Abstract

This research aims to describe the representation of women's empowerment in song lyrics on Yura Yunita's album Tutur Batin. This album was selected because it addresses themes of self-acceptance, emotional strength, and women's struggles against patriarchal norms. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a feminist literary criticism perspective. The data, consisting of song lyrics, were analyzed based on aspects of women's empowerment including self-awareness, control over life, courage in decision-making, and efforts to resist social standards that limit women. Data collection techniques utilized documentation study, while data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the song lyrics in the Tutur Batin album represent women's empowerment through reflective narratives, self-affirmation, and strengthening of women's identity as empowered and emotionally independent individuals. Women's empowerment is portrayed through processes of self-acceptance, emotional healing, and rejection of unjust social demands. This research contributes to feminist literary studies and broadens understanding of music as a medium for advocacy and representation of women's empowerment.

Abstract

The violence directed against alleged practitioners of witchcraft (santet) in Banyuwangi in 1998 resulted in a significant loss of life and left a lasting stigma on santet, which had long been embedded in the everyday cultural practices of the Osing community. This incident transformed the meaning of santet and contributed to its use as a subject of ridicule toward the Osing people of Banyuwangi. This study aims to examine Banyuwangi santet as an arena of contestation between social stigma and local cultural roots. Employing the historical method and drawing upon a socio-cultural methodological framework, this research reconstructs santet both as an element of intangible cultural heritage and as a historical phenomenon associated with the witchcraft and “ninja” violence that emerged in Banyuwangi during the post-Reformasi period. The findings indicate that the santet issue originated from a complex horizontal conflict that generated widespread social unrest at the grassroots level and later evolved into a vertical conflict characterized by allegations that the perpetrators of the violence were hired assassins referred to as “ninjas.” The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of these dynamics while simultaneously contributing recommendations for culturally based reconciliation and trauma recovery as preventive measures against the recurrence of similar incidents in communities that remain vulnerable to rumors and cultural violence. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that the unresolved legal status of this tragedy illustrates how stigma can reinforce collective violence, while the culture of santet itself is often misunderstood despite representing a complex form of local cultural heritage and wisdom.

Abstract

The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) as the new center of government in Indonesia has brought significant changes to the lives of local communities, including the Balik Tribe. This study aims to analyze the impact of IKN development on the social, cultural, and economic aspects of the Balik Tribe community, as well as to identify local potential that can be developed as an adaptation strategy. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that IKN development has a positive impact in the form of increased economic access, the opening of employment opportunities, and opportunities for business development based on local potential. However, there are also negative impacts, such as threats to the preservation of cultural identity, limited access to resources, and potential marginalization due to competition with newcomers. The Balik Tribe has various local potentials, including cultural wisdom, natural resources, and the ability to adapt economically through business diversification, which can be important capital in facing these changes. Therefore, systematic support from the government and stakeholders is needed through empowerment programs, training, and protection of indigenous peoples' rights to ensure the sustainability and welfare of local communities amidst the IKN development.

Abstract

Failure is a situation where someone is unable to achieve their desires or achieve their desired goals. There are many ways to deal with failure for someone who experiences failure. This study aims to determine how young people respond to failure and shift the form of failure from TNI Soldiers to professions outside the TNI Soldier. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. Ten Respondents were randomly selected from different regions. Data collection techniques used were through interviews and analysis techniques through Creswell's steps, from organizing data to presenting and visualizing it with the help of Atlas TI software. The results showed that those who had experienced failure to become TNI Soldiers responded almost uniformly to negative and positive responses. Negative responses mostly mentioned a lack of transparency in the selection process and the absence of support and "backing". Meanwhile, positive responses, Respondents realized that success requires hard work and long preparation. Sincerity, patience, acceptance of circumstances and enthusiasm in seeking alternative professions outside the TNI Soldier, and belief in God's destiny were forms of self-evaluation of the Respondents. The results of this study are expected to help young people in Indonesia who want to become TNI soldiers, on how to prepare themselves and how to respond if they fail to achieve their dreams..

Abstract

Social science faces the challenge of bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and the dynamics of social reality. Conventional learning models tend to limit learning experiences, making it difficult to understand the complexity of an ever-changing social reality. This study aims to identify forms of outdoor laboratories and learning models that can support the learning process in the social sciences. The research method employed a literature review, with literature searches conducted through Publish or Perish, Consensus, Google Scholar, Gate, and Scopus using the keywords: "outdoor laboratory, outdoor activity, social science laboratory, living laboratory, and outdoor learning. Data analysis used thematic analysis to identify key patterns in the concepts, implementation, and impacts of outdoor laboratory-based learning. The results indicate that outdoor laboratories have been understood as spaces for knowledge production grounded in direct interaction with communities. Suitable learning models include outdoor learning with a design thinking approach and the Living Lab model, which emphasizes social innovation. The use of outdoor laboratories has a positive impact on cognitive aspects by enhancing critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities, as well as on social-emotional aspects by strengthening leadership character and awareness of environmental and local cultural issues. However, its implementation faces challenges related to human resources, infrastructure limitations, and integration with the formal curriculum. This research contributes to the development of a conceptual framework for outdoor laboratories to facilitate more contextual, authentic, and meaningful social science learning.
The Repetition of the Dialogue ‘Hi, I’m Sore’ as a Dramaturgical Technique in Character Development in the Movie Sore: Wife from the Future: Repetisi Dialog “Hai, Aku Sore” Sebagai Teknik Dramaturgi dalam Pengembangan Karakter Film Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan Chelsea Nakita; Arsenia Yulia Pramesti; Erlina Santi Rahmadani; Fadila Nuriska; Nur Arif Anandhita

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the function of the repeated dialogue “Hi, I’m Sore…” as a dramaturgical technique in character development in the film Sore: Wife from the Future and to examine its implications for performing arts education. The film Sore depicts a woman (the Wife) trapped in a romantic time travel scenario in an effort to save Jo (the Husband). Repetition in a performance piece is not merely textual repetition but a dramatic device capable of building emotional intensity, intensifying conflict, and marking the transformative development of a character. This study employs a qualitative method with a dramaturgical analysis approach, focusing on the development of conflict and shifts in the meaning of dialogue with each recurrence. Data collection techniques involved textual and visual observation of scenes containing the dialogue in question. The results indicate that the same dialogue undergoes a shift in meaning as the relationships between characters and the dynamics of conflict evolve, thereby functioning as a dramatic strategy to underscore the characters’ psychological growth. Furthermore, these findings hold pedagogical relevance for performing arts education, particularly as a model for exercises in emotional exploration and textual interpretation for performing arts students. Dialogue repetition can be utilized as a training method to understand character transformation through variations in intensity, gestures, and different dramatic contexts. Thus, this study affirms that the technique of repetition in film can serve as a conceptual and practical reference in the development of performing arts teaching strategies. The analysis shows that repetition appears in the form of the repetition of daily habits in dialogue, situations, and interactions between characters. This repetition is not static but rather a shift in meaning that reflects the psychological development of the character’s role. Jonathan’s character transformation is evident in stages, evolving from an indifferent attitude to one that is more self-aware, reflective, and responsible for his life.

Abstract

The accelerating integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into legal services has raised pressing questions about the duties, authority, and ethical boundaries of the notarial profession. This study analyses the legal risks and ethical considerations associated with the use of AI in notarial practice, focusing on the Indonesian normative framework. Using a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and doctrinal approaches, this research examines the Notary Office Act (UUJN), the Electronic Information and Transactions Act (UU ITE), the Personal Data Protection Act (UU PDP), and related regulations alongside scholarly literature on AI and law. The findings show that AI cannot be classified as a legal subject because it lacks the capacity to bear rights and obligations; instead, it functions as a legal object or technological tool whose operation remains under human control. While AI may improve efficiency in document drafting, identity verification, and archival management, its uncritical adoption threatens the principles of physical presence, personal authority, evidentiary value of authentic deeds, and notarial accountability. The study concludes that comprehensive regulatory reform and an updated code of ethics are required so that AI strengthens rather than displaces the notarial profession in the digital era.

Abstract

History learning in Indonesian senior high schools faces a paradox in which the curriculum mandates the formation of historical awareness while classroom practice still relies on conventional methods such as textbooks, slide presentations, and online videos. Local heritage sites that could anchor meaningful learning often remain geographically inaccessible to most students. This study addresses that gap by examining the effectiveness of a virtual reality learning medium based on Candi Kedaton Muara Jambi in enhancing the historical awareness of tenth-grade students at SMA Pangudi Luhur Sedayu. A 360-degree video integrated with virtual reality was developed using a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE model and was validated by media and content experts. The product was implemented through a quasi-experimental design involving 64 students divided into experimental and control classes of 32 students each. Historical awareness data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire administered as pre-test and post-test, and the data were analysed using SPSS 25 with Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Levene, paired-sample t-test, and independent-sample t-test. The findings indicate that the experimental class improved from a mean of 75.83 to 84.91 while the control class moved from 74.96 to 78.53. The independent-sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.000, confirming that the virtual reality medium has a statistically significant effect on historical awareness. The novelty of this study lies in connecting students directly with a specific Hindu-Buddhist site located outside Java through immersive technology, focusing measurement on the affective construct of historical awareness, and providing strong empirical support through a rigorous quasi-experimental design.

Abstract

Psychological dimensions of academic performance have long been underexplored in history education contexts, yet self-confidence emerges as a variable of considerable theoretical weight. Anchored within a quantitative correlational design, this investigation recruited 83 tenth-grade students drawn from a broader population of 281 as its primary research subjects. Two instruments anchored the data collection process: a structured self-confidence questionnaire and documented achievement scores in history subjects, both administered to capture the interplay between affective disposition and academic output. Statistical interrogation of the data employed the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique, yielding a correlation coefficient of 0.804 alongside a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). Such figures are, frankly, difficult to dismiss. The magnitude of this association signals that self-confidence does not merely accompany strong academic results in history learning, it actively contributes to them. What the numbers ultimately illuminate is a pattern both statistically robust and pedagogically meaningful: students operating with higher self-confidence demonstrate correspondingly elevated learning achievement. Beyond the numerical argument, these results furnish empirical grounding for the broader claim that psychological factors warrant deliberate attention in educational frameworks, particularly within history education where interpretive confidence and expressive engagement carry disproportionate weight. The study thus reinforces an often intuited but insufficiently documented truth, that cultivating students' inner assurance is not peripheral to academic success but rather structurally intertwined with it.
