Abstract

Students' mathematical communication is stated to be low because students learn by listening and seeing the teacher solve mathematical problems and students have difficulty in expressing everyday events in mathematical models. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) type of cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills better than using scientific learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of research Quasi-Experimental Design and the design of this research The Nonequivalent Postets-Only Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Nisam, while the samples were class VIIIB as the experimental class and class VIII-A as the control class with the sampling technique of purposive sampling. The data collection technique in this study used a mathematical communication ability test. The data analysis was carried out for the mathematical communication ability test using the t-test because the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, the data were processed using SPSS 18 software and the hypothesis test results were obtained with a significant value of 0.000 less than 0.05, which means reject H0 and accept Ha. The results showed that there was an effect of the Inside-Outside Circle (IOC) type of cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

ThisĀ  study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students of class VIII 3 SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia which is known from the observations. The research objective was to determine the improvement of learning outcomes in the Pascal Law material for class VIII 3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia by using project based learning (pjbl) of learning model. This research is a type of classroom action research with a model developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The study subjects were students of class VIII 3, with a total of 16 students. The techniques used in data collection are tests, observation, interviews and documentation. This study consisted of 2 (two) cycles where there were two meetings in each cycle. The data analysis technique used a qualitative descriptive analysis. The study success criteria set for student learning outcomes is 75 for a scale of 1-100 grading. The results showed that the application of the project based learning (pjbl) of learning model could improve the learning outcomes of class VIII 3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia. The average learning outcomes in cycle I was 73.16 and in cycle II increased to 82.51. In conclusion, the application of the project based learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science learning class VIII 3 SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality management of Islamic higher education at STIT Al Hikmah Tebing Tinggi. The research method used in this research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found that planning activities included the activities of the tri dharma tertiary programs, both the development of the vision and mission or the programs carried out based on the results of the evaluation. Meanwhile, the implementation activities include detailing the budget needed to improve the quality of education in the implementation of all forms of academic process activities. The implementation of all work programs that have been arranged according to the time schedule in the semester time period, then compile the details of the needs in carrying out the program that has been planned in the academic process for evaluation purposes. Its detailed the budget for the need to improve the quality of education for the purpose of implementing all forms of academic process activities. The implementation of all work programs that have been arranged according to the time schedule in the semester time period, arrange the details of the needs in implementing the program that has been planned in the academic process for evaluation purposes. Supervision activities include each academic community that has been determined to provide reports on the progress of program activities that have been carried out in each part of the academic work program that has been announced in the planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the teaching factory on readiness to work through the competence of students. This research was conducted at SMKN 2 Mojokerto. This research is an ex-post facto research. The population of this study were students of class XI and class XII of the catering service program at SMKN 2 Mojokerto, totaling 193 students. The research sampling technique was simple random sampling and calculated using the Slovin formula, so that the number of research samples was 130 students. The data analysis technique used path analysis. Research data collection uses a questionnaire instrument on the variables of teaching factory implementation and readiness to work, while for competence using tests and observation sheets. Before being distributed to research respondents, a validation test was first conducted on each research instrument. In line with the objectives, the results of the study show that: (1) the implementation of the teaching factory has a positive effect on the competence of students at SMKN 2 Mojokerto; (2) The implementation of the teaching factory has a positive effect on the readiness to work of the students at SMKN 2 Mojokerto; (3) The competence of students has a positive effect on the readiness to work of students at SMKN 2 Mojokerto; and (4) the implementation of the teaching factory has a positive effect on the readiness to work of students at SMKN 2 Mojokerto through the competence of students.

Abstract

This study was intended to investigate the influence of inquiry learning approach assisted with square word media toward students mathematical understanding ability in learning mathematics. This study was conducted through quantitative research procedures namely quasi-experimental design. The populations were all students of class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. The samples were 25 students of class X MIA 1 and 25 students of class X MIA 2, selected by purposive sampling. The nonequivalent posttest-only control group design was used. The data were obtained from the post-test results of the students mathematical understanding; they were analyzed by using SPSS 18 software. Since the data was not normal, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was applied. The findings of this study showed that the significant value of the test was 0,000 and it was less than 0.05 allowed the H0 rejected. It can be concluded that there was an influence of inquiry learning approach assisted by word square media on students' mathematical understanding ability, which was done in the study of trigonometry II for class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. Hence, mathematical understanding ability is a crucial aspect in solving mathematical problems which can be measured by applying inquiry learning approach in classroom.

Abstract

The main problem in formal learning today is the low absorption of students in understanding the material. This can be seen from the average student learning outcomes which are always still low. Low learning outcomes are indicated because the learning conditions are still conventional (lectures, practicums, and discussions). This study aims to determine the effect of pair programming learning models on learning outcomes of vocational high school students. This research was conducted through a literature review and relevant research results and was continued through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). From the research it was found that there was a significant positive influence between the variable pair programming learning model and student learning outcomes, which means that student learning outcomes can be improved through the application of the pair programming learning model.

Abstract

Facing the era of globalization, the younger generation continues to experience an identity crisis where the younger generation is more familiar with hero figures who do not reflect eastern values, especially those that are typically Indonesian which causes the young generation to lack concern for the nation; and reduced pride in Indonesia's nationalistic identity. Digital books or e-books are a technological development that utilizes computers used to display information in the form of text, images, audio, video and other multimedia in a concise and dynamic form that can be read by computers or other electronic devices. In this case, digital books are an alternative and the right solution for learning the history of heroism in the implementation of independent learning. The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of digital history books in teaching heroic values to students. This research is analyzed using qualitative research methods. The results and discussion are: the role of learning the history of heroes through digital book media that can make it easier to teach heroic values to students. So that students are able to emulate heroic values and actualize and serve as spirit values in the life of society, nation and state.

Abstract

McClelland's theory of motivation focuses on three needs, namely the need for achievement, the need for power, and the need for affiliation. This study method uses quantitative research with descriptive method. This study aims to determine whether learning motivation has an effect on student activity. Sources of research data were obtained from 3 PKBM institutions in Nganjuk Regency. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis to determine the activity of the experimental and control classes. Active Observation (Psychomotor and Oral Activities) the average activity value reached 85.23%. This percentage is included in the very good category. The t-test calculation of the activeness score shows tcount > ttable. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of learning motivation on the activity of students in PKBM Nganjuk Regency.
