Abstract

This study examines the influence of price and income on home purchase decisions in Bekasi Regency, framed within the context of Indonesia’s improving housing conditions. National data show a reduction in the housing backlog from 16.14 million units in 2022 to 14.84 million units in 2023, reflecting notable progress in meeting residential needs. The population under investigation consists of millennials and Generation Z in Bekasi Regency, who are increasingly influential demographic groups in the housing market. Using non-probability sampling techniques, this study involved 100 respondents to collect relevant data. A quantitative approach utilizing SEM-PLS analysis was employed to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The research findings show that house price significantly influences purchasing decisions with a p-value 0.05. The results of the coefficient of determination (R²) analysis indicate that the purchase decision variable has an R² value of 0.473, suggesting that 47.3% of its variance is explained by the factors of housing price and income, while the remaining 52.7% is influenced by other external variables. These findings emphasize that, although income affects purchasing power, price remains the primary determinant of home-buying decisions. The study provides guidance for developing more effective housing marketing strategies and serves as a reference for future research on other influencing factors in the property market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze instructor performance in educational contexts by classifying instructors based on learner evaluation data through the K-Means clustering algorithm and developing a predictive model to support effective and targeted instructor development programs. The data were derived from learners’ evaluations of instructors, covering aspects such as discipline and professionalism, mastery of subject matter, and pedagogical skills in delivering content. The results indicate that k=3 is the optimal cluster, producing three categories: Superior Instructor, Potential Instructor, and Developing Instructor. Furthermore, the predictive model demonstrates that the Naive Bayes algorithm outperforms XGBoost in performance prediction, achieving higher accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-scores. The integration of clustering and prediction proves effective in enabling faster, objective, and data-driven decisions for instructor development. These findings provide significant implications for educational institutions in establishing adaptive and sustainable systems of instructor evaluation and management.‎

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of e-purchasing in promoting domestic product utilization within the Bureau of Goods and Services Procurement of North Sumatra Province and explores the barriers affecting policy implementation. Using a qualitative descriptive case study, data were obtained through document review, observation, and interviews with procurement officials and stakeholders. Findings show that e-purchasing has improved efficiency and transparency in procurement and encouraged greater use of domestic products, although outcomes remain limited. While there is a positive trend in procurement packages meeting the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), the proportion remains relatively low. Key barriers include the weak competitiveness of local products, limited user understanding of the e-purchasing system, and inadequate oversight of TKDN enforcement. The study recommends strengthening local business capacity, expanding policy dissemination, and improving monitoring mechanisms to enhance the role of e-purchasing in supporting economic self-reliance through domestic products.‎

Abstract

This study examines the dishonorable dismissal of civil servants in cases of corruption by analyzing its legal and political dimensions from the perspective of fiqh siyasah. The research adopts a normative juridical method with a legislative, conceptual, and case approach, focusing on the decision of the Regent of Sijunjung regarding the plaintiff’s dismissal. The problem addressed in this study is whether the dismissal was consistent with legal certainty and the principles of justice under both national law and Islamic political jurisprudence. The findings indicate that the Regent’s decision created legal uncertainty and conflicted with the principle of rechtmatigheid, as no dictum revoked the prior decision reinstating the plaintiff, leaving both decisions simultaneously valid. Furthermore, the dismissal was based on retroactive application of Law No. 5/2014, Government Regulation No. 11/2017, and the Decree of Three Ministers, which contradicts Article 28I paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution and the general principles of good governance. From the perspective of fiqh siyasah, the retroactive application is inconsistent with the principles of justice (al-‘adl), legal certainty (al-yaqin), benefit (al-mashlahah), accountability (mas’uliyyah), and transparency (ash-shafafiyyah). This study concludes that dishonorable dismissal in this case undermines both state law and Islamic political ethics, highlighting the need for consistency, fairness, and non-retroactivity in public service governance.‎

Abstract

This study explores the role of multimedia in enhancing students’ understanding of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) in madrasahs through a systematic literature review. SKI, as a subject mandated by the curriculum, is often taught in monotonous ways that rely heavily on rote memorization and note-taking, leading to student passivity and disengagement. To address this challenge, the study analyzes how multimedia can provide alternative approaches that are more interactive, student-centered, and motivating. A qualitative literature review was conducted by examining 45,726 sources from ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and Google Search, with inclusion and exclusion criteria applied based on publication year, keywords, type of publication, and topic relevance. From this process, four representative data sets were identified and analyzed. The findings reveal that multimedia significantly improves the learning outcomes of SKI by increasing student-teacher interaction, stimulating motivation, and enabling effective knowledge transfer. Multimedia also supports independent exploration and fosters active learning experiences. Beyond pedagogical benefits, the study highlights psychological implications, such as enhancing emotional and spiritual engagement through audiovisual content, and moral implications, where multimedia can reinforce Islamic values like honesty, responsibility, and the love of knowledge when designed with strong value orientation. In conclusion, the integration of multimedia into SKI teaching is not only a strategy to improve comprehension and engagement but also a medium to cultivate Islamic character and values, provided that its development is carefully adapted to students’ learning needs.

Abstract

This study analyzes community participation in paying the Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) in Medan City. It asks: What forms does citizen participation take, what strategies does the municipality deploy to stimulate fiscal engagement, and what obstacles limit participation? A qualitative descriptive design was used, combining in-depth interviews, field observation, and document analysis with informants from the local revenue agency and taxpayers across socio-economic groups. Findings show higher participation in urban neighborhoods due to better information access, stronger tax literacy, and uptake of digital services, while peripheral areas face uneven information distribution, limited access to efficient administrative services, and weak perceptions of tangible benefits. Municipal initiatives—service digitalization, community-based campaigns, and incentives—have yielded positive yet uneven effects, requiring broader reach and more consistent implementation. The study concludes that tax participation reflects the quality of state–citizen relations; sustained, collaborative, and equity-oriented approaches are needed to consolidate compliance and, in turn, strengthen locally generated revenue and inclusive development.‎

Abstract

This article examines the application of John Dewey’s experiential learning approach within Islamic Religious Education (PAI), highlighting its relevance in linking theory to practice for a deeper and contextual understanding of religion. Employing a library research method, the study investigates how experiential learning can be integrated into PAI and its implications for cultivating reflective and ethical awareness among students in both schools and higher education. The findings reveal that experiential learning not only enables students to grasp Islamic teachings theoretically but also to internalize their values through reflective practice. Furthermore, it fosters critical thinking and ethical awareness by engaging learners in problem-based learning, case studies, and social participation. The approach also contributes to reconstructing a dynamic Islamic epistemology that connects empirical experience with critical reflection, thereby making Islamic teachings more applicable to everyday life. Overall, experiential learning should be understood not merely as a methodological innovation in PAI but as a transformative strategy for Islamic education to adapt effectively to the challenges of globalization and modernity.‎

Abstract

This paper highlights cultural issues arising from oil palm plantations and efforts to preserve customs amid global change. The purpose of this study is to examine complex issues and efforts to preserve customs in the context of oil palm plantations in Agam Regency. The method used is critical ethnography to uncover cultural practices that can shape and perpetuate injustice, as well as how dominant groups maintain their power (quasi-customary). The land ownership system is based on Babingkah Tanah (Entity Ownership). Therefore, only Basa Nan Barampek and Penghulu Nan Batujah have authority over customary land. However, not all Ninik Mamak were involved in the transfer of customary land to PT AMP Plantation. Thus, the land transfer was carried out with customary and political elements to control the land by PT AMP Plantation and to approach only the dominant Ninik Mamak.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of film-based audiovisual media in enhancing nationalism values among eleventh-grade students at SMA Bina Guna Tanah Jawa in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was driven by concerns over declining nationalism among younger generations due to globalization and cultural shifts. A quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed, involving 80 purposively selected students. Data were collected through a 20-item Likert scale questionnaire based on four indicators of nationalism from the Ministry of Education and Culture: love for the homeland, pride in national identity, appreciation of cultural diversity, and commitment to unity. Results showed an increase in mean nationalism scores from 71.20 in the pretest to 78.10 in the first posttest, and 82.65 in the second posttest. The greatest improvement was in pride in national identity (+4.1 points), while the lowest was in commitment to unity (+1.7 points). A paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference before and after treatment. These findings confirm the effectiveness of film-based audiovisual media in fostering nationalism, with further emphasis required on unity and diversity.‎

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of environmental ethics in Islam, focusing on the study of hadiths that discuss the prohibition or regulations regarding killing insects. The main objective of the research is to understand Islamic ethical values related to the protection of small living creatures as part of the environment, as well as their implications for human behavior in maintaining ecological balance. The research method used is a library study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected from primary sources, namely hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) concerning the killing of insects and small living beings, as well as secondary sources including fiqh literature, tafsir, and books on environmental ethics in Islam. The analysis was conducted using descriptive critical techniques to interpret the meaning of the hadiths and their relevance in the context of modern environmental ethics. The results indicate that Islam upholds principles of maintaining the balance of nature and the rights of all living creatures, including insects. The hadiths that regulate the prohibition of killing insects without valid reasons emphasize the values of tolerance and respect for all creatures created by Allah. The Islamic concept of environmental ethics encourages environmentally friendly attitudes and the preservation of living beings as part of the human responsibility on earth. In conclusion, environmental ethics in Islam teaches the importance of protecting all living beings regardless of their size, including insects. This hadith-based study provides a strong moral foundation for fostering ecological awareness and human responsibility in conserving the environment.
