Abstract

There have been many ways offered as professional development (PD) for language teachers as well as conferences discussing its trends and alternatives. However, the world is facing CoVid19 pandemic that changes the context and media of English language teaching and learning in primary classrooms at present. Therefore, there is a need for novice teachers to be equipped by ways and opportunities in professional development that suit with the existing context and available media to apply PD. A preliminary cross-sectional survey was done in late July 2020 to get feedback on the ways primary English teachers of two private schools in West Jakarta did professional development. Possible solutions and opportunities are offered to assist them having a sustainable and meaningful professional development in the future during home-based learning (HBL) due to CoVid19 pandemic.The conclusion of the research is the primary English teachers have done various PD ways and need internal and external support from the school and local government mainly in the infrastructure, in order to provide the best possibility of the new learning experience with the students in the online classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out the level of validity of guided inquiry-based worksheets to empower students' environmental literacy, (2) to know the readability of guided inquiry-based worksheets to empower students' environmental literacy, (3) find out guided inquiry-based worksheets can empower environmental literacy skills in guided inquiry-based worksheets to empower students' environmental literacy. This is a Research and Development (R&D) research. The model used is the Borg & Gall model. The subjects of the study were fifth grade students of SDN Babadan 5, Ngajum Subdistrict, Malang Regency in 2019/2020 learning year, which consisted of 20 students. In this study the main material used is on the water cycle science subjects. The instruments used included test questions, lesson plans, teacher and student action questionnaires, student responses, RPP validations, worksheet validations, test question validations, and assessment of motor activities on students. The data generated in the form of validation of LKS products, test questions, and lesson plans, the results of the pretest and posttest, student responses, self-assessment and peer assessment, and assessment of student motor activities. Based on the results of the study show that: (1) the quality of the guided inquiry-based worksheets to empower students' environmental literacy can be viewed from the overall feasibility aspects both good and very suitable for use in learning, (2) the practicality of worksheets can be seen from the questionnaire responses of students who get the number a score of 376 with an average of 18.8 with a percentage of 94% categorized as "very good" in the use of teaching materials LKS, (3) the category of environmental literacy skills assessment in the development of this worksheet also showed very good results seen from the results of self assessment assessment that has been done by researchers shows a percentage of 93%, while peer assessment shows a percentage of 92% with a very good category

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find a Assessment Book based Science Literacy with the specific aim of knowing the validity of it. This research was conducted at the PGRI Ronggolawe University Tuban (UNIROW) for students of PGSD UNIROW class 2019. The research period was started from April to August 2020. The research design used in this study was the Dick and Carey development model. This research design is used because it is more specific in its development. In the early stages of the research, research was carried out, namely the research stage or literature study to obtain information about the product needs to be developed. The development stages consist of seven stages, they were (1) needs analysis, (2) analysis of the form of BuPena BeRiSi, (3) analysis of the material with the skills to be achieved, (4) formulating goals for achieving skills, (5) developing BuPena BeRiSi , (6) BuPena BeRiSi validation, (7) BuPena BeRiSi revision. BuPena BeRiSi products have not been tested extensively because they have been hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic. The validation results show that the assessment of the content and language suitability components gets good criteria. The graphic components and the conformity of the technical requirements obtain excellent criteria. The component that got the highest percentage score was the graphic component with a score percentage of 91.67%. The suitability component of the technical requirements obtained a score of 90.63% with excellent criteria. The content and language suitability components obtained a score of 75% in the good category.

Abstract

The purpose this research to improve the learning outcomes of class VB students of SD Negeri 51 Kendari through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the theme of events in life. Research procedures, using steps: (a) planning, (b) implementation of action, (c) observation and evaluation, (d) reflection. Types of data are qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observation sheets while qualitative data were obtained through learning outcomes tests. The results showed that students who achieved learning completeness in the first cycle were 18 people with a percentage of 64.2% while the number of students who did not complete was 10 people with a percentage of 35.7%. The average student learning outcomes in cycle I was 71 while in cycle II student learning outcomes increased, consisting of 24 students who got a complete score with a percentage of completeness of 85.7%, while the number of students who did not complete was 4 people with a percentage of 14.2%. The average value of student learning outcomes in cycle II is 77

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SQ3R method on the ability to read comprehension grade IV students at Karanglo Primary School. The type of this research is True Experimental design with the research design used is Pretest- Posttest Control Group Design. While the research procedure used is using a research model from expert Sugiyono. Research data collection techniques in the form of tests and questionnaires. The results showed that the ability to read comprehension with the SQ3R method was higher than the ability to read comprehension with discussion methods for grade IV students in Karanglo Primary School. This was evidenced from the results of the questionnaire t-test with a significance level of 95% (0.05) obtained t arithmetic (2.575) > t table (2.037) and the results of t-test learning outcomes with a significance level of 95% (0.05) obtained t arithmetic (2.963) > t table (2.037). based on the t value, it can be concluded that the SQ3R method is more effective than the discussion method.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of thematic learning in SD N Kemasan 1, Polokarto. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The informants in this study were teachers and fifth grade students of SD N Kemasan 1 Polokarto. Data collection techniques used include observation and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the thematic learning process at SD N Kemasan 1 Polokarto includes 1) learner-centered. 2) provide direct experiences to students (direct experiences) 3) the separation between subjects is not so real and clear. 4) presents a concept from various subjects in a learning process 5) flexible or flexible. 6) learning outcomes are in accordance with students' interests and needs because students are given the opportunity to optimize their potential according to their wishes.

Abstract

The research objective is to provide alternative solutions in helping elementary school students to improve the basic calculation operations of addition through interactive learning using mathematic finger game. The research subjects were low grade elementary school students (grades 1, 2 and 3). This development research uses the Dick and Carey method with the stages of identifying goals, analyzing needs, identifying students' initial behavior, formulating goals, developing criteria reference tests, developing learning strategies, developing and selecting learning media, designing. Mathematic finger game is a combination of three finger games, namely Hompipah, Indonesian suit and Japanese suit which are used in determining the winner. The combination of these games is associated with the basic calculation operation of addition. The games are packaged into interactive learning with an open-ended approach by involving the ability to think creatively in answering problems according to directed thinking freedom and the ability to think critically in giving and receiving input on answers to problem solving that can be logically accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ memory during the Covid-19 pandemic through the application of the take and give learning model in the sub-theme national events during the colonial period of the fifth grade at SD N Donotirto Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this research is 9 students from a total of 24 fifth grade students at SD N Donotirto in the academic year of 2020/2021 which was allowed to participate in the research based on a letter from the principal of SD N Donotirto Number : 25/SD. DNT/Kshn/X/2020 due to anticipating the spread of the Covid-19 virus by minimizing the crowd of students. The object of this research is students’ memory. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, unstructured interviews and tests. The technique of quantitative descriptive data analysis was done by calculating the percentage and average score. The results of this research showed that in the initial condition, the students’ memory was obtained an average percentage of 26.7% with poor criteria and the results of observations of teaching activities with a percentage of 80% with good criteria. After taking action in cycle I, the improvement of students memory obtained an average result of 46.65% with sufficient criteria and the results of observations of teaching activities with an average percentage of 98% with very good criteria. This research was stopped until cycle II because it has achieved indicators of success with the average result of students’ memory as much as 81.1% with very good criteria and the results of observations of teaching activities with an average result of 100% with very good criteria. Thus it can be concluded that the use of the take and give learning model can improve students memory.

Abstract

Interactive multimedia-based learning media using Adobe Flash can be an alternative media choice, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic to create effective learning. This study aims to analyze how the application of Adobe Flash-based digital learning media in elementary schools and the impact of using Adobe Flash-based learning media. The method used in this study is a literature review from previous research related to Adobe Flash-based Interactive digital learning media. As a result, previous researchers found (1) interactive learning media assisted by Macromedia Flash that was developed suitable for use in understanding story text information (2) higher student learning motivation by using learning models using Macromedia Flash (3) improving student learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract; The problem in this study is the teacher's lack of understanding of the professional competence of teachers, namely broad and deep mastery of the material, as well as the effective use of media and learning facilities. This research is a quantitative research with a correlation design that aims to describe the professional competence of teachers with learning outcomes in science for class V Cluster II students. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between teacher professional competence and science learning outcomes in elementary school cluster II with a greater t_count (4.050) value (>) t_value (table )(1.68830) at a significance level of 5%. Thus H0 is rejected H1 is accepted. Based on the results of the data analysis above, it can be concluded that professional competence will have an impact on students' science learning outcomes. So the better the professional competence of the teacher, the better the student learning outcomes. From these conclusions, the impact resulting from this study is known that good professional competence will improve student learning outcomes.
