Abstract

Effective financial management is crucial for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to accurately determine business profits and losses and conduct thorough evaluations for strategic decision-making. Many MSMEs struggle with suboptimal financial management due to a limited understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, planning, and budgeting. To address these challenges, a community service team organized an event titled “Financial Management Education for MSMEs as a Tool to Determine Business Profit and Loss.” Held on June 29, 2024, in Kadudampit Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, the event engaged 30 MSME participants from Gede Pangrango Village, Sukamaju Village, and Kadudampit Village. The program included field observations, obtaining necessary permits, and the event execution. Participants underwent a pre-test to assess their initial knowledge, followed by a detailed instructional phase featuring presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions. Topics covered included fundamental accounting principles, financial reporting, cost of production, pricing strategies, and break-even analysis. The event concluded with a post-test to evaluate knowledge improvements. Results indicated a significant enhancement in participants' understanding of financial management, likely aiding their business development and growth.

Abstract

Lauk Babakan Village is one of the tourist villages in Bogor City. Previous research revealed that the community, especially women around Lauk Babakan Village, had conducted workshops on making fish dishes to support tourism activities in the local area. The food products made are shredded catfish and catfish nuggets. The community also has other food businesses such as ready-to-fry seasoned fish, fish fillets and others. The problem with partner groups is that there are fewer people who are active in trying and working together to support local tourism activities. The aim of this activity is to revive community interest and participation in producing fish-based culinary delights in accordance with the superior potential of the local area. This activity also makes it easier for local people who want to try their hand at the culinary sector by providing packaging for local culinary production. Implementation activities result in participants who have taken part in fish culinary training being able to produce fish culinary dishes correctly. Fish culinary products made by the community have been marketed through social media and exhibitions.

Abstract

The training was carried out as a community service program that aimed to increase the skills of extension workers, village officials and peasants in Galing District, Sambas District, in mapping land for rice fields using the Avenza Map application. The background to this work stems from the urgent need for accurate, real-time information on agrarian land management, which is critical to promoting food security. Analysis of the situation has shown that many of the local growers and extension workers do not yet have the necessary skills to use modern mapping technologies, which hinders the efficiency and effectiveness of land management. The problems encountered include a lack of knowledge about mapping applications, as well as limitations in the acquisition and presentation of relevant data. The program, in part, provided training involving material delivery, question and answer sessions, and the practice of using Avenza Map. The training was designed to give the competitors practical knowledge and skills, so they could create job maps, input data, and present information in a geographic information system (SIG). This conclusion indicates that the training not only improves the skill of the participants, but also raises awareness of the importance of technology in modern farming. As the result, community service programs are expected to bring about a sustainable positive impact on rice field management in Kecamatan Galing, as well as encourage active community participation in utilizing technology to improve agricultural productivity.

Abstract

A common complaint often experienced by adolescent girls during menstruation is menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea. Menstrual pain is caused by an imbalance of hormones such as prostaglandins and progesterone due to uterine contractions that affect each individual. Many activities of adolescent girls are disrupted by this menstrual pain, including female students at the Pesantren Yatim Cahaya Mandiri, South Tangerang, Banten. The objective of this community service is to address menstrual pain in adolescents through several methods including: 1) providing education on nonpharmacological therapy to reduce menstrual pain, addressing the lack of information, knowledge, and understanding related to menstruation; 2) training in life skills to adapt to menstrual disturbances, aimed at overcoming the low level of life skills in dealing with menstrual issues; 3) implementing 16-hour Intermittent Fasting (16:8) and doing murojaah (to maintain the memorization of the Quran good, fluent, and correct) using the "Guide Me" app for menstrual pain in adolescent girls; 4) supervising and reevaluating programs to address menstrual disturbances using the "Guide Me" app; 5) adopting positive lifestyle changes to reduce menstrual disturbances (efforts to reduce menstrual pain). Adolescents are able to remain productive during menstruation, implement Intermittent Fasting (16:8), and stay healthier and more productive even while menstruating. The results of this intervention have proven effective in reducing menstrual pain through non-pharmacological therapy, leading to healthier and more sustainable productivity for adolescent girls. Those who initially experienced severe pain (scale 6), causing distress and lower abdominal cramps during menstruation that often reduced their quality of life—along with discomfort affecting their physical and mental well-being, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, breast pain, rectal swelling, and diarrhea—reported a reduction in menstrual pain to a scale of 3 after this intervention.

Abstract

According to PLN data, electricity demand in Indonesia continues to grow until November 2022, reaching 3,128.8 MVA with 193,058 customers in the Agricultural Electrification (EA) sector. Indonesia has solar energy potential reaching 2,898 GW, but only 0.2 GW has been installed until 2021. In Mulyoarjo Village, Lawang District, our partners hope to utilise solar energy to support agriculture. The partner location has good sunlight potential for solar panel installation. This community service activity aims to apply Photovoltaic-Based Renewable Power technology (TTG DC PV Pump) to increase agricultural productivity in partner villages. The implementation method involves survey, design, installation, field test, and handover. The results showed that the peak of solar illumination occurred at 11.30 am with a voltage of 13.5V and a current of 14.58A on the solar panel. These findings can be the basis for improving agricultural efficiency in Mulyoarjo Village by optimally utilising the available solar energy.

Abstract

Symbolic violence is a form of violence that occurs through language, symbols, or actions that demean, discriminate, or exploit a person or group. Preventing symbolic violence can be done by increasing awareness about symbolic violence and its impact on society, respecting diversity and avoiding stereotypes that demean or discriminate against certain groups, encouraging critical thinking and self-reflection in individuals and groups to avoid actions or speech that can cause symbolic violence, develop policies that are inclusive and respect diversity in educational environments, workplaces and communities. For this reason, it is necessary to collaborate between service members who are lecturers at Singaperbangsa University Karawang and students of SMA 1 Teluk Jambe in Karawang Regency which aims to identify symbolic violence that occurs in society and socialize the Anti-Symbolic Violence Movement through the Snake and Ladder Game. By combining these approaches, it is hoped that it will be easier to identify symbolic violence and take steps to prevent and overcome the problem early on.

Abstract

The reforms taking place in Indonesia have resulted in the emergence of a democratic spirit, accountability and transparency in the government sector. Reforms in various fields have led to the realization of the implementation of the duties and functions of state governance and development characterized by the principles of good governance. In implementing education, schools have autonomy. This educational autonomy model is School Based Management (SBM). Schools have the authority to carry out creativity, innovation and improvisation in realizing quality education. The School-Based Management (SBM) concept makes education management more focused and well-coordinated in terms of implementation, funding, development and supervision. This Community Service Program seeks to provide answers and solutions to problems to create accountability and transparency in financial management in public institutions at the central and regional levels, including schools. Based on the problems faced by the community, the service that will be carried out is to provide training and education to the school, especially the Principal, Treasurer and Financial Executive at SD Muhammadiyah Semboro Jember. This community service method uses seminars/workshops, practice and discussions with the Principal, Treasurer and Financial Executive at SD Muhammadiyah Semboro Jember
