Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the frequency of vitamin E application on the reproductive performance of postpartum FH crossbreed cows, which Include Post Partus Estrous (first estrus after calving) and Post Partus Mating (first mating after calving). The study used treatment giving vitamin E to cows after calving with treatment 0 (P0)/control, treatment 1 (P1) was injected on the 7th and 14th days after calving and treatment 2 (P2) was injected on the 7th day, the 14th day after calving and 17th day after calving. Post Partus Estrous (PPE) and Post Partus Mating (PPM) were the treatment variables observed. Giving vitamin E on the 7th, 14th, and 17th days after calving (P2) showed a very significant effect (P<0.01) on Post Partum Estrous (PPE). The results of ANOVA analysis of treatment 2 (P2) days 7, 14, and 17 after calving showed a very significant effect (P<0.01) on Post Partus Mating (PPM). This study shows that the P2 treatment with vitamin E injection on days 7, 14, and 17 after calving obtained the best reproductive performance by producing the shortest Post-Partus Estrus (PPE) of 51 days and the shortest Post-Partus Mating (PPM) of 71.83 days.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of corn farmers' participation in agricultural extension programs and the factors influencing it in the Porehu District. Employing a survey method with a descriptive analysis approach and a quantitative paradigm, the study involved 112 corn farmers as respondents. The results indicate that internal factors such as age, education, farming experience, income, and family dependents significantly impact farmers' participation in extension activities. Additionally, external factors including farmers' motivation, perception of extension, support for infrastructure, support from extension agents, and social environment support also significantly affect farmers' participation. These findings highlight the need to develop more effective and inclusive extension strategies and strengthen collaboration among the government, agricultural extension agents, farmer organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. Such efforts are expected to enhance farmer participation and the success of agricultural extension programs, ultimately positively impacting agricultural productivity and farmers' well-being.

Abstract

Suwawa Selatan is one of the areas vulnerable to climate change, this condition is caused by unsustainable agricultural practices such as land clearing on slopes and burning agricultural waste. This study aims to identify the level of knowledge and implementation of sustainable agriculture that is relevant to the needs of farmers and prioritize extension materials needed by farmers. The method used in this study is a quantitative method that uses BNA analysis techniques and independent T-test statistical tests. The results showed that maize farmers had a lower knowledge level than chili farmers regarding sustainable agriculture components. Meanwhile, chili farmers in Suwawa Selatan needed more materials to increase the use of organic fertilizers and reducing excessive soil plowing (priority), while the priority extension materials for corn farmers in Suwawa Selatan sub-district were reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and reducing the use of chemical herbicides (priority).

Abstract

The sampling method for carrying out this research used the census method, by taking all members of the population as samples from the number of durian breeding farmers (2 people).\                The total cost for the grafted durian seedling business in Sebelimbingan Village is IDR. 56,130,653.81 with an average of Rp. 28,065,326.91//farmers. The production produced by the durian breeding business in Sebelimbingan Village was 24,800 stems with an average of 12,400 per farmer. The revenue obtained was IDR. 421,600,000.00 with an average of Rp. 210,800,000.00/farmer. The average profit obtained is IDR. 172,252,892.50//farmers.

Abstract

The abundance of livestock and agricultural waste needs special attention, especially in its processing. One of the largest wastes generated from the livestock sub-sector is beef cattle feces; in the agricultural sub-sector, empty fruit bunches are produced (EFB). In this study, beef cattle feces and empty fruit bunches were decomposed for 14 days to degrade organic matter into raw materials for second-generation bioethanol. This study aimed to identify bacteria and molds that play a role in the decomposition of beef cattle feces and EFB. The research conducted used a qualitative-descriptive method. This study identified microorganisms in the biological pre-treatment process on days 1st, 7th, and 14th. The identification of bacteria and molds was done macroscopically and microscopically. The genus of bacteria found in biological pre-treatment is Bacillus. There are 3 genera of molds found in biological pre-treatment including Aspergillus, Trichoderma, and Mucor. These genera have cellulotic and lignolytic potential in fiber degradation in biological pre-treatment.

Abstract

Tanaman jagung merupakan komoditas utama di lahan kering di Kabupaten Malang bagian Selatan. Namun demikian produksi jagung masih rendah karena kondisi tanah yang kurang subur akibat rendahnya kandungan bahan organik. Permasalahan kesuburan tanah di lahan kering dapat diatasi dengan penambahan bahan organik ke dalam tanah. Salah satu bahan organik yang dapat digunakan untuk perbaikan kesuburan tanah adalah asam humat yang merupakan produk turunan dari bahan organik. Selain asam humat, bahan organik kualitas tinggi yang terbukti dapat mengatasi permasalahan kesuburan tanah adalah biochar. Tujuan penelitian untuk mempelajari pengaruh asam humat berbagai level dan biochar terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung hitam di lahan kering. Penelitian di rumah kaca Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Tribhuwana Tunggadewi, Malang.  Perlakuan yang diuji coba adalah kombinasi dosis asam humat (0; 2,5; 5; dan 7,5 mL/ha) dan biochar (0 dan 15 t/ha).  Setiap kombinasi perlakuan diaplikasi ke 10 kg tanah dalam polybag untuk pertumbuhan tanaman jagung hitam. Delapan perlakuan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 ulangan. Semua perlakuan diberi pupuk dasar berupa pupuk NPK mutiara.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis 7,5 mL asam humat/ha dan biochar merupakan perlakuan terbaik untuk meningkatkan diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol, dan bobot jagung tanpa klobot di lahan kering.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of various types of organic fertilizer on the vegetative growth of dragon fruit. The research used an experiment using the Completely Randomized Design  method with four treatments A1 = Goat Manure, A2 = Cow Manure, A3 = Guano Fertilizer, A4 = Chicken Manure with four replications. The results of the research showed that the application of various kinds of organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on plant height and a significant effect on the number of branches of dragon fruit plants.  Providing organic fertilizer, namely guano fertilizer and chicken manure, can provide higher plant height and a greater number of branches. It is thought that the high content of macro nutrients N, P and K can increase the vegetative growth of dragon fruit plants

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the effect of soaking time for natural growth regulators in coconut water on the success of grafting (compatibility) in durian grafting techniques and how long the soaking time for buds is best for successful durian grafting. This research used an experimental method: a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment tried was soaking time in coconut water with a concentration of 100%, for 0 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes. The research results showed that the length of soaking of durian shoots in coconut water as a naturally growing substance had no significant effect on both the success of grafting and the rupture of shoots in Durian plant grafting. The percentage of grafting success for each treatment ranged from 20% - 40%.  Long ago the buds broke.  The average length (days) of bud break between treatments ranged from 35 days to 48.5 days after attachment of the bud.

Abstract

Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) on the Leptin gene may alter the quality and quantity of Leptin hormone, which plays an active role in energy metabolism and it can contribute to fat deposition in mammals. This study proposed to determine the effect of SNPs R25C and R25H on Cholesterol, and Triglycerides levels in the blood of Ongole Crossbreed cattle. The research was carried out experimentally with a Completely Randomized Design using the sixteen heads of Ongole Crossbreed. There were three different genotypes based on SNPs R25C and R25H: CC, TT, and  AA. The cattle were reared intensively for two months. The feed consists of corn kernels and concentrates, and It is calculated based on the Dry Matter (DM) intake, which is 3% of body weight. The result showed SNPs R25C and R25H on the Leptin gene did not have a significant effect on blood Cholesterol, and Triglyceride levels of Ongole Crossbreed cattle. Those SNPs in the Leptin gene cannot be used as selection markers in Ongole Crossbreed cattle. Further research is needed to include SNPs in other genes contributing to Cholesterol and Triglycerides on blood cattle

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh ensilase Arachis pintoi, yang merupakan salah satu legume cover crop, dengan campuran bahan pakan yang berbeda terhadap pH dan kualitas fisik silase (aroma, jamur, tekstur, dan warna) menggunakan penambahan starter Effective Microorganism (EM4) 2%. Tiga perlakuan utama yang digunakan adalah P1 (100% Arachis pintoi), P2 (50% Arachis pintoi + 50% tebon jagung), dan P3 (50% Arachis pintoi + 50% ampas tahu), masing-masing dengan tambahan EM4 sebagai akselerator fermentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P2 menghasilkan silase dengan kualitas fisik optimal berupa tekstur padat, tidak berlendir, dan bebas jamur dengan pH 4.57, serta aroma sedikit asam dan warna hijau kecoklatan. Perlakuan P3 memiliki pH sedikit lebih rendah (4.51) dengan tekstur padat tetapi sedikit berlendir. Berdasarkan kualitas fisik, P2 dianggap sebagai perlakuan terbaik untuk pembuatan silase Arachis pintoi.
