Abstract

This study explored the teaching style of an English teacher at SMP IT Cordova Samarinda using Grasha’s Teaching Style Model (1996), which identifies six types: Expert, Formal Authority, Personal Model, Facilitator, Delegator, and their combinations. The model emphasized how teachers delivered content, interacted with students, and structured the learning environment. A qualitative case study design was applied, focusing on one teacher to gain an in-depth understanding of instructional practices within a real classroom. Following Creswell’s (2013) view, a single case can provide deep insights when purposefully selected. Data collection included classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of instructional documents. The teacher predominantly used Delegator, Facilitator, and Personal Model styles. These approaches promoted student independence, encouraged collaboration, and fostered a more active and competitive learning environment. The study highlighted that such methods helped meet diverse student needs and enhanced engagement. However, challenges were also noted, including the time-consuming nature of these styles and their limited effectiveness for students who relied heavily on direct teacher guidance. While the study's single-participant design limited generalizability, it still offered meaningful insights into the role of teaching style in Indonesian secondary education. The presence of the observer may also have influenced classroom behavior. In conclusion, the findings suggested that professional development programs should focus on varied experiential training to better support junior high school students. The study also recommended further research involving different subjects or educational levels to expand the understanding of effective teaching practices.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize multichannel book distribution efficiency through the integration of machine learning–based demand forecasting and centralized warehouse strategy at PT Mizan Media Utama. Using three years of multichannel sales data from offline stores, marketplaces, resellers, and events, the research employs the XGBoost algorithm to predict monthly demand for selected book SKUs. The results demonstrate that XGBoost consistently outperforms conventional forecasting methods, achieving lower Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and higher R² values, indicating improved accuracy and reliability. Comparative analysis between actual sales in 2025 and forecasted results shows that XGBoost reduces average forecast error by 20–30% compared to traditional projection methods. These accurate predictions support more effective stock allocation within the centralized warehouse, minimizing overstock and stockout risks across sales channels. The findings confirm that integrating predictive analytics into distribution planning enhances operational efficiency, improves inventory control, and strengthens data-driven decision-making. This study contributes both theoretically and practically by demonstrating how machine learning can transform conventional supply chain management into a digitally integrated, responsive, and efficient system suited for the publishing and book distribution industry.

Abstract

This research tends to examine the impactt of influencer marketing and price discounts on consumer purchase intention toward the Erigo brand. The background of this study is derived from the increasing use of digital marketing strategies, particularly through collaborations with influencers and the implementation of discounts to attract consumer attention. Erigo, as a local fashion brand, actively utilizes both strategies, making it a relevant object of study. A quantitative paradigm was employed through a structured survey, obtaining data from 100 followers or consumers of the Erigo brand, which were subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The outcomes indicate that both influencer marketing and price discounts have a significant and positive influence on purchase intention, both partially and simultaneously. These findings underscore the critical imperative of adopting strategically aligned marketing interventions to optimize consumer purchasing decisions, with particular salience for indigenous fashion enterprises such as Erigo.

Abstract

This analysis investigates the effects of social media promotion and Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) on member expansion at Araya Stable Yogyakarta in 2025. The rapid proliferation of social media and the efficacy of E-WOM as a marketing approach, especially in the expanding post-pandemic equestrian training sector, underpins this investigation. A descriptive quantitative methodology was utilized, with questionnaires given to 100 participants, encompassing prospective and current members of Araya Stable. The gathered data were processed using SPSS 15.0. The results indicate that social media impacts membership growth significantly, while E-WOM does not demonstrate statistically relevant influences. Combined, these two variables explain 25.7% of membership growth, with the balance influenced by other elements. Based on these findings, it is determined that refining social media promotional content is vital for attracting potential members, while E-WOM strategies need additional improvement. This study strives to offer practical suggestions to improve digital marketing effectiveness, consequently aiding the business growth of Araya Stable Yogyakarta.

Abstract

A global wave of layoffs has swept across industries such as technology (Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft), media (News Corp, BBC), manufacturing, automotive, banking, and higher education. The World Economic Forum (2025) projects that 41% of global companies—including those in aviation—plan workforce reductions within five years, driven by economic slowdown, geopolitical uncertainty, cost pressures, and AI adoption. The aviation sector has been severely affected: Boeing cut 17,000 jobs, Airbus 2,500, and airlines like Southwest and WestJet have also reduced staff. In Indonesia, Lion Air, AirAsia, and Garuda Indonesia collectively laid off thousands of workers between 2020–2021. Though mass layoffs have since slowed, rising costs and fragile finances signal renewed risks that could threaten public welfare and national stability. This study examines how ESG-based strategic communication can mitigate layoff risks in Indonesia’s aviation industry. It proposes the Re-FLIGHT Model—anchored on six pillars: Reskilling, Fair Labour, Innovation, Growth, Human-Centered, and Transition—as a framework for proactive, ethical, and sustainable communication. Integrating ESG principles into corporate and regulatory strategies, the model promotes inclusive dialogue, responsible leadership, and resilience, positioning ESG as a foundation for social transformation in the aviation sector. The World Economic Forum 2025 reports that 41% of global companies project workforce reductions within five years, including the aviation industry. This continuing wave of layoffs in 2025 is driven by global economic slowdown, uncertain geopolitics, corporate restructuring, operational cost pressures, and the implementation of new technologies (AI), which shift workforce demands. The aviation industry, both global and national, has also faced layoffs. Aircraft manufacturers like Boeing reduced 17,000 employees, while Airbus cut 2,500 from its defense and space division. Global airlines followed: Southwest Airlines (USA) laid off 1,750 staff in February 2025; WestJet (Canada) laid off 6,900 employees in 2022. In Indonesia, Lion Group laid off 2,600 employees in 2020; AirAsia laid off or furloughed 882 staff in 2020. Garuda Indonesia Group laid off 2,400 employees (including pilots) between January 2020 and November 2021. These layoffs are a lingering consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital transformation, post-pandemic efficiency, and macroeconomic pressures. Though Indonesia has not experienced another mass layoff wave, signs of stress are evident in rising operational costs, unrecouped international routes, and airline financial vulnerabilities. The potential for further layoffs in Indonesia’s aviation industry poses significant risks to public and national interests. Layoffs here could have systemic impacts on public welfare and national stability. This study explores how ESG-based strategic communication can mitigate layoff risks in Indonesia’s aviation sector. It emphasizes planned crisis communication, multistakeholder dialogue, and human-centered public narratives to build institutional trust and resilience. Through six key pillars—Reskilling, Fair Labour, Innovation, Growth, Human-Centered, and Transition—the study analyzes how strategic communication, leadership, organizational narrative, and public governance can create a more inclusive and adaptive employment ecosystem. The Re-FLIGHT Model integrates ESG values into organizational communication strategies and introduces an innovative communication framework grounded in sustainability, social justice, and inclusive governance. It can be adopted by regulators and national airlines as an anticipatory, proactive, fair, strategic, and sustainable workforce crisis communication model—broadening ESG perspectives in aviation as a driver of meaningful social transformation.

Abstract

Traditional tableware reflects significant symbolic and aesthetic values that help maintain cultural identity in the era of globalization. However, the shift towards modern products has reduced the role of traditional tableware, leading to a decline in people's understanding of its cultural significance. The study analyzed the literature that highlights the role of traditional tableware in various cultures, focusing on its spiritual, social, and ecological aspects. Using a systematic approach, this study identifies sustainable education and design-based preservation strategies that uphold the symbolic meanings of traditional tableware. Our methods include the analysis of literature and cross-cultural perspectives of different ethnicities. We highlight the importance of integrating traditional tableware into modern education and design to strengthen people's connection to their cultural identity. Our findings suggest that cultural preservation can be enhanced by promoting aesthetics, revitalizing symbolic values, and adopting an ecology-based approach that supports the sustainability of local cultural identity. The study proposes a conceptual framework that guides cultural preservation strategies in the face of the challenges of globalization, offering practical implications for education and product design relevant to modern society.
