Jurnal Absis adalah jurnal penelitian yang dikelola oleh program studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Pasir Pengaraian. Absis diambil dari istilah matematika yang merupakan jarak titik terhadap sumbu tegak. Jurnal Absis memuat artikel hasil penelitian atau kajian literatur dalam bidang pendidikan matematika dan matemtika. Jurnal absis terbit dua kali dalam satu tahun yaitu pada bulan April dan Oktober. Jurnal Absis diharapkan dapat menjadi tempat bagi peneliti pendidikan matematika atau matematika utamanya bagi dosen Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Pasir Pengaraian, dosen berbagai universitas, maupun guru untuk mempublikasikan artikel ilmiahnya. Abstract

This research aims to produce a Linear Algebra learning module with MATLAB Software in the Tadris Mathematics Study Program that can be used practically and effectively. This research is development research based on the stages of Dick & Carey. The stages of research carried out in the development of this module are: Needs Analysis, Instructional Analysis, Context Analysis (students and content), The stage of writing performance objectives, Developing assessment instruments, Choosing learning strategies, Developing teaching materials, Designing and conducting formative evaluations, Revising, and The stage of designing and conducting a summative evaluation. The result of the research is that there are significant differences in learning outcomes in the pretest and posttest scores, which means an increase in test scores after using the linear algebra learning module with MATLAB software.

Abstract

This developmental research aims to produce instructional material (LKPD) based on ethnomathematics in traditional Lampung dance to enhance the understanding of lines and angles based on validity and practicality. The research design is development or research and development, designed using the ADDIE development model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, during the implementation phase, only limited testing was conducted. The instruments used in this research were a questionnaire for expert content and media validation to assess the instructional material's validity. In contrast, a questionnaire for student responses was used to determine the practicality of the instructional material. The research results indicate the quality of the developed product, which received a highly valid rating from content and media experts. As for practicality, based on the questionnaire responses from 9 students at SMP Negeri 1 Sukadana, the overall average score obtained was 3.58, indicating that the developed instructional material falls under the category of highly practical.

Abstract

Choco Late is a beverage outlet in Panam Pekanbaru that sells drinks with various flavors that can be combined with various additional toppings. This study aims to determine the priority criteria for customers visiting the Choco Late beverage outlet using the Fuzzy AHP method. The AHP Fuzzy method combines the AHP method and the Fuzzy method. The AHP Fuzzy approach, especially the triangular fuzzy number approach with the AHP scale, must be able to minimize uncertainty so that the results are accurate. The criteria used in this study are service, goods sold, and the Choco Late environment. Based on the data calculation steps obtained by Fuzzy AHP, the respondent has a CR value = 0.0834, which means it is consistent because it meets the standards set CR < 0.10, and the main priority is service with a criterion weight of 0.7339

Abstract

Mismatches between teacher-created learning tools and 2013 curriculum requirements affect students' level of understanding of learning materials, primarily linear equations and inequalities of one variable. This study aims to create a learning tool based on problem-based learning of linear equation materials and one-variable inequalities that is valid and practical for class VII SMP/MTs. The resulting learning tools are a syllabus, a learning implementation plan (RPP), and a student activity sheet (LAS). This learning tool is a development study using a 4D model that consists of four stages: definition, design, development, and dissemination. The means of this research were verification sheets and student response questionnaires. The data analysis performed is a validity analysis and a utility analysis. The syllabus, lesson, and LAS validation results show very valid criteria with average validation values ​​of 3.64, 3.60, and 3.61, respectively. The results of limited LAS testing showed that LAS met very practical criteria with an average utility value of 3.61. A problem-based learning tool for linear equations and inequalities in one variable class VII SMP / MT meets valid and practical criteria based on validation and limited test results. It can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to confirm the effectiveness of implementing the project-based learning (PjBL) model. The results of this study show that applying the PjBL model to the optimization method course has efficacy in terms of positive responses to learning participation according to the outcomes that need to be met at each meeting increase. As many as 100% of student studies show that learning a musical instrument in the form of materials and task plans can stimulate learning and curiosity in students. Additionally, 98% of students said they were delighted with the project assignments, and 2% said they were burdened with their tasks. Ninety percent of students said group work helped them complete a particular project, and 5% of students said they disagreed with their group assignments. In addition to the questionnaire, the effectiveness of implementing the PjBL model can be seen from the written exam results and the given project assignments. These are cumulative to the final value of the optimization technique course. That means 71% of students get an A. 17% A- and 10% B+. The value indicates that the optimization techniques course is very successful, and no student fails while working with the PJBL model

Abstract

This research uses a quantitative approach. This study aims to determine the increase in problem-solving skills using the Problem-Based Learning Model, which is better than what is taught through conventional learning assisted by Video Learning in Elementary Schools. The type of research used in this research is experimental. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through tests, namely pre-tests and post-tests, in the form of problem-solving ability tests and observations of the learning. The pre-test was carried out before the learning took place, and the post-test was carried out after the learning took place on both experimental and control groups. This instrument consists of test questions to measure students' problem-solving abilities. Data were analyzed by comparing student scores obtained from student results before and after being treated with conventional learning. The study results concluded that the obtained t-table value could be written as follows; t-table with a significance level of 5% = 1.303 < t-count = 2.076 for t-count or ha is accepted and ho is rejected. This video-based PBL model is suitable for learning mathematics in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of ICT on increasing students' mathematical literacy. A systematic literature review (SLR) was used in this study because it was necessary to identify, review, evaluate, and analyze all research related to the impact of ICT on mathematical literacy skills. It is hoped that this research can provide information about the influence of ICT on mathematical literacy abilities. The Science Direct, Scopus, Eric, and Google Scholar databases were used to search for literature studies. Literature search inclusion criteria were that the research subjects were students, research results had been published in journals, and there were only a few articles from 2013 to 2022. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, literature was selected and analyzed. Based on predetermined inclusion criteria, data related to keywords were obtained from 16 journal articles that were relevant and eligible for systematic review. Most research uses computers and Edmodo, and 15% each is used to improve mathematical literacy skills; this shows that ICT has a practical impact on increasing mathematical literacy.

Abstract

Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), structured in the learning plan, require student-centered learning and the role of the lecturer as a facilitator known as Student-Centered Learning (SCL). One learning model that facilitates students to fulfil CPL is the PjBL (Project Based Learning) model. The purpose of this research is to achieve the vision and mission of the study program, which is to improve the quality of education in the learning process through the achievement of CPL. Discrete Mathematics is a course that provides fundamental material in computational science and a mathematical foundation for other courses that require programming. Therefore, the PJBL learning model was applied to the Discrete Mathematics course in this study, addressing mathematical problems and supporting the fulfilment of CPL in the course. This research approach is qualitative, involving activities, and quantitative in student responses after learning using the PjBL model. Research activities have three stages: preparation, implementation, and final. The research subjects were two classes of Semester 3 Mathematics study program students with 59 students. In the learning process using the PjBL model, there are two projects that students have implemented, and based on a questionnaire distributed to students, the majority of students feel that the implementation of PjBL is suitable for the Discrete Mathematics course.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills play a crucial role in education development, especially in the context of mathematics learning in schools. Unfortunately, research indicates that students' critical thinking abilities in class X MIPA 2 at SMAN 13 Padang are still low. During the learning process, students tend to focus solely on the final formulas provided by their teachers without attempting to understand the underlying steps, often resorting to copying them into their notes. Therefore, this research aims to describe and analyze students' critical thinking abilities in solving mathematics problems in class X MIPA at SMAN 13 Padang.The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive research design. The research subjects involve all students in class X MIPA 2 at SMAN 13 Padang, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consist of a critical thinking ability test followed by interviews with six students, each representing high, medium, and low-performing groups based on the critical thinking ability test results. The research findings indicate significant variations in the critical thinking abilities of students in class X MIPA 2 at SMAN 13 Padang. The high-performing group achieved 21.21%, the medium-performing group reached 63.63%, while the low-performing group only reached 15.15%.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' mathematical literacy and self-regulated learning abilities by implementing video-based YouTube blended learning. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach. Two classes, namely the experimental and control groups, were involved in this research. The study population consisted of all eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 23 Medan, comprising six classes without special classes. Sampling was conducted randomly using the simple random sampling method. The experimental group consisted of 27 students from class VIII-C, while the control group consisted of 27 students from class VIII-A. The research instruments used included essay tests and questionnaires. Based on the data analysis and research findings, the significance value for mathematical literacy was 0.008, and for self-regulated learning was 0.000. As both probability values were less than 5%, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. This result indicates that implementing video-based YouTube blended learning improved students' mathematical literacy and self-regulated learning abilities at SMP Negeri 23 Medan.
