Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic over the past year has made the Indonesian government make several policies, such as several activities, to increase the increase in positive cases, including social distancing and PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions). One of the impacts of these policies is an increase in the number of jobs produced by many job providers who reduce the number of employees. In this activity, we choosed herbal products, because they are abundant, easy to access, and low in price, thus it could be used as business opportunities. The herbal product is then optimized in a way that is developed into other products such as herbal latte and herbal boba, this is done so that the market segmentation for herbal products is wider and can be used as an idea for entrepreneurship. In addition, it can also educate the health benefits of herbal medicine. This community service partner is a resident of Perum Graha Mitra Asri RT.11/RW.01, Sambikerep Village, Sambikerep District, Surabaya. The activity method used is starting from coordination and preparation with potential partners, counseling, and manufacturing products training.

Abstract

Banyumulek Village, Kediri, West Lombok, is a famous pottery producer and visited by many tourists. However, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in fewer tourists visiting Lombok, thus affecting the sales of pottery produced by Banyumulek Village. Based on this background, this service activity aims to support the promotion of pottery produced by Banyumulek Village residents through digital marketing communication training. The method of implementing this activity is to socialize the importance of using digital media as an online marketing tool during the pandemic and teach participants how to create creative content and attract public attention by utilizing social media to promote Banyumulek Village pottery products. From the results of the activity, it is known that the majority of participants (88.23%) have used social media as promotional media, of which 38.89% used Facebook, 33.33% used WhatsApp, and 27.78% used Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp as social media in promoting pottery products. However, the less attractive message design makes the results will be not optimal. To that end, the service team shared knowledge and hands-on practice regarding the preparation of instant messages and shooting techniques to obtain materials or digital promotional content for Bayumulek Village pottery products on the participants' social media.

Abstract

The emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes in human life. Pemecutan Kelod Village as one of the villages with a fairly high rate of Covid-19 spread in Denpasar requires immediate action to flatten the curve of confirmed Covid-19 cases. Community service activities, through education to teenagers related to the Implementation of a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) for teenagers were chosen as one of the strategic steps. With the education provided, it is hoped that they can 1) make teenagers aware of the importance of PHBS; 2) assisting teenagers to become agents of reform to help suppress the spread of Covid-19. By utilizing the e-learning method assisted by media zoom, education is carried out for teenagers. The presentation of educational materials focused on two main materials. The first material is related to PHBS and its application in daily life. The second material given is about basic actions that teenagers can take when they suspect people in their surrounding environment have Covid-19 symptoms. The final result of this service activity; 1) Pemecutan Kelod Village youth have knowledge about PHBS and its important role in preventing the expansion of Covid-19. 2) Pemecutan Kelod Village youths have knowledge of basic actions when finding a suspected case of Covid-19.

Abstract

This article describes the process and results of Community Service (PKM) activities carried out by the Bandung State Polytechnic in partnership with the Mekarsari Gambung Tourism Village, Bandung Regency manager. The PKM activity was carried out to solve governance problems and human resource problems faced by the Mekarsari Gambung Tourism Village. The Governance Plan document is prepared to serve as a guide for local tourism managers to increase the potential of tourist attractions and the competence of human resources in tourist villages. Furthermore, technical guidance (Bimtek) for the development of tourist attraction businesses is carried out to increase the capacity of the expertise and knowledge of the Mekarsari Gambung Tourism Village managers and the surrounding community so that they can be applied in efforts to develop the potential of tourism villages.

Abstract

Building Engineering Education Study Program is part of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Palangka Raya University which has facilities and infrastructure to support teaching and learning activities. There are several problems faced by partners, especially clean water installations. The clean water installation consists of a toren (water reservoir) and a pipe network. The water pressure that comes out through the faucet is relatively small. This problem is very important to be resolved because the availability and smooth running of water is an absolute necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic. To prevent and break the chain of the spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to apply health protocols properly, one way is to wash hands frequently, which of course requires the availability of water. The solution offered to overcome this problem is to add an air pipe (ventilation). The addition of an air pipe can increase the flow of water. The increase in water discharge at point 1 is 25.93%, at point 2 is 1.98%.

Abstract

Mathematics Olympiad is one of the routine activities followed by school level, especially elementary school. One of the elementary schools that regularly participates in the Olympic competition is SDN Madyopuro 4 Malang. Based on the results of interviews with teachers, information was obtained that at SDN Madyopuro 4, the Olympic guidance activities were still not optimal. In addition, there is also no Hand Out provided specifically for Olympic activities. This is what makes the service team to provide training and assistance to teachers at the elementary school. The implementation method of this activity consists of five stages of activities, namely preparation, socialization, mentoring, implementation and evaluation. The result of this service activity was that preparations were carried out with the Olympic team running smoothly, then the socialization was carried out by a team together with elementary school teachers which was originally scheduled to be face-to-face but was replaced online due to the covid-19 pandemic. Overall, the assistance activities for the preparation of hand outs went well and smoothly. The use of Hand Out for students during face-to-face meetings both offline and online also helps the implementation of Olympic mentoring activities. Suggestions for the next activity is to collaborate with appropriate learning strategies, models and approaches so that they can produce maximum results.

Abstract

Bintang-Bintang Kindergarten is one of the kindergartens located in Argomulyo Village, Sedayu District, Bantul Regency, D.I Yogyakarta. The existence of the COVID-19 Pandemic, forcing all residents of the Bintang-Bintang Kindergarten school to try to prevent COVID-19 infection. Consumption of vitamin C is considered capable of being one way to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The aim of this service is to conduct training on the simple method of vitamin C detection. This method is sufficient to provide accurate inspection results. It only takes ingredients that are widely available at home. Materials needed such as starch (can be replaced with cornstarch) and iodine (can be replaced with wound medicine such as betadine). Partner's problems are lack of adequate knowledge related to Vitamin C, partner's skills about detecting Vitamin C quickly inadequate, knowledge in distinguishing high and low levels of vitamin C in a food or beverage still needs to be improved, does not yet have adequate facilities for promotion food health related to Vitamin C, for example posters and vitamin C education modules. The solutions offered are education related to vitamin C materials and providing training on Vitamin C detection in a quick and easy method. Outcomes of service are training modules, activity videos, and an increase in knowledge of as many as school partners in vitamin C detection 40.37% as well as increased skills in vitamin C detection.

Abstract

The development of community-based tourism is an alternative approach to improving the welfare of a community. Based on this concept, community service activities are carried out to strengthen tourism management competencies for the community in the Sawarna Beach Area. The activities are carried out using off-site and on-site concepts through the application of training modules and workshops on the preparation of an electronic catalog. Pokdarwis Tanjung Layar as a partner for community service activities shows full support in the form of participating in all series of activities and providing input on packaging thematic tour packages. The results of this activity are in the form of 5 (five) electronic catalogs regarding the theme of tourism products in the Sawarna Beach Tourism Area, namely adventure, culture, nature, fishing and geoparks. This community service activity is expected to be followed up by tourism actors in the Sawarna Beach Tourism Area in order to sharpen and expand the benefits of the activities that have been carried out.

Abstract

SMK Nurul Islam is a vocational high school located in Larangan sub-district, Brebes district, which was founded by the Nurul Islam Slatri educational foundation. Based on the results of an initial survey conducted at partners, that students, teachers, and employees (+- 80%) have heard of the industrial revolution 4.0, but only 30% have heard of Artificial Intelligence. And from the survey, it was found that only 2% have understood and understood Artificial Intelligence technology, which has been applied in almost all sectors of life. The survey results also show that all teachers, employees, and students are familiar with the use of information technology, such as: laptops, smartphones, and the internet. However, the current trend of information technology development is that many do not understand, especially regarding the application of the concept of Artificial Intelligence technology, such as: Face Recognition, Speech Recognition, Expert System, Chatboot, Image Detection, and others. Therefore, community service activities were carried out with the theme Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Technology. The methods of presentation, dialogue and demonstration are carried out in the implementation of these community service activities. Based on community service activities and the comparison between the results of the pre-test and post-test, it is obtained that the knowledge and understanding of partners, namely: students and teachers of SMK Nurul Islam Prohibition on Artificial Intelligence is increasing.

Abstract

Handling household waste requires serious attention from various parties to protect the environmental ecosystem from being damaged. Community service provides benefits for the active role of the community in handling household waste with the target of community participation at the level of understanding the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior in handling waste. Community service methods by conducting lectures, socialization, counseling, and waste management; demonstration of organic and inorganic waste containers; simulation videos; physical activity in the form of community service; non-physical activities in the form of socialization and distribution of leaflets; assistance to residents on waste management; evaluation of activities, and sustainability of activities. Presentation of devotion in a descriptive and narrative manner. The results of the activity show that the participation of community members in RT 026 RW 006 Oebufu Village, Oebobo Kupang District in controlling household waste with a system for handling used materials, waste or household waste materials showed in activities community service, the desire to get information and willing to be invited in the evaluation and assistance of waste management. The percentage of waste management knowledge before the intervention reached 81%, namely in the good category, after the intervention, the knowledge of the residents increased to 94%. Attitudes about waste management before the intervention reached 77%, namely in the good category, after the intervention increased to 89%. Behavior regarding waste management before the intervention reached 51%, namely in the good category, after the intervention increased to 58%.
