Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the obstacles to implementing P5 with the topic Bhinneka Tunggal Ika at SDN Bumi 1 No. 67 Surakarta starting from the planning stage, implementation, to assessment and efforts made to overcome it. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method approach. The obstacles encountered in the implementation of P5 are due to internal factors and external factors. The obstacles caused by internal factors are the absence of training regarding P5 for teachers, P5 is not well documented due to lack of teacher understanding, and differences in perception between teachers and school principals. Meanwhile, obstacles are caused by external factors such as limited learning media, the lack of role of teachers and school principals in establishing collaboration, and the lack of involvement of committees and supervisors. The solution to overcome these obstacles are to encourage the strengthening of teacher capacity through training to be able to implement P5 in accordance with the guidelines, to equalize perceptions and build communication between teachers and the school principals, to work with the parents of pupils in providing adequate learning media and to optimize the role of the head, teacher, committee, and supervisor to support a collaborative school ecosystem.

Abstract

This study intends to demonstrate how character education is implemented in Pancasila Education on the topic of norms in life in class V SDN Kleco II Surakarta, as well as the challenges that stand in the way of its implementation and potential solutions. This type of research is qualitative. Teachers and fifth-graders served as the research subjects at SDN Kleco II Surakarta. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observations, and document studies. Data validity testing techniques used were source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique used was an interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of character education through Pancasila Education was carried out through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The character values of religion, tolerance, discipline, creativity, curiosity, respect for achievement, and responsibility contained therein have been well implemented, but there are still some students who have not been able to apply them. The obstacles found are students who are bored when learning and the attitude of students towards material that has not been maximally implement, while the teacher is only focused on completing the material. The solution to overcome existing obstacles is for teachers to create innovative learning and use active learning approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the relationship between reading interest and reading habits with the writing skills of the explanatory text students of class V SD N Bugel 02 Salatiga 2022/2023. This research uses a quantitative approach to correlational research models. This research sample is students of class V SD N Bugel 02. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and tests. The validation used is expert validation and instrument validity test. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive statistics and multiple correlation analysis. The results of the study indicate that students’ reading interests are low, students’ reading habits are low, and student’s writing skills of the explanatory text are moderate and all three have strong, positive, and significant correlations. It is hoped that this research can provide information regarding students’ reading interests, reading habits, and the writing skills of the explanatory text. These results should be taken into consideration by teachers and schools to improve the efforts that have been carried out by not only considering the application of literacy but also the cultivation of interest and habits in students so that in the future students can implement these experiences as supporting efforts writing skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe critical thinking skills in terms of learning styles on the topic of addition and subtraction of fractions among fourth-grade students at SDN Tegalrejo No. 98 in the academic year 2023/2024. This study employs a qualitative research method with a case study design. The subjects are teachers and nine fourth-grade students from SDN Tegalrejo No. 98. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity is ensured through triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis follows Creswell's analytical model. The results indicate that students with kinesthetic and auditory learning styles were only able to fulfill the evaluation and inference indicators. Students with a visual learning style did not meet all four indicators of critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Therefore, this research is expected to provide additional information for teachers to develop more effective and efficient teaching strategies by considering students learning styles. Additionally, it serves as a reference for further research on mathematics learning. The implication of this research is that critical thinking skills play a crucial role in solving mathematical problems related to addition and substraction of fractions.

Abstract

The main problem that will be explained in this research is about reading difficulties among first-grade elementary school students. This research aims to identify reading difficulties experienced by first-grade students during the reading phase. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, validity testing in data collection uses triangulation techniques of methods and sources, and data analysis uses error analysis technique guidelines. In this research, data collection from sources uses interviews, observation, and document analysis. It was then found that most first-grade students still experience difficulty in reading words due to psychological, intellectual, physiological, and environmental factors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of academic resilience and grit in PGSD FKIP UNS students. The study used a quantitative descriptive analysis research design. Respondents in this study were 66 Surakarta UNS PGSD students class of 2023 who were selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The instruments used are the academic resilience scale and the grit scale which consists of favorable and unfavorable items. The results showed that 84.6% of students had high academic resilience, and 15.2% of students had moderate academic resilience. In addition, 90.9% of students have moderate grit and 9.1% of students have low grit. There are variations in the level of academic resilience and grit in students.
