Objectives. This research aims to improve passing skills in football among students of SMPN 8 Seluas, Bengkayang Regency. The researcher hopes that this study can be utilized by other researchers to enhance student learning in schools. Materials and Methods. The material provided focuses on passing using the inside of the foot in football, taught through a play-based method. This research employs a classroom action research method conducted in two cycles. The research subjects are 28 eighth-grade students, consisting of 20 males and 8 females. The instruments used in this study include measurement techniques and observation sheets. Results. The pre-cycle data results show that students' ability to perform passing using the inside of the foot had not yet reached the minimum mastery criterion of 75%. Specifically, 23 students (82.14%) did not meet the criterion, while only 5 students (17.85%) achieved it. Subsequently, instruction on inside-foot passing was provided through a play-based method. This had an impact on the passing skills results in football, as shown in the Cycle I test. Out of 28 students, 17 students (60.71%) achieved mastery, while 11 students (39.28%) did not. The researcher continued the study with Cycle II, applying the same method as in Cycle I. The results from Cycle II show that 23 students (82.14%) achieved mastery, while 5 students (17.85%) did not. Conclusions. ased on the research results above, it can be concluded that the play-based method can improve passing skills in football among eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Seluas, Bengkayang Regency

Abstract

Objectives. This study seeks to examine the impact of traditional game media kpoti, guided by the slogan "lestari budayaku bugar bangsaku." Materials and Methods. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing a discussion approach and implementing direct practice. The study was carried out with KPOTI Pontianak, involving approximately 36 participants from 10 regions in West Kalimantan. Data was obtained through observation and survey methods. Results. The findings of the study demonstrate that the traditional games employed exhibit an 80% effectiveness in the cognitive domain, specifically in the game of gobak sodor. The minimal difficulty anticipated in grasping one of the traditional game options, specifically gobak sodor, arises from the fact that this game is relatively easy to play and is regarded as familiar or frequently engaged in. The emotional dimension of this traditional game demonstrates an average percentage of 86%, as observed through the attitudes and behaviors of participants engaged in the activity. The cognitive aspect demonstrates a notable percentage value of 90%, evidenced by the substantial enhancement in the participants' motor learning capabilities. Conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the Gobak Sodor game has a significant contribution in increasing physical activity as well as cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of participants. This game is not only a means of entertainment but also plays a role in preserving cultural heritage and improving physical health. As a recommendation for further researchers, it is advisable to conduct further research on the long-term impact of involvement in traditional games on physical and mental health. In addition, further exploration is needed regarding the application of traditional games in the physical education curriculum so that the benefits can be more optimally felt by the younger generation.

Abstract

Objectives. To enhance the speed of service training through pacing on the sepak takraw service skills of physical education students at Tadulako University, Palu. Materials and Methods. The study involved a total of 8 athletes occupying the roles of servicer or tekong, thus the sample for this research was derived from the complete population of these 8 athletes. Therefore, the sampling technique employs total sampling. The method of data collection involves administering a test, specifically a sepak takraw service speed test. The equipment utilized for the experiment includes a sepak takraw field, a sepak takraw ball, and a stopwatch. The procedure involves measuring the duration from the moment the ball is struck until it makes contact with the floor of the sepak takraw court. Following the pre-test, the sample underwent a service speed training intervention utilizing a pacing pad over the course of 16 sessions. After that, the sample was given a posttest with the same procedure as the initial test or pre-test. Once all the data had been gathered, the next step involved employing the data analysis technique. Results. The data analysis revealed that the investigation into the impact of service speed training utilizing pacing pads on the service speed of sepak takraw athletes at Tadulako University, Palu, yielded significant findings. Conclusion. This study demonstrates that the training method utilizing pacing pads can markedly enhance service speed in sepak takraw. It is advisable to conduct additional studies to investigate the effectiveness of varying training durations, the different applications of pacing pads, and to compare this method with alternative training strategies to enhance athlete performance. Furthermore, studies involving a larger sample size and a broader range of ability levels are necessary to enhance the generalizability of the findings.
