Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze positive interactional communication strategies between teachers and students in online learning, focusing on SD Islam Anak Saleh, Malang, during the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research highlights how teachers implement communication strategies to create a comfortable and conducive online learning environment. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through non-participant observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers establish positive communication strategies through four key elements: care, clarity, credibility, and celebration. These strategies support a more effective and structured learning experience. Furthermore, the traditionally asymmetrical power relations between teachers and students have shifted toward a more flexible and participatory model, emphasizing dynamic multi-party collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. The study contributes theoretically by simplifying Gao’s communication strategies into operational methods, and enriching the understanding of flexible and participatory power relations involving multi-party collaboration in online learning. Practically, these findings provide educators and policymakers with a framework for developing more inclusive, adaptive, and collaborative interactional communication strategies, suited for the digital education era.

Abstract

Omnichannel strategies have become key in enhancing consumer experience by creating integrated and seamless interactions across multiple channels. This research highlights the key factors that contribute to the success of omnichannel strategies, including channel integration, personalization, and experience consistency. Channel integration allows consumers to seamlessly switch between online and offline channels, while personalization provides relevant experiences according to individual preferences. Consistency in communication and offerings across channels plays an important role in building customer trust and loyalty. Implications for business practice suggest that companies need to invest in technological infrastructure and human resource training to support effective implementation of omnichannel strategies. This study also suggests that future research explore the integration of new technologies and the challenges faced in implementing omnichannel strategies, as well as their impact on customer loyalty and company profits. Thus, omnichannel strategies not only improve consumer experience, but also provide a sustainable competitive advantage in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of recruitment and work environment on employee performance at PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk. Quantitative approach is used with multiple linear regression analysis method to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that the resulting regression equation is Y = -0.549 + 0.083X1 + 0.934X2Y = -0.549 + 0.083 X_1 + 0.934 X_2Y = -0.549 + 0.083X1 + 0.934X2, where X1X_1X1 is recruitment and X2X_2X2 is the work environment. The simultaneous test (F test) shows the value of FcountF_(\text{count) Fcount of 26.497 which is greater than FtabelF_(\text{count) F tabel (3.195) with a probability of 0.000 (<0.05). This indicates that recruitment and work environment simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance. A partial test (t test) shows that the recruitment variable has a t count value of 0.319, which is smaller than the t table (1.677) with a probability value of 0.751 (> 0.05). These results indicate that recruitment does not have a significant influence on employee performance. In contrast, the work environment variable has a t count value of 6.983, which is greater than the t table (-1.677) with a probability of 0.000 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that the work environment has a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 50.9% indicates that recruitment and work environment together explain the variation in employee performance by 50.9%, while the other 49.1% is explained by other factors outside this study. This study makes an important contribution in understanding the factors that influence employee performance, especially in the context of manufacturing companies such as PT Mandom Indonesia Tbk.

Abstract

This study explores how classroom tasks enhance students’ communicative competence in an English for Receptionists training program using Project-Based Learning (PJBL). By incorporating role-playing, simulations, and task-based interactions reflecting real-life scenarios such as guest greetings, check-ins, complaint handling, and local knowledge sharing, the program aims to develop four components of communicative competence: grammatical, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. Findings show that tailored classroom tasks improve students’ ability to use appropriate grammar and vocabulary, adjust communication to social contexts, organize coherent responses, and employ strategies to overcome communication barriers. The study highlights the critical role of classroom tasks in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and professional demands, offering practical insights for educators to design effective ESP curricula tailored to the hospitality sector.

Abstract

Buluh Duri Tourism Village in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, is a destination known for its unique MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) products, including traditional food and handicrafts. However, a major challenge for local MSMEs is enhancing the value of their products through attractive and functional packaging. This study analyzes the role of packaging in increasing the value and appeal of MSME products, particularly in the tourism market. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through observations, interviews with MSME operators, and document reviews. A SWOT analysis was used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by MSMEs in improving their packaging. The findings indicate that attractive and informative packaging has a significant impact on consumers' purchasing decisions, especially among tourists. MSME products with modern, aesthetically pleasing packaging that reflects local culture and includes clear product information tend to attract more buyers and increase sales. However, limited knowledge and financial resources pose barriers for many local businesses in improving their packaging. The study suggests that continuous collaboration between local government, Pokdarwis (tourism awareness groups), and MSME operators is necessary to provide training and financial support for packaging development. Utilizing digital technology and social media as promotional tools is also recommended to enhance visibility and appeal. Additionally, eco-friendly packaging aligns with modern consumer trends.

Abstract

The limited budget of the education sector sourced from the regional budget, because only around 15% of the Mandatory Spending in the education sector is given by the Mahakam Ulu Regency government from the regional budget. Therefore, an evaluation analysis of the mandatory budget expenditure (mandatory) of the education sector in Mahakam Ulu Regency was carried out using the Joyce and Pattison Model. The post-positivism was used by collecting qualitative data through interviews and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the mandatory output of the education sector in Mahakam Ulu Regency reflects the results of local government policies and programs, especially in remote areas. With optimal budget allocation, the main programs include the management of preschool, elementary school, junior high school, and the distribution of educators. Performance targets include the construction of four teacher/principal rooms each year with a budget of IDR 1.2 billion, as well as the development of infrastructure to create a modern learning environment; Mandatory education outcomes in Mahakam Ulu Regency show significant progress. There is an increase in access and quality of education with 38 elementary schools, 17 junior high schools, and 71 early childhood education centers in 50 villages. The school participation rate for ages 5-6 years reached 80.47% and for ages 7-15 years 99.35%, with a target of 100% in 2024. Net participation rate also increased in early childhood education, elementary schools, and junior high schools, while students' literacy and numeracy skills continued to improve. Expected length of schooling is stable at 12.5-12.6 years, and average length of schooling increased to 7.89 years in 2022, reflecting progress in access to education up to junior high school; The education budget performance indicators in Mahakam Ulu Regency show good achievements, especially in gross participation rate and net participation rate for early childhood education, elementary schools/Islamic elementary schools, and junior high schools/Islamic junior high schools. However, school participation rate-18 years and Equivalency are still constrained by data collection. The absorption of the Education Office budget is more than 70%, but administrative services, such as basic education data and salary disbursement, are less effective, reducing public satisfaction. Improvements in the administrative system are needed to improve services and public trust.
