Abstract

In Indonesia, particularly in Denpasar City, Bali, mangrove forests play a crucial role in maintaining environmental and local economic sustainability. However, in recent years, mangrove forests in Bali, as well as throughout Indonesia, have faced significant pressure due to human activities such as urban development, sand mining, and climate change. The objective of this research is to identify the dominant land use patterns around the Ngurah Rai Bali Forest Park (Tahura Ngurah Rai Bali) mangrove area and evaluate the impact of land use on mangrove area changes for the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in Tahura Ngurah Rai Bali. The research methodology employed in this study is descriptive. Located strategically along the Sanur, Benoa, Tuban, and Nusa Dua tourist route along the Ngurah Rai Bali bypass, Tahura Ngurah Rai Bali is geographically positioned between 8°04'2'' - 8°04'9'' south latitude (LS) and 110°50'9'' - 110°50'14'' east longitude (BT). The Long-Term Management Plan, documented and approved by the Directorate General of Conservation and Natural Resources of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree SK.53/KSDAE/PKK/KSA.0/3/2023, is effective for 10 years from 2023 to 2032. This plan is an extension of the 2012-2022 Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP). The mangrove conservation area covers 159.44 hectares, while the production forest that can be converted covers 169.5 hectares. The impact of land use for purposes beyond forestry does not significantly affect the mangrove ecosystem. However, there is a highly significant impact on changes in mangrove area due to land conversion for physical structures such as the Bali Mandara Toll Road, the PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Tower, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of formal reasoning ability of high school students and its relationship to their chemistry learning outcomes on the topic of colligative properties. This non-experimental survey research involved 67 12th-grade science students who plan to continue their education to higher education as respondents. The data collection instruments consisted of the Test of Logical Thinking (TOLT), which describes the students' formal reasoning abilities, and the colligative properties achievement test, which indicates the students' learning achievements. The results showed a significant positive correlation between formal reasoning skills and students' learning achievements, with a high correlation level (r = 0.544). Based on the coefficient of determination, it was found that nearly 30% of students' colligative properties achievements are influenced by their formal reasoning abilities. Further analysis revealed that proportional and probabilistic reasoning had a higher percentage (both 61.94%) compared to control variables and correlational reasoning (both 52.985%). The regression analysis results indicated that reasoning ability significantly influences students' understanding of colligative properties with the equation y = 4.386 + 0.744x. This indicates that reasoning ability positively contributes to predicting their understanding of concepts in higher education. Additionally, other cognitive factors that are presumed to influence students' preparation before entering college or university need to be understood.

Abstract

This research aims to teach ecoprinting techniques to Early Childhood Education (PAUD) children in Katingan Kuala District, Katingan Regency, and assess the impact of this activity on their creativity, environmental awareness and fine motor skills. Ecoprint is a fabric dyeing technique using natural materials such as leaves, flowers, stems and plant roots, which offers an environmentally friendly and educational approach to learning. This activity involved 20 children from five different PAUDs aged between 4 and 6 years. Research methods include preparing fabric with mordant, selecting and arranging natural materials by children, wrapping and steaming the fabric, as well as drying and opening the ecoprint results. The research results show that ecoprint activities have succeeded in increasing children's enthusiasm for learning, with each stage of the activity showing active participation and high focus. The research results showed a significant increase in creativity, environmental awareness, and fine motor skills in PAUD students. Educators also report that these activities help children develop critical thinking and collaboration skills. Apart from that, ecoprints also provide a deeper understanding of nature and natural processes, and instill important values ​​such as patience and perseverance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the principal's leadership strategies in improving student academic achievement at SMAN 3 Banjarbaru, as well as identifying inhibiting factors and the solutions offered. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques including observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the strategy used by the Principal of SMAN 3 Banjarbaru is by conducting a SWOT analysis, establishing a vision, mission and making a strategic plan by carrying out effective communication through the waja to kaputing philosophy and creating a supportive environment and approaching students both internally and external. Meanwhile, the implementation carried out by the school principal is by listening to opinions, accommodating needs and ensuring the commitment of all school members. Meanwhile, the solution taken by the school principal if there are challenges and obstacles is to carry out analysis, provide solutions and provide guidance and follow-up.

Abstract

Education in general aims to improve the nation's intelligence through increasing understanding of the material obtained during the learning process. The chemistry learning process is never separated from chemistry textbooks which are used as the main learning resource that stimulates curiosity and improves students' thinking processes so as to achieve higher-order thinking skills. in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. This study aims to determine aspects of higher-order thinking skills that are developed in questions in chemistry textbooks for class XI even semester. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The sample in this research is a question document in a chemistry textbook for class XI even semester obtained by technique purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a question analysis sheet based on HOTS aspects according to Brookhart. The results of this study indicate that the HOTS aspects developed in the questions on chemistry textbooks for class XI even semester SMA/MA in Palangka Raya only have a percentage of 30.3% consisting of 17.8% analyzing aspects, 1.1% creating aspects, aspects of reasoning and logic 3.4%%, aspects of problem solving 7.4% and aspects of creativity and creative thinking 0.6%, while aspects of evaluating and aspects of decision making do not contain any questions in the textbooks analyzed, thus it is concluded that the questions The HOTS being developed is still dominated by questions that do aspects Non-HOTS according to Brookhart.

Abstract

This study uses a systematic review method. The research was conducted to describe and summarize the results of analyses related to students' difficulties in understanding the concept of reaction rates. The sample in this study consists of three theses on difficulties in understanding the concept of reaction rates. The data in this research are the students' difficulties based on the patterns of their answers and the instruments used in each thesis. The analysis of the instruments includes Basic Competencies (KD) and Operational Verbs (KKO) from the three theses, while the students' difficulties are analyzed by comparing the patterns of their answers. The results of the study on students' difficulties in understanding the concept of reaction rates are as follows: (1) students define that the reaction rate is the increase in the concentration of one of the reactants per unit time, (2) students consider the reaction rate to be, (3) students regard the index value as the coefficient used to divide the rate expression and use the index to balance the reaction, (4) in determining the reaction order based on experimental data tables, students consider that the reaction order is the quotient of the rate value divided by the concentration of the reactant, (5) students believe that the total reaction order is obtained by multiplying the concentration exponents or reaction orders, (6) students have difficulties with the chemical calculation concept in determining the reaction order based on experimental data tables, assuming that the reaction order is the quotient of the rate value divided by the concentration of the reactant, (7) students consider that the reaction order value is the concentration value in a reaction rate equation, and (8) students are not meticulous in interpreting the known data into their calculation formulas and believe that the reaction rate value can be obtained from the coefficient of the product.

Abstract

Meta-analysis is an activity that involves identifying, evaluating, and interpreting relevant research to systematically combine the results of existing studies. This research aims to analyze central tendency, variation, and errors in studies. This research uses four theses related to the development of Android-based learning media on colloid material. This research employs a quantitative meta-analysis method with the following steps: 1) Searching for sources and identifying thesis documents, 2) Expert assessment by media experts, material experts, and students, analyzing N and I values, 3) Calculating effect size and standard error, 4) Creating a forest plot for the effect size and standard error values. The results of the study are as follows: In the development studies of Android-based learning media on colloid material, media experts, material experts, and students have different percentage levels due to differences in location, research subjects, and media used. The assessment by media and material experts most suitable for Android-based colloid learning, reviewed from effect size and forest plot, is in study or research NA-22. In the material expert assessment, study RS-19 is the most suitable evaluation to obtain student responses for the development of Android-based learning media on colloid material.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the alignment of Chemical Bonding concepts in YouTube channel videos with the 2013 curriculum, (2) describe the alignment of chemical bonding concepts in YouTube channel educational videos with 21st-century learning aspects (4C), (3) describe the suitability of pedagogy in chemical bonding educational videos on YouTube channels, and (4) explain how the reviewed YouTube channel videos can still support learning. The research method used is a descriptive approach. The object of this study is the concept of chemical bonding in educational videos from YouTube channels. Three educational videos were analyzed and coded as Video A, Video B, and Video C, and were conducted offline in a classroom setting. The instruments used include a concept label identification table, a 2013 curriculum concept label identification table, a 4C skills indicator identification table, and a pedagogy identification table. The identification results were validated by lecturers from the Chemistry Education Study Program at the University of Palangka Raya. The results showed that the concept labels from the three analyzed educational videos amounted to 32 concept labels. The concept labels that align with the 2013 curriculum syllabus are 11 concept labels across Videos A, B, and C. Overall, the 21st-century skills most commonly developed are Communication skills in Video A, Collaboration skills in Video B, and Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in Video C. The pedagogy demonstrated by teachers in YouTube channel educational videos most frequently included indicators of effective, empathetic, and courteous communication with students in Video A, curriculum development related to the subject taught in Video B, and facilitating the development of students' potential to actualize their various abilities in Video C.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the model for coaching school principals through the application of local wisdom values ​​of Kakaluargaan to improve the professional competence of teachers at SMKN 3 Banjarbaru, implementation, and identify inhibiting factors and the solutions offered. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques including observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the coaching model used by the Principal of SMKN 3 Banjarbaru is by: conducting assessments, analyzing, providing suggestions, evaluating and following up, involving senior teachers and motivating and providing guidance to teachers. Meanwhile, the implementation of the coaching model carried out by the school principal is by: a) carrying out supervision: carrying out pre-observation, observation, evaluation and follow-up; b) coaching outside supervision: sharing experience and knowledge in an effort to increase teacher professional competence. Meanwhile, the solution taken by the school principal if there are challenges and obstacles is to embrace, involve teachers in teacher professional development training, provide access to teacher professional development, teachers learn from colleagues and carry out evaluations and feedback.

Abstract

The relationship between students' prior knowledge and real knowledge in their environment can be a consideration in learning. Understanding this real context is related to the standards of the mathematics learning process, namely integration with culture, integration of culture with mathematics learning is called ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics refers to the learning process that combines mathematical concepts with local cultural wisdom. The purpose of this study is on the Benang Bintik motif of the typical Dayak cloth of Central Kalimantan which contains mathematical elements in it. The type of research conducted is exploratory research with an ethnographic approach, where research seeks causes or things that influence the occurrence of something or is used when researchers do not know exactly and specifically about the object of research. Ethnography is a type of qualitative research, where researchers conduct studies on group culture in natural conditions through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the exploration carried out found geometric concepts in flat shapes in the form of squares, rectangles, triangles, pentagons, isosceles trapezoids, parallelograms, rhombuses and kites. The concept of this flat shape pattern can be a reference for teaching materials in classroom learning. The use of typical regional cloth motifs will certainly make learning more interesting in mathematics learning. The concept of flat geometry that is usually taught conventionally can be changed contextually through an ethnomathematics approach. Not only does it change the learning paradigm, it can also be a place to preserve local culture, especially the typical Dayak cloth motifs in Central Kalimantan.
