Abstract

Scholars of hadith have mentioned that da'if (weak) hadiths can be used for Fadail Al-A'mal (virtuous actions), but it is uncertain which type of da'if hadith can be used as evidence. Although previous researchers have conducted numerous studies on this topic, this paper aims to discuss the validity of using da'if hadiths as evidence for Fadail al-a'mal by examining the types, conditions, and replacement hadiths of da'if narrations. The conclusions presented in this paper are based on the opinions of hadith scholars, taking into account both the advantages and disadvantages. The researcher employs an analytical study method, focusing on the da'if hadiths compiled in the book "Targhib wa At-Tarhib" in the chapter on Thaharah (purification). The findings of this study indicate that Syadid al-da'ifi refers to a category of hadith that cannot be rectified. Within the Thaharah chapter of the Kitab At-Targhib and At-Tarhib, there are 118 hadiths categorized as follows: 43 authentic hadiths, 16 hasan (good) traditions, 7 da'if traditions, and 52 traditions for which al-Hafizh al-Mundhiri (the author of the book) does not mention their authenticity. Researchers have attempted to identify da'if hadith substitutes to remove the prohibition on using da'if hadiths as evidence for Fadail Al-A'mal. Consequently, out of the seven hadiths, five da'if hadiths can be replaced. The first, third, fourth, and sixth hadiths, however, do not require replacement as they are not weak.

This article aims to trace the validity and quality of the hadith in Sayyid Utsman al-Batawi's work entitled "Islah al-Hal bi Thalab al-Halal", a book that discusses virtues and prohibition of people lawfully seeking sustenance with hadiths of the Prophet as its validation. The method used in this article is the Takhrij method by al-'Iraqi in his work "al-Mughni". The method involves citing hadith text, mentioning narrators from the Prophet's sahabah, and concisely listing the sources and qualities of hadith. The results are from 29 hadiths validating seeking halal sustenance in this book 19 hadiths have sahih quality, five hadiths have dha'if qualities, 17 hadiths have hasan quality, and two hadiths have not been judged due to lack of data and sources. On the other hand, the sources of hadith in this book are from Kutubuttis'ah and primary hadith books such as Mu'jam al-Thabrani and al-Mustadrak. Nevertheless, Sayyid Uthman did not appear to refer to these sources directly, but he quoted them from secondary references such as Ihya 'Ulumiddin by Imam al-Ghazali.

Abstract

This article examines the contributions of Syarif Hatim Al-'Auni in the study of hadith in the contemporary era. One of al-'Auni's contributions is the rationalization of classical hadith criticism. According to al-'Auni, classical hadith criticism works within a rational-universal framework. This has an impact on the acceptance of the classical hadith critique method as a scientific method. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive-analytical approach. The main source of research is the book al-Usus al-'Aqliyyah Li'Ilm Naqd al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah. In this context, al-'Auni agrees with Nabia Abbot, Mustafa Azami and Harald Motzki in terms of the reliability of classical hadith criticism methods. On the other hand, Al-'Auni is at odds with scholars who are skeptical of classical hadith criticism methods such as Ignaz Goldziher and Joseph Scacht.

Abstract

Hadith for Muslims has a very important position, because it reveals various traditions that developed at the time of the Prophet Muhammad which were full of various Islamic teachings. Understanding hadith is very important because hadith is the legal basis after the Qur'an, so its validity must be ensured, it is important to study the science of hadith or the blasphemy of a hadith, especially in this case the blasphemy of dhaif hadith, because hadith is the second source of law used by Muslims in determining or deciding a law. As intellectuals, we should show progress in the field of science, especially in the field of religion so that we don't make mistakes in implementing it in life. The purpose of this study is to explain the blasphemy of dhaif hadiths among muhaddisin scholars. The research method used is library research with data collection techniques through good documentation from books, journals, articles and other sources that discuss the blasphemy of dhaif hadiths. The findings of the research show that, in general, the scholars reject it as evidence and the scholars also agree to prohibit the narration of dhaif hadiths that are maudhu' without mentioning their willingness. But if the dhaif hadith is not a maudhu hadith, then there is still a dispute about whether or not it is permissible to narrate it for hujjah
