Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the biggest health issues for women worldwide. It is a free radical that develops in breast tissue and causes malignant neoplasms that can lead to death in women. Breast cancer is also a malignant disease that begins to attack the cells of the breast. One of the reasons for the rise in breast cancer is the low awareness regarding screening or early detection. SADARI or Breast Self ExaminatSelf-Examinationeasy, inexpensive, effective, and non-invasive method for the early detection of breast cancer, yet it is still not widely recognized and performed regularly. The purpose of this community service activity is to enhance awareness for early screening or early detection to prevent breast cancer by promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging self-breast examinations (SADARI) from an early age. The participants in this activity are 76 female high school students from Perguruan Advent Salemba, and they have never participated in similar activities related to Breast Self-Examination. This activity went smoothly and successfully, as evidenced by the increase in the students' knowledge before and after the counseling, and several students were able to perform SADARI practice correctly and well.

Abstract

Teachers in the twenty-first century need to be digitally literate in order to raise the calibre of instruction. According to a scenario analysis conducted at SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata, over 80% of instructors require training in the development of ICT and website-based learning materials since doing so lowers student involvement and the quality of instruction. Teachers were given extensive training to enable them to build and utilise digital learning resources in order to solve this problem. Because of this, over 90% of the trainees were able to develop online and ICT platforms to provide engaging and useful learning materials. As a result, this training not only helps instructors meet their skill demands, but it also greatly enhances the teaching and learning process in the digital age. For the training programme to continue supporting teachers' professional growth in the future, sustainability is crucial. This project, financed by the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM), with contract number Manual.164/E5/DT.05.00.2024, is to assist in the enhancement of the quality of instruction.

Abstract

E-modules or electronic modules are non-printing digital modules that are developed with special computer-assisted applications, and multimedia elements are provided to make them more attractive and interactive. To make the module more interesting, teachers also need innovation in developing modules, namely modules based on approaches, methods or models. One that can be developed is combining the PjBL learning model with the STEM approach. The combination of the application of the STEM approach with the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model can encourage cooperation between educational institutions and industry. The PjBL model emphasizes project-based learning with a STEM approach that requires integration between natural science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The combination can develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills in their students. However, the reality in the field based on interviews with the head of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP, there is no e-module for mathematics learning based on PjBL with a STEM approach for teachers and students in Donggala Regency. Teachers who are members of the Mathematics Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) as partners of this service are still experiencing problems in making modules / e-modules that are interestingly interactive and link them to learning approaches and models. These problems are caused by various factors, including members of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP who do not understand: 1) the principles of interesting and interactive e-module design, 2) techniques for making PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach, 3) techniques for designing and implementing effective project-based learning (PjBL) and combining science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in chemistry learning (STEM). The solution offered to overcome the partner's problems is to provide workshops/training: 1) the principles of attractive and interactive e-module design, 2) making PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach, 3) how to analyze and interpret mathematics materials related to project-based learning (PjBL, as well as analysis of mathematics materials related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and their incorporation techniques in mathematics learning (STEM) The purpose of this service activity is to overcome partner problems in compiling and developing PjBL-based e-modules with a STEM approach so as to improve the numeracy-literacy skills of teachers who are members of the Donggala district mathematics MGMP. The outputs that have been achieved are that the members of the partner group have made PjBl-based e-modules with a STEM approach so that there is an increase in their numeracy literacy skills and publish the e-modules and process them into the form of PjBl-based books / modules with a STEM approach that has an ISBN and HaKi.

Abstract

Higher order thinking skills or abbreviated as HOTS is an ability that is applied in the revised 2013 Curriculum. Teachers are required to be able to create Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) oriented questions, namely questions whose questions are able to train students to think at a high level of analysis, evaluation, and creation. The provision of HOTS questions aims to create challenging learning for students to reflect and apply their reasoning. However, the reality in the field based on interviews and the distribution of needs analysis questionnaires among chemistry teachers obtained data of 50% in the classification of good enough for indicators of knowledge of HOTS questions, indicating that the level of preparation of HOTS questions for chemistry teachers is not optimal. Most of the questions given are still at the LOTS level, because it is difficult to find the accuracy of the level of questions that are reached by students' abilities. Partners have not used pedagogic-chem strategies to develop HOTS questions, such as the use of contexts that are relevant to students' lives. Teachers who are members of the Chemistry Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) as partners of this service still experience problems in analyzing the forms of questions that can improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS). To overcome this problem, training and mentoring with a participatory model were conducted, which included: a) introducing the concept, function, and purpose of HOTS questions to face 21st century skills, b) introducing the utilization of HOTS questions in learning evaluation along with applicable and principle steps, c) guiding teachers to create a bank of HOTS questions according to the division of domains and aspects of measuring HOTS achievement, d) guiding teachers in direct practice in mapping HOTS questions to the achievement of learning objectives in the process of achieving pedagogic-Chem, e) mentoring online and offline in the process of developing HOTS question banks obtained digitally and conventionally systematically, f) mentoring in utilizing digital information through relevant sources in making HOTS questions, g) mentoring in the process of searching for various information that can be managed and developed into HOTS questions based on digital literacy, and h) mentoring in the pedagogic-Chem evaluation process of HOTS question testing in the classroom productively. These activities have been carried out well thanks to good cooperation with various parties. This is illustrated by the outputs in the form of HOTS questions that the participants have made from the training and mentoring results of this service. The final result of this service is in accordance with the expected target, namely the book of HOTS questions produced which is used in chemistry learning.

Abstract

Bogor City has the potential for natural, cultural, and culinary tourism, including Thematic Tourism Villages. One of the villages that has the potential to be developed as a tourist destination in Bogor City is Kampung Mandiri, located in Kebon Pedes, Tanah Sareal District, which features a dairy farm in the middle of the city. This village is easily accessible from Bogor and Jakarta, with its main economy coming from livestock and culinary businesses. The community service activities aim to enhance the skills of farmers and brand Kampung Mandiri. The first training conducted was on Developing Dairy-Based Products, and the second was on Branding Strategies for Kampung Mandiri. These trainings were based on prior observations that the community in Kampung Mandiri lacked product variety and understanding of the importance of branding. As a result of the first training, participants learned to create dairy products such as dairy nuggets, milk candies, and milk mochi. In the second training on branding, Kampung Mandiri will use the logo KAMPUSS (Kampung Mandiri Susu Sapi Perah) as its identity and create an Instagram account for branding purposes. The training has proven to enhance the skills of farmers, members of the PKK (Family Welfare Program), and MSMEs in Kampung Mandiri, based on the results of pre-tests and post-tests conducted after the training.
