The COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the whole world has disrupted various important things, including the match agenda, including the holding of PON (National Sports Week) which had to be postponed. The exercise program that has been carried out by athletes has also been disrupted, especially physical exercise that must be done at home. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical condition of the results of training carried out by West Java Judo athletes during the general preparation period, which was also constrained by the existence of a home exercise program at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a descriptive method using research instruments 1) aerobic capacity: balke test; (2) an-aerobic capacity: 300 meters-run test; (3) strength endurance: 1-minute push up test and 1-minute sit-up test; (4) core stabilization: core stabilization test. The sample in this study were 18 athletes of West Java Judo PON Pelatda PON XX athletes. The t-test was used as a data analysis technique for this research. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the exercise carried out on the physical condition of the athlete at the general preparation stage. An increase in every component of the athlete's physical condition also occurred, although some of them experienced no change or even a decrease. This is due to the constraints of the training program that must be faced during the time of training at home independently, so athletes are constrained by limited facilities, unlike the facilities provided in the centralized training center. Motivation to practice also affects the factor of practicing during the training period at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study aims to determine the timing of ice compression on the onset of DOMS after submaximal exercise. This research is experimental with post-test only control group design. Thirty students of the Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University participated as subjects. Subjects were divided into three groups, control, treatment 1 hour after exercise, and 4 hours after. Submaximal exercise is done by step test. Ice compression was given for 10 minutes on subject’s front thigh muscles. DOMS pain was assessed using the VAS pain scale. The collected data were analyzed using the one way Anova test and continued with the Post Hoc LSD test. The results of the analysis using the one way Anova test showed a significant difference between the three research groups and the Post Hoc test showed no significant difference between two treatment groups, but the treatment 4 hours group had lower pain scale on VAS. Ice compression after 4 hours exercise can inhibit the macrophages which were the main immune cells for inflammatory reactions. From this study, it was concluded that the most effective timing of ice compression on the onset of DOMS was 4 hours after submaximal exercise.

The purpose of this study was to present a novel approach to identify factors that influence student attrition in an undergraduate Sport and Exercise Science (SpES) degree. A non-linear statistical technique was used to analyze demographic indicators of students enrolled in the first year of the SpES bachelor's degree at an Australian university (n = 312). Student dropout was successfully predicted using Chi-Squared Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID). Using only four variables (i.e., Region, ATAR, Admission, & VCEBus), the model achieved an 87.50% classification accuracy. The article concludes with an endorsement of the proposed analysis to predict student dropout. Administrative and teaching-focused university staff may adopt the novel approach to identify the relevant demographic indicators for their respective institutions or programs of study in the management of student attrition. The limitations of this study are also discussed.
