Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of transformational leadership by the school principal in managing inclusive education at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Tulungagung. Adopting a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the school principal consistently demonstrates proactive, visionary, and highly transformational leadership. This is evident in their strategic decision-making, such as implementing SWOT analysis for program planning and fostering critical collaborations with external experts like the Autistic Service Center (PLA) Blitar. Furthermore, the principal's leadership is prominent in human resource management, including the appointment and continuous professional development of special accompanying teachers (GPK), and actively leading curriculum and assessment adaptations to cater to diverse student needs. The school employs flexible inclusive learning models, specifically regular classes with clusters and full special classes, adapted based on individual student requirements. While challenges such as managing tantrum behaviours in some students with special needs were identified, the principal demonstrated effective responses through dedicated GPK support, therapy recommendations, and robust collaboration with parents. This research concludes that transformational leadership is a pivotal factor in establishing and sustaining a high-quality, effective, and adaptive inclusive educational environment.

Abstract

As Islamic educational institutions, madrasahs hold a strategic role in shaping morally grounded and knowledgeable generations amid the era of digital transformation. The digitalization of madrasahs constitutes a critical aspect of educational modernization, impacting various dimensions of institutional performance, particularly among educators and administrative staff. This study investigates the correlation between the implementation of digitalization in madrasahs and the performance of educators and education personnel at State Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) across Bandung Regency. Employing a descriptive quantitative design with a correlational approach, data were gathered through structured surveys and analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test. The findings reveal a statistically significant positive relationship between madrasah digitalization and staff performance (p = 0.005, p < 0.05), indicating that the integration of digital systems contributes meaningfully to improving the operational effectiveness of Islamic educational institutions, especially at the senior secondary level.

Abstract

Studies on the effectiveness of pesantren kilat (short-term Islamic boarding programs) from the perspectives of ideology and pesantren management remain limited, especially in comparative contexts between modern and traditional pesantren. Pesantren kilat aim to enhance students' religious understanding and cultivate Islamic character. However, differences in ideological orientation and managerial approaches significantly affect the implementation of these programs. This study examines the management of pesantren kilat at the Islamic Centre Bin Baz Boarding School in Wangon, Banyumas (Salafi-modern) and the Al-Ishlah Boarding School in Mangkang, Semarang (Aswaja-traditional). Using a descriptive qualitative method with a comparative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that Bin Baz implements systematic, technology-based planning, flexible organizational structures, and adaptive execution with informal communication. Program evaluation is conducted strictly by coordinators. In contrast, Al-Ishlah applies tradition-based planning directed by the kyai, hierarchical organization emphasizing obedience, charismatic leadership in program implementation, and traditional evaluation methods through sorogan and bandongan. These findings confirm that ideological and managerial differences shape program effectiveness. The study recommends the optimization of technology and the adoption of data-driven evaluation methods to enhance the quality of pesantren kilat programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the SECI model in Knowledge Management (KM) to enhance educational quality at TPA-TQA Alluqmaniyyah Yogyakarta, a non-formal Islamic education institution. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research explores the processes of knowledge socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization within this unique educational environment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with institution leaders, observation of activities, and review of relevant documents and literature. The findings reveal that the implementation of the SECI model effectively facilitates the conversion of tacit knowledge into explicit forms through various practices, including student assessments, regular learning evaluations, curriculum documentation, and routine teacher training. The success of this implementation is significantly underpinned by robust collaboration among educators, the integral incorporation of Islamic values, and a pervasive reflective culture in decision-making processes. Although certain limitations persist, particularly concerning the aspect of digitalization, this knowledge management approach demonstrably proves effective in improving the overall educational quality at TPA-TQA Alluqmaniyyah.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the implementation of strategic management at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Pamekasan through SWOT analysis, enriched with the IFE (Internal Factors Evalaution ) and EFE (External Factors Evaluation) frameworks. Adopting a sequential exploratory mixed-methods approach, qualitative and quantitative data were collected from various key stakeholders to comprehensively identify strategic factors. The results of the internal analysis (IFE) indicate that the madrasah's main strengths lie in its Adiwiyata predicate and unique skills programs, although it faces weaknesses in student and staff learning interest and discipline. From the external side (EFE), the biggest opportunity is the madrasah's position as an Islamic institution with added skills, amidst the threats of intense competition and shifting societal preferences. A synthesis of these findings yields four strategic assumptions: SO (leveraging strengths for opportunities), WO (addressing weaknesses with opportunities), ST (using strengths to face threats), and WT (minimizing weaknesses and avoiding threats). This research concludes that the optimization of strategic management at MAN 2 Pamekasan requires the implementation of concrete actions that are synergistic between internal and external factors, which in turn will enhance the madrasah's competitive advantage and sustainability.
