also conducted to gain a deeper understanding from the student's perspective. The results of this research make a significant contribution to the development of more effective mathematics learning methods, particularly in understanding the concept of exponentiation, and provide guidance for teachers to design learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives. The implications of the research results provide guidelines for teachers in designing learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah rendahnya aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa di jenjang sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu fluency, flexibility, originality, serta elaboration melalui teknik pembelajaran berorientasi proses dengan panduan penyelidikan (process-oriented guided-inquiry learning/POGIL). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengacu kepada langkah-langkah model Hopkins. Penelitian ini terdiri dari empat siklus yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi, dengan semua siswa kelas VII-F SMP Al-Qonaah sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan tes formatif. Berdasarkan analisis data tentang lembar observasi dan hasil tes formatif, menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa meningkat setelah menggunakan teknik process-oriented guided-inquiry learning (POGIL). Peningkatan terjadi disemua jenis aktivitas yang diamati baik pada kegiatan-kegiatan visual, lisan, mendengarkan, menulis, menggambar, metrik, mental, dan emosional.

Abstract

To improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities, it is of course important to look at cognitive and affective aspects together, to see more broadly whether affective factors play an important role in mathematical reasoning abilities. This research aims to determine the differences in self-efficacy between male and female genders, differences in mathematical reasoning abilities between male and female genders, and the influence of self-efficacy on students' mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of gender. The research method used in this research is a correlational method with an ex post facto research design. The population of this study were all class VII students at SMP Negeri 20 Tasikmalaya. The sample in this research was obtained using non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique from the existing population. Classes VII-B, VII-C, VII-D, VII-E were selected as sample classes with a total of 102 students. The data collection technique is by giving a mathematical reasoning ability test and a self-efficacy questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test, and two way ANOVA. Based on data processing, data analysis, and hypothesis testing, research results showed that (1) There are differences in self-efficacy between male and female genders, (2) There are no differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities between male and female genders, (3) There is no influence of self-efficacy on students' mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of gender. These findings certainly show that affective aspects do have a role in determining students' abilities, but of course some affective aspects have a significant role, some only influence a small part.

Abstract

The importance of mathematical literacy skills is often not matched by the availability of supportive questions that aid in improving these abilities. Therefore, this study aims to develop valid and practical mathematical literacy questions specifically on the topic of circles, suitable for eighth-grade junior high school students. Employing the ADDIE model of research and development (RD), which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, the research involved 32 eighth-grade students as subjects. Instruments utilized included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a mathematical literacy test. Data analysis techniques encompassed both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Results from expert validation and student response questionnaires indicated that the developed instruments are both valid and practical. Expert validation tests achieved an 86% success rate overall, with 88% validity for material aspects, 88% for construction aspects, and 83% for language aspects. Validity testing, reliability testing, and item discrimination analysis confirmed the questions' validity, reliability, and appropriateness. The student response questionnaire yielded an 87% success rate, indicating high practicality for educational use. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the developed mathematical literacy questions in enhancing students' mathematical literacy skills and suggest their suitability for integration into the teaching process.
