Abstract

The students' reading skills at SMA Negeri 4 Balikpapan need to be improved because there are still students who get low scores. The purpose of this activity is to introduce to teachers about Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by flipbook media to improve students' novel text reading skill at SMA Negeri 4 Balikpapan. The socialization was attended by Indonesian language teachers. After the training ended, the implementation of problem-based learning model assisted by flipbook media was conducted in one of the classes. Learning activities with PBL model assisted by flipbook media were conducted in several meetings with the method used, namely cycle I and II consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using tests, distributing questionnaires, and documentation. The result of implementation shows that the application of problem based learning model effectively improves the reading skill of students of class XII IPS 2 SMA Negeri 4 Balikpapan in Indonesian language subject of novel material by 10.98%. It can be concluded that the implementation of problem based learning model assisted by flipbook can improve the reading skill of students of class XII IPS 2 at SMA Negeri 4 Balikpapan.

Abstract

The briefing on building Branding through Digital Marketing is the first step to creating modern MSMEs. This work program is used in the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program by students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Balikpapan University in Argo Mulyo Village. This briefing aims to introduce products to potential consumers and increase product sales with a wider scope through Digital Marketing promotions. Batik Semoi Nusantara in Argo Mulyo Village is a Village-Owned Enterprise which produces handicrafts in the form of batik. The batik craftsmen are members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) in Argo Mulyo Village. The method implemented is guidance on how to promote Batik Semoi Nusantara products through digital marketing using social media such as Instagram as well as contributing to the creation of catalogues, business cards and feed templates for Instagram. The results of this briefing show increased awareness and understanding of Batik Semoi Nusantara in managing and using Digital Marketing through social media as a means of introducing and promoting batik products.

Abstract

Currently, students' social politeness is starting to fade. This is influenced by the development of information technology, cultural modernization and free association. In fact, this attitude is important as a basis for forming a generation of quality and noble character. The aim of this activity is to increase understanding and awareness of the importance of polite culture for elementary school students at SDIT Ma'Arif Sepaku. The method used in this activity is scientific methods of lectures, counseling, training and interactive activities involving students. The results of this work program increase students' understanding of how to interact politely with teachers, parents and peers. Students can also apply the culture of politeness in various situations in everyday life so that they can increase the cultural values of politeness at home and at school.

Abstract

Cases of Dengue Fever (DF) increased in Seri Kembang III Village, and a child died with three childreen hospitalized at the Regional Hospital in Ogan Ilir Regency. The government increase awareness by increasing public knowledge and skills by collaborating with academia. Students of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang (UMP) Community Service Program (KKN) collaborated with Faculty of Medicine UMP to performed counseling activities and training for larva monitoring (Jumantik). Activities include counseling and evaluating the level of community knowledge through pretest and posttest. The training includes skills to identify mosquito larvae, which was followed by checking the homes of people affected. by DD to educate and find out the breeding habitat for Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae in the environment around residential areas. The participants' knowledge showed an increase regarding the symptoms, causes, prevention and role of jumantik as seen from the development of the pretest posttest results which increased significantly and the enthusiasm shown by the participants in the question and answer session with the resource person. It is hoped that activities like this can be carried out again by KKN students to provide education to local village residents and help residents increase awareness of the transmission of dengue fever (DHF).

Abstract

Community service through Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities is one form of the author's contribution to the community in overcoming existing problems by applying his theory into a service activity. This dedication was carried out by the author with the aim of providing an understanding of the importance of implementing Digital Marketing in a business activity through mentoring and socialization methods for Batik Semoi Nusantara business activities in Argo Mulyo Village, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency. In this service activity, the author did it in several stages, starting with discussions with the actors of Batik Semoi Nusantara business activities followed by execution and revision of activities and ending with the results of the author's service activities. What the author does in this devotion is, among others; logo creation, Maps point creation, Instagram account creation, and web contact person. The application of digital marketing does have a significant influence on business actors, even so there are still many who do not understand the true concept of digitalization, therefore, it is necessary to provide assistance to these business actors as well as what the author did on Batik Semoi Nusantara. There was a positive impact and response given after Batik Semoi Nusantara was given assistance regarding digitalization, one of which was increasing sales value and complete information for potential customers.

Abstract

This article discusses a community program carried out in the Gersik Village area in the legal field as a solution to the problems faced by young people in the area. The article explains the basis for the selection of the community service program, the methodology chosen in its implementation, and the preparations needed before the program began. This program aims to introduce aspects of legal education to young people in Gersik Village as an effort to solve the legal problems they face. The implementation of this program is carried out through various activities which include providing materials, group discussions, and simulating legal cases. After the program was completed, an evaluation of the results achieved was carried out to evaluate the success of this community service program in solving legal problems in Gersik Village. This article was prepared based on facts in the field and experiences from the implementation of the community service program in Kelurahan Gersik. Although not perfect, this article provides a concise, factual, and straightforward description of the program. The results of this program are expected to provide real benefits for young people in Gersik Village and become an inspiration for similar programs in other areas.

Abstract

Hypertension is a significant health issue in Indonesia, with a growing prevalence. Some individuals still lack attention and support for hypertension prevention. The “Let's Plant Celery for Hypertension Prevention” movement in Kluncing Village aims to address this problem. The purpose of this program is to empower the community to plant celery as one of the plants that can prevent hypertension. The community service approach was employed, beginning with problem identification and priority determination, and concluding with program implementation. Socialization efforts were undertaken to educate the community about the benefits of celery and the process of planting it. Over 100 celery seedlings were distributed to the community and regularly monitored. Observations showed that celery growth reached its peak in the fifth week, with an average height of 4.39cm. During the sixth and seventh weeks, the celery continued to grow well, reaching an average height of 3.56cm and 3.39cm, respectively. By the end of the seventh week, the celery had reached maturity, with an average height of 27.20cm, indicating that the plant had fully matured. This program is a concrete step towards preventing hypertension and improving public health, with the active participation of the community. Sustainable practices in celery planting and consumption are expected to continue in Kluncing Village to obtain optimal health benefits in the prevention of hypertension.

Abstract

Fire is an event that no one ever expected, but can happen at any time and can happen to anyone. Many causes of fires that often occur around us are caused by several factors. For example, human, environmental, and technical factors. Human error is the most common cause of fires. This can occur due to negligence or carelessness, errors in the use of flammable tools or materials. Not only human negligence, but also factors that cause fires such as stoves, matches, leaking gas, burning garbage and so on. The socialization was carried out at SMPN 2 Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) which was attended by 56 students. It aims not only to increase participants' knowledge, but also to encourage them to spread the knowledge to friends at school and in the community. It is hoped that the younger generation can understand the causes of fires and how to overcome them with this knowledge, they are able to handle extinguishing independently when facing fires with light fire capacity, and can minimize the risk of fires around them.

Abstract

This article describes the application of traditional games while learning for the social development of school-aged children. The aim of traditional games while learning is to help children's social development with various motor skills. Community Service (PkM) activities are focused on Mangga Dua hamlet, a remote, disadvantaged, poor area and aspects of education that have not been touched by services. For some children who have not enjoyed a good education because school buildings are not yet available, the distance to the educational location is approximately three kilometers to the main village of Saunulu, Tehoru District. There are some parents, and their children don't know how to read and write, they are still illiterate (literate). It is hoped that through this activity there will be awareness among parents to send their children to school even though they are faced with limited economic conditions and transportation. Through the implementation of traditional games while learning, it is hoped that culture can be preserved because it is full of moral values and social ethics. The method used is learning assistance while playing. PkM activities were carried out for three days. The community service activities carried out received responsiveness from all children and parents.

Abstract

The use of YouTube as a video sharing platform has become a global phenomenon, and its potential is not only limited to the surrounding environment, but can also be applied at the village level, of course, in Klatakan Villages, Situbondo. The YouTube application already exists on local people’s smartphones. This is characterized by people frequently accessing YouTube in their daily lives, depending on the amount of data quota, or using free wifi networks in various places. This article discusses the innovative concept of developing YouTube as a promotional media to increase the visibility and potential of the local economy in the village by focusing on the benefits for village tourism, developing local products, and empowering the community in Klatakan Village. This approach can be a strategic tool in connecting Klatakan Village with the digital world. In this discussion, we detail 15 references that support this idea, including literature on online interactions, social media marketing, and guerilla marketing strategies. YouTube village development is not just about showcasing the village visually, but also about creating community involvement and sustainable economic opportunities. Through this concept, it is hoped that Klatakan Village can take advantage of the advantages of digital technology to elevate their local potential and increase connectivity with the global community.
