Mekarsari Village is one of the villages with diverse business potential. The products produced range from food and bamboo handicrafts to clothing convection. However, the problem is that the community has yet to be able to market their business products widely. This research aims to increase the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) by creating a booklet containing business potential in Mekarsari Village. The method used in this research is in-situ observation of villagers and surveys of other hamlets to find out the livelihoods of people in the surrounding area. After conducting field observations, data was collected through qualitative interviews with Mekarsari villagers who work as producers of clothing, shelter, and food. The results showed that booklet making is an effective means to realize the marketing of processed products produced in Mekarsari Village. In addition to being a promotional medium, the booklet also shapes positive perceptions and builds mutual support for sustainable economic development in Mekarsari Village.

Abstract

Mail management is a crucial component of formal communication and organizational administration, whether in small, medium, or large entities. Incoming and outgoing mail within an organization, including government bodies, holds strategic value as a communication tool, memory archive, authentic record, and guide for carrying out activities. In Jumput Village, Sukosewu, Bojonegoro, mail management is still conducted manually, which presents various challenges, such as the risk of lost archives and slow administrative processes. To address this, a Community Service initiative was undertaken to simplify mail management by developing a web-based Mail Management Information System. This application is designed to store incoming mail, outgoing mail, letter dispositions, and other important documents, such as Village Regulations (PERDES), Village Head Decrees (PERKADES), and Village Consultative Body Decrees (BPD). The application supports various file formats, including jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, doc, docx, xls, and xlsx, with a maximum file size of 20MB, tailored to the needs identified through interviews with the Village Secretary and Village Head. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance efficiency in the administrative management of Jumput Sukosewu Village, facilitate easier archiving, and reduce the workload of administrative staff. Therefore, this application is anticipated to provide an effective solution for digitizing mail management at the village level.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a common cancer in women with an estimated 570,000 new cases in 2018 and represents 6.6% of all cancers in women. About 90% of cervical cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. High mortality rates from cervical cancer globally can be reduced through a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early diagnosis, effective screening and treatment programs. Cervical cancer can be prevented with primary prevention. Primary prevention is to prevent the occurrence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection with the advantage of not causing side effects, easy and effective. This prevention can be done using screening methods that are easy and inexpensive to do, such as Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid (IVA), which is visual inspection with acetic acid. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer, symptoms at an early and late stage in Cinere Depok District. The assessment of understanding can be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test. The results of this activity show that people in Cinere Depok District have understood the socialization of early detection of cervical cancer and recognize the symptoms of early and late stages of cervical cancer with an increase in the average value of post-test, which is 90% of the pre-test score.

Abstract

From the results of initial observations in the field so far, it can be observed that the majority of students at the Darul Qur'an Lantaburo Islamic Boarding School are more oriented towards the mission of providing quality education that integrates religious knowledge and general knowledge. It is known (1) lack of mental readiness, (2) soft skills deficit, (3) lack of leadership motivation, and (4) lack of awareness of the importance of attitude. Meanwhile, the vision and mission of developing morals and encouraging students to be active in social activities is still lagging behind. The implications of this reality are that the author is still concerned about this phenomenon. The output targets of this service include training services in the form of information related to increasing motivation, leadership and attitude. Through the service activities that have been carried out, three things have been improved, namely increasing knowledge about motivation, deepening how to become someone who has leadership and increasing knowledge about the importance of implementing a good attitude. The methods used are lecture, discussion and question and answer methods. The result of implementing this community service activity is to provide increased understanding of motivation, leadership and attitude.

Abstract

Marriage is not merely the completion of half of one's religion, a Sunnah of the Prophet that his followers should carry out, but also to produce a superior generation, both in character and deeds. Individuals who are about to marry should have a foundation of knowledge to build a harmonious family, Sakinah mawaddah warohmah (a harmonious family). However, in reality, most individuals are preoccupied with pursuing careers to meet the demands of life, but on the other hand, they do very little to prepare themselves to build a family. As a result, families are formed based solely on acquired experiences without knowing what is right or wrong or what is ideal. Consequently, many family problems arise, such as divorce, family disputes, juvenile delinquency, drug use, and others, which often break our hearts. Motivated by these issues, the School of Parenting Keluarga Samara (Creating a Harmonious Family, Shaping a Superior Generation) online program aims to provide a foundation for young families or future parents to build a strong and harmonious family and to produce a superior generation. The training is conducted with participants joining a WhatsApp group. Subsequently, participants receive structured material online through Zoom meetings. Pre-tests and post-tests are conducted before and after each material delivery. Alhamdulillah, the results of this activity have had a positive impact on the community, as the pre-test and post-test results show a significant difference between before and after participating in the activity, with a significance level of 0.000 (p<0.05). The post-test results show better results compared to the pre-test.

Abstract

Unsold vegetable waste from agricultural produce often rots and ends up being discarded at landfills, increasing waste volume and potentially causing environmental problems. To address this issue, vegetable waste can be processed into useful and marketable products such as bioethanol. Bioethanol is a renewable energy source obtained through the fermentation of biomass, including vegetable waste such as potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, mustard greens, and cabbage. In this community service program, an e-Bio production unit with a processing capacity of 5 liters has been designed, utilizing vegetable waste as raw material. The unit consists of pre-treatment equipment, a fermenter, and a distillation unit. The pre-treatment equipment includes an initial cooking tank, a crusher, and a pressurized tank. The fermenter tank is equipped with two manual paddle-type agitators with a diameter of 30 cm. Meanwhile, the distillation tank is made of stainless steel and equipped with a heater to heat the fermented solution and a cooling water tank to cool the evaporated e-Bio. The unit achieves a distillation efficiency of 95% with a production rate of 0.475 L/hour, producing 0.95 liters of ethanol after two hours of operation. The goal of this program is to implement the e-Bio production unit by utilizing vegetable waste as raw material, increase community or farmer income through e-Bio sales, and reduce the environmental impact caused by vegetable waste disposal.

Abstract

The Ayu Arimbi SME, which is a batik craftsman in Sleman, has experienced a decrease in revenue due to a reduction in the number of products purchased by consumers, as the products offered are not sufficiently varied. Additionally, Ayu Arimbi SME only accepts orders directly at the store or via WhatsApp and does not maximize the use of social media for promotion and digital marketing. The purpose of this community service is to support efforts to diversify products by developing and innovating eco-print products and to help Ayu Arimbi SME expand its marketing to reach more consumers through digital marketing via social media. This community service program includes training and practice in eco-printing, comprehensive digital marketing training, and counseling on goods and space management using the 5S method. The material related to goods and space management is also important for increasing SME productivity. All community service programs have been successfully implemented. The results of this service include direct training guidance at the SME and eco-print fabrics created by the participants during the training. It is hoped that the knowledge and skills provided will bring benefits such as increased revenue, capacity, and competitiveness of Ayu Arimbi SME.

Abstract

Data from the Yogyakarta Regional Police indicate that Gunungkidul Regency has the highest suicide rate in Yogyakarta. In Gunungkidul, nearly 20 cases happen every year. The cases of suicide in Gunungkidul are usually linked with the myth of "pulung gantung." As a matter of fact, existing studies reveal that the prevalent cause of suicide in Gunungkidul is depression. Considering the condition above, the PKM-PM UAD team came up with the "My Precious Life" program, consisting of a series of activities: Training of Trainers, Mbalang Lintang Game, and Psychological Campaign. The implementation methodology will consist of a series of trainings involving active participation from the local community. The "My Precious Life" program gained support from village governments, village, and hamlet PKK cadres, and health institutions for its execution to ensure maximum involvement and a significant impact on the results. Results of this program indicate that there is a significant increase in knowledge and skills for the early detection community and a decrease in elderly individuals with depressive tendencies after playing mbalang lintang. Moreover, this has created closer ties between residents and the rest of the supporting institutions involved, which in turn have given rise to many new initiatives that will help continue this program well into the future. The conclusion from this activity was that for achieving the community service goals, collaboration and active participation from all parties involved were very important. This is a very useful program to the community, which can act as a role model that may help similar activities elsewhere
