Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic over the past year has made the Indonesian government make several policies, such as several activities, to increase the increase in positive cases, including social distancing and PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions). One of the impacts of these policies is an increase in the number of jobs produced by many job providers who reduce the number of employees. In this activity, we choosed herbal products, because they are abundant, easy to access, and low in price, thus it could be used as business opportunities. The herbal product is then optimized in a way that is developed into other products such as herbal latte and herbal boba, this is done so that the market segmentation for herbal products is wider and can be used as an idea for entrepreneurship. In addition, it can also educate the health benefits of herbal medicine. This community service partner is a resident of Perum Graha Mitra Asri RT.11/RW.01, Sambikerep Village, Sambikerep District, Surabaya. The activity method used is starting from coordination and preparation with potential partners, counseling, and manufacturing products training.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengaplikasikan Streptomyces sp. sebagai agen hayati pengendali lalat buah dan Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria (PGPB) pada tanaman tomat dan cabai. Streptomyces sp. yang digunakan berasal dari hasil eksplorasi dari rhizosfer lahan tomat yang terkontaminasi pestisida di Kecamatan Pare dan hutan lindung Merubetiri. Percobaan disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu isolat asal lahan tomat yang terkontaminasi pestisida (TP), isolat hutan lindung Merubetiri 1 (Mrb1) dan isolat hutan lindung Merubetiri 2 (Mrb2), sedangkan faktor kedua adalah seri pengenceran yaitu seri pengenceran 103, 104, 105.Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua isolat Streptomyces sp. yang digunakan sebagai agen hayati dapat mengendalikan lalat buah Bactrocera sp. dan berpotensi sebagai PGPB untuk tanaman tomat dan cabai. Rata-rata pertumbuhan tanaman tomat dan cabai tertinggi dengan perlakuan Streptomyces sp. dari lahan tomat Pare (TP) dengan seri pengenceran 103. Jumlah bunga yang terbanyak terdapat pada tanaman tomat dengan pengaplikasian TP dengan seri pengenceran 105 dan Mrb dengan seri pengenceran 103

Abstract

Refugia is a microhabitat for natural enemies (predators and parasitoid) to breed that is planted around cultivated plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the existence of refugia on the abundance of natural enemies in the fields. The method used is the survey method. Observation of natural enemy populations is carried out visually and directly observed. The trap tool used is pitfall and sweep net. The results of the observation showed that 2 families of insects were Branconidae which acted as parasitoid and Collembola which acted as decomposers.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain endophytic bacterial candidates from lowland agricultural plants that have potential as biological control agents for Ralstonia solanacearum on tomato plants. Bioassay was carried out using the soaking method of tomato seeds in the suspension of endophytic bacteria (108 cfu / ml) during 60 minutes then R. solanacearum was 24 hours old (108 cfu / ml) mixed with 6 ml of liquid agar 0.6% and poured onto the seed surface. Bioassays were observed at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The study was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 10 endophytic bacterial isolates as single treatment factor and repeated 3 times. Abstract

Budidaya tanaman padi merupakan salah satu pekerjaan utama bagi masyarakat di Desa Kuluran, Kalitengah, Lamongan. Petani di Desa Kuluran dalam melakukan usaha pertaniannya sering berhadapan dengan adanya serangan hama yang menjadi faktor pembatas dalam meningkatkan produksi padi. Petani mengaplikasikan pestisida kimia sebagai tindakan pencegahan dan pengendalian hama yang menyerang tanaman padi. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada petani tentang bahaya pengaplikasian pestisida terus menerus dan memberikan solusinya berupa cara pemanfaatan tanaman refugia sebagai mikrohabitat musuh alami di ekosistem sawah. Program pengabdian terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu sosialisasi dan penyuluhan; 1) sosialisasi dan penyuluhan; 2) pendampingan penanaman tanaman refugia; 3) pengamatan kelimpahan musuh alami; dan 4) evaluasi kegiatan pengabdian. Kegiatan penanaman tanaman refugia dilakukan secara demonstration plotting di lahan salah satu peserta. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah kesadaran petani akan bahaya pengaplikasian pestisida kimia secara terus menerus dan meningkatnya pemahaman petani tentang pemanfaatan tanaman refugia di sawah. Hasil pengamatan yang telah dilakukan didapatkan 2 jenis serangga yaitu Collembola dan Branconidae yang berada di sekitar tanaman refugia. Tim pengabdian masyarakat telah menyusun modul dan melakukan koordinasi dengan ketua gabungan kelompok tani untuk mendukung keberlanjutan program. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa proses kegiatan telah berjalan baik dan petani akan menanam tanaman refugia di lahannya masing-masing pada musim tanam mendatang.

Abstract

Covid-19 has been declared as pandemic and has spread in 216 countries around the world. WHO’s distribution data obtained on May 31, 2020 that there were 5,891,182 positive cases of Covid-19 in the world with 365,966 deaths. The condition in Indonesia is classified as serious as well, which 25,773 positive cases with 1,573 deaths. Covid-19 has the potential to attack humans with poor immunity, so that a healthy lifestyle plays a role in increasing endurance, such as eating healthy food like probiotics. One of the media that can be used to grow probiotics is pinneapple peel. The community service partner was PKK RT. 06/RW.03 Rungkut Barata residents, the majority of whom are middle aged and elderly. This age is classified as vulnerable to being exposed to Covid-19, so in this acrivity we plan to carry out activity related to probiotics by utillizing pineapple skin waste. Futhermore, the location of the partners is strategic because near the market and sorrounded by several pineapple sellers. The method activity was preparation and coordination with the partner, then continues with conselling and training on making probiotic product. The output was probiotic product, training moduls and documentation.

Abstract

The volume of waste or residual materials arising from human fulfillment increases annually in line with the growth of the human population. The potential of household units to manage organic waste has the potential to minimize food waste and other forms of organic waste. Utilizing organic waste as a raw material for composting is an option for handling organic waste from households. This community service project aims to demonstrate to the community how to make liquid organic fertilizer and raise public awareness of the advantages of managing household waste. Training combined with direct demonstrations via interactive learning covering household waste sorting and composting techniques was performed. This event was attended by 25 community household representatives from Panjunan Village, Sukodono, Sidoarjo. The demonstration method that was used was thought to be effective because the community was interested and came up with new ways to use empty land as a follow-up after creating liquid organic fertilizer on its own

Abstract

The utilization of refuge plants as microhabitats for natural enemies has been explored as a sustainable approach to pest control in mango cultivation. This community service project aimed to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of implementing refuge plants for pest management in the Sukodadi Farmer Group, Pasuruan Regency. The background highlighted the challenges faced by mango farmers, including pest infestations and the negative impacts of chemical pesticides on the environment and human health. The methodology involved socialization and demonstrating the use of refugees around mango fields. The participation and enthusiasm of the farmers were remarkable, as they gained valuable knowledge and confidence in implementing environmentally friendly pest and disease management practices. The farmers observed a reduction in pest populations and improved crop health. The active involvement of the farmers in the project increased their understanding of sustainable pest management practices and enhanced their confidence in implementing these methods. This community service project contributes to the knowledge and implementation of integrated pest management strategies in mango cultivation. The findings emphasize the significance of utilizing refuge plants as microhabitats for natural enemies to enhance pest control and promote the sustainability of mango production. The outcomes serve as a valuable resource for farmers, extension workers, and policymakers involved in agricultural practices in Sukodadi and similar regions

Abstract

Bakteri patogen Ralstonia solanacearum dapat menurunkan produktivitas tanaman cabai. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kombinasi isolat Pseudomonas fluorescent Pf-142 dan jamur mikoriza arbuskula terhadap R.solanacearumsecara in vivo. Penelitian ini menggunakan percobaan RAK dua faktorial, faktor pertama adalah kombinasi Pseudomonas fluorescent Pf-142 dengan pupuk hayati mikoriza yang terdiri dari P1 = 10 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 0 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza), P2 (7,5 ml suspensi bakteri Pf -142 + 2,5 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza), P3 (5 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 5 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza), P4 (2,5 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 7,5 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza), dan P5 (0 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 10 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza). Faktor kedua adalah waktu aplikasi yang terdiri dari T1 (7 hari sebelum tanam), T2 (saat tanam). Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa perlakuan 5 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 5 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza yang diaplikasikan 7 hari sebelum tanam mampu menunda gejala penyakit lay bakteri hingga 11,5 hari, perlakuan 10 ml bakteri suspensi Pf-142 + 0 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza yang diaplikasikan saat tanam memiliki keparahan penyakit sebesar 16%, dan perlakuan 0 ml suspensi bakteri Pf-142 + 10 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza yang diaplikasikan saat tanam memiliki proporsi akar terkolonisasi mikoriza sebesar 77,59%. Dengan demikian perlakuan 5 ml bakteri suspensi Pf-142 + 5 gr pupuk hayati mikoriza yang diaplikasikan 7 hari sebelum tanam adalah perlakuan yang terbaik.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman adalah ukuran integrasi komunitas biologi dengan menghitung dan mempertimbangkan jumlah populasi yang membentuknya dengan kelimpahan relatifnya. Musuh alami merupakan salah satu penyusun komunitas untuk mengendalikan hama. Serangga yang tergolong musuh alami yaitu predator dan parasitoid. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman serangga musuh alami di area pertanaman sayuran organik yang ditanam secara polikultur dan dikelilingi oleh tanaman refugia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu purposive sampling dengan menggunakan alat perangkap yaitu yellow sticky trap (perangkap kuning), sweep net (jaring), pitfall trap (perangkap jatuh) dan pengamatan secara visual. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Brenjonk Kecamatan Trawas Jawa Timur di pertanaman sayuran organik yang ditanam secara polikultur. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H’) pada lahan sayuran organik sebesar 2.53. Hasil analisis perhitungan nilai indeks dominansi simpson (C) lahan sayuran organik menunjukkan nilai 0.10. Hasil indeks kemerataan jenis (E) analisis perhitungannya adalah 0.91. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu indeks keanekaragaman jenis (E’) kategori sedang, indeks dominansi simpson (C) kategori rendah dan indeks kemerataan jenis (E) kategori kemerataan tinggi.
