Abstract

In improving the achievement of students in science lessons, especially in the discussion of animals and plants in my home environment, the fourth grade students at SD Negeri Tombo 02 were selected using the discovery learning method. Discovery learning method is a teaching method that focuses on the activities of students in learning. In the learning process with this method, the teacher only acts as a guide and facilitator who directs students to find concepts, arguments, procedures, algorithms and the like. Thus students are encouraged to be more actively involved in learning materials and develop critical thinking skills in fourth grade students of SD Negeri Tombo 02, Bandar District, Batang Regency, 2020/2021 school year. After analyzing the value of the science learning process and results, the authors summarize the problems that occur in online learning, including: a. Students are less able to mention animals and plants, b. Students are less able to explain the parts of plant functions for humans, c. Students' perspectives are less able to explain the Indonesian landscape. From the results of the problem analysis above, it can be analyzed, including: Is the problem caused by inappropriate media or learning devices, learning materials that are not in accordance with the interests of students, or learning methods do not attract students.

Abstract

This research has the aim of increasing the skills to write reports on the results of simple environmental observations. The subjects of this study were class II SD Negeri 2 Kritig, totaling 15 students. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementing and observing, and reflecting. There are two assessments carried out in this study, namely an assessment of the content of the report and an assessment of the writing. The results of his research for the assessment of report content in the first cycle of completeness reached 80% and increased in cycles II and III to reach 100%. Then for the written assessment, completeness reached 26.67% in the first cycle increased to 67% in the second cycle and 86.7% in the third cycle. Furthermore, the average final score in cycle I reached 73.99, increased to 78.75 in cycle II and reached 80.2 in cycle III. So the conclusion is that through the use of instructional video media it can improve the skills of writing reports on environmental observations of grade II students of SD Negeri 2 Kritig.

Abstract

Abstract

The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students as evidenced by the low score of evaluation test results. The goal to be achieved is the use of interactive powerpoint media to improve student learning outcomes. The effort made by the writer is improving learning by using interactive powerpoint learning media. This research method uses classroom action research which takes place in three cycles, each cycle consisting of 1) planning; 2) action, 3) observation and 4) reflection. The subjects of this study were 24 students of grade V SD Negeri Cawitali 03. Efforts to improve learning have been successful and end in the third cycle. This can be seen in Cycle I, students who complete learning are 16 students from 24 students = 67%, Cycle II students who complete learning are 19 students out of 24 students = 79.2% and Cycle III students who complete learning are 23 students out of 24. Students = 95.8%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of the circulatory system material in grade V SD Negeri Cawitali 03 can be increased by using interactive powerpoint media

Abstract

Building density is an important parameter for earthquake vulnerability mapping. Sengon village, Klaten, Central Java, which located in active fault zone of Opak is still lack of strategies for risk reduction in relation to physical vulnerability, especially to building density.  The aims of this research is to 1) calculate the building density, 2) identify the relation of building density and population number, and 3) propose vulnerability reduction planning for physical characteristic. Building density calculate from aerial photo mapping. This method is robust and effective, resulting data of building density that Dusun Belan is the densest. In Sengon village, building density and population has positive correlation. Most of buildings is inhabited by 1-2 households. Sengon village can adapt several strategies for vulnerability physical reduction, i.e. a) design a strong and eco-friendly earthquake building especially for building inhabited by>3 HH, b) provide an open space and evacuation route in denser building area.
