Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer in Indonesia. One of the factors affecting the high incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia is the low coverage of screening and early detection, such as Pap smear. The low coverage is caused by various factors, including health system and lack of public awareness. Therefore, this community service focus on cervical cancer counseling and Pap smear examination. The purpose of this activity are to increase public awareness of cervical cancer and the coverage of cervical cancer screening in community. The activity was carried out in Kedaton, Pleret, Bantul with 26 participants. As many as 57.69% of the participants  were first-time Pap smear takers. Pap smear diagnostic results showed that all participant did not have cervical epithelial abnormalities leading to malignant lesion (Negative for Intraepithelial Malignancy) but there were participant with epithelial reactive changes due to inflammation (23.08%), actinomycosis (15,38%), bacterial vaginosis (11.54%) and IUD-related reactive changes (3.8%). The majority of patients with reactive changes and infection of the cervix had no complaints, indicating a lack of understanding the sign of  abnormal vaginal discharge. This community service is effective to prevent cervical cancer and increase knowledge about gynecological and reproductive health. However it still requires the cooperation of many parties to expand Pap smear coverage and implementation of periodic examination.

Abstract

This research aims to create a poultry feed formulation that complies with SNI 01-3931-2006 standards regarding broiler poultry feed, where the process of making poultry feed includes four main ingredients, namely fish meal, corn, rice bran and vitamins. In this research there are two main processes, namely the process of making fish meal and the process of making poultry feed. Fish meal is a raw material for making poultry feed because it has high protein content. Fish meal in the process of making poultry feed is obtained from processing fish caught at sea by fishermen. This research activity was carried out in Sentang Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Berdagai Regency. This location was chosen because it is near the sea and has abundant natural resource potential for marine products. The resulting poultry feed is then analyzed including water content, protein, oil content, ash content, crude fiber, calcium and protein. Poultry feed analysis was carried out in the Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS) laboratory. The analysis results showed water content 30.90%, protein 11.70%, oil content 3.17%, ash content 5.16%, crude fiber 17.32%, calcium 182.41 ppm and phosphorus <0.01 ppm.

Abstract

A Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) is essential for business owners, especially those who are developing their businesses because NIB can preserve the legality and integrity of a product. However, many business owners need to realize the importance of having an NIB. In this regard, the author was motivated to assist student-owned MSMEs, a program by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University, to obtain a NIB. Business owners can register on the online system through the Online Single Submission (OSS) website to obtain an NIB. In this research, we will discuss how to obtain an NIB through the online system and the benefits of helping several students who owned businesses aided by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University, to obtain a NIB. The study results show that the OSS web application provides valuable information. Business owners can apply for an NIB without changing their business permits or operations by activating an OSS account, filling out company data in the OSS system, completing the information on previously owned licenses, after which the OSS system will issue an NIB for the business owners.

Abstract

Banyuwangi Regency, a major dragon fruit producer in Indonesia, has a cultivation area of 3,786 hectares and an annual production of 82,544 tons in 2020, up from 19,068 tons in 2019. Despite the use of Ultraviolet (UV) light technology increasing productivity to 2,350 tons per hectare in Sarongan village, there has been a drastic 60% drop in production over the past two years. This decline is accompanied by plant health issues and high costs for pesticides and chemical fertilizers, highlighting the need for more efficient solutions. The use of biological agents, relying on natural enemies to control pests and diseases, offers a sustainable solution. Microbes and fungi can reduce reliance on chemical pesticides and improve plant health. This study evaluates the application of biological agents through technical guidance, using potato broth for Beauveria bassiana and Trichoderma sp., and soybean broth for Azotobacter sp. and Pseudomonas fluorescens. Testing results show that Azotobacter sp. and Pseudomonas fluorescens have adequate populations and are effective in enhancing soil health and plant productivity. The use of nutrient-rich media such as potato broth improves the growth of Beauveria bassiana and Trichoderma sp. Field application of biological agents resulted in a 30% increase in harvest yield, reduced dependence on chemical pesticides, and lowered production costs. Practical recommendations include using optimal nutrient media, farmer training, and regular monitoring and evaluation to enhance effectiveness and sustainability. This technology is expected to support sustainable agriculture and significantly boost dragon fruit productivity.

Abstract

Nature provides many benefits for humans, including the existence of plants that have medicinal properties. Currently, many people cultivate medicinal plants around the house and make them into family medicinal plants (TOGA). Providing education to the younger generation regarding the use of plants as family traditional medicine (TOGA) is important to increase the awareness of the younger generation in preserving natural resources. This Community Service activity was carried out in two stages, namely (1) preparation and collection of educational material followed by (2) delivery to educational participants, the young generation in Mandor District, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. Educational activities are carried out through brochures/leaflets, stand banner and PPTs which are delivered at PKM activities. The younger generation, namely high school students, are enthusiastic about taking part in activities. There has been an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the younger generation regarding types of family medicinal plants, their benefits, processing methods and utilization by an average of 24.67%.

Abstract

Diseases in the vine can affect the quality and quantity of grape production. The majority of members of the Caru Wine Club (ACC) still do not know the type of disease in the vine and how to control it. This activity aims to provide assistance in fungal control to ACC partners. The implementation method is through direct assistance to ACC partners in Caru hamlet, Bajang village, Mlarak District, Ponorogo Regency consisting of 22 members. The training stage begins with plant identification, training and practice of making sulfur jaddam fungicides, as well as control by spraying sulfur jaddam fungicides. The results of the training showed that ACC partners were already able to create sulfur jaddam fungicides, identify plants infested with fungi, and spray skills correctly. Spraying is carried out once a week for one month. The impact of this activity proves that grape plants that have been sprayed using the sulfur jaddam fungicide can reduce pests on grape plants. The sulfur jaddam fungicide applied to the vine is able to reduce diseases in the vine so that the vine is quite resistant to disease and thrives. To maximize crop yields, partners need to be disciplined regarding the time of spraying grapes because it will affect the growth of fungi that can damage plants if the spraying of jaddam sulfur fungicide is inconsistent.

Abstract

Sanitary pad is a basic need for women who are reproductively active. At the same time, there are still many women who do not understand about menstrual health and hygiene and choose to use disposable sanitary pads. In fact, each woman can use more than 300 pads a year, depending on the duration and volume of bleeding. In the end, the sanitary pads waste will accumulate, because one sanitary pad takes 500-800 years to decompose. Furthermore, the usage of disposable sanitary pads is harmful to women's reproductive health. In this situation, women confront the negative stigma of contributing to waste while their health is jeopardized. As a result, this program, in collaboration with Biyung Indonesia, aims to provide a safe space for women to learn and discuss the right to healthy menstruation through three activity sessions: educational activities and workshops on making cloth sanitary pads, educational activities and workshops on making misting spray, and a social media campaign, which was attended by 25 Islamic boarding school students and young women, at Al Bayt Al Quran boarding school, Karanglo, Yogyakarta. This program successfully raised awareness and fostered active participation among participants in producing their own reusable menstrual pads, leading to healthier menstrual practices.
