Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and infectious diseases are still challenging public health problems. The increase of prevalence directs need for community preventive and promotive to behave healthily and change their lifestyle. In supporting tri dharma and improving public health, community service was carried out as social services and treatment in Cikeas Udik Village. This activity aims to determine description of disease, provide counseling and education, and provide social services and health treatment to community. Activity steps include counseling, screening examinations, and treatment. Univariate data analysis used descriptive. Number of participants was 94 people, of which 82% were women. The examination results showed that the patient's blood pressure was normal, but hypertension was the highest diagnosis. Laboratory examination results showed normal GDS, normal cholesterol, abnormal uric acid in women. There are five largest drug groups, namely analgesics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, antacids, and multivitamins. Then the body balance of the community still needs to be inhanced. It can be concluded that social service provide benefits to the people. Participants are very enthusiastic in the activities. It is hoped that health conditions will be known, have good and appropriate treatment will be obtained.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs in the informal sector of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) remain limited. Informal workers in MSME bakeries are exposed to various physical, chemical, and ergonomic hazards, which contribute to health complaints. These complaints often manifest as pain and discomfort in the back, hands, and feet—common indicators of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). If left unaddressed, MSDs can adversely impact workers’ health, increase absenteeism, and ultimately reduce MSME productivity. This community service program involved several stages: an assessment of OHS conditions among service partners, the implementation of intervention activities, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation of outcomes. The initial assessment identified musculoskeletal complaints among partner workers. Interventions included work posture assessments, evaluation of MSD symptoms, body anthropometry measurements, the design and provision of ergonomic chairs, and the development of workplace stretching routines. Monitoring was conducted by observing changes in work posture following the ergonomic chair intervention, as well as tracking MSD complaints after the introduction of stretching exercises. Evaluation results showed a reduction in work posture risk, from level 4 to level 2, after the ergonomic chair intervention. Moreover, muscle stretching exercises helped reduce the intensity of MSD-related pain among informal workers.In conclusion, this community service initiative through the development of ergonomic seating and implementation of stretching exercises has contributed to a reduction in MSD complaints among informal bakery workers in Tohudan, Colomadu. These improvements are expected to enhance the overall productivity of the MSME sector.

Abstract

The community service conducted by STB Runata in Blahkiuh Village aims to support the preservation of local culture and increase the competitiveness of business actors through creative and collaborative approaches. This activity includes three main focuses, namely: (1) the creation of promotional content in the Subak area as an effort to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen traditional agriculture-based tourism attractions; (2) product packaging assistance to Jaje Begina MSMEs to improve the visual quality and selling value of traditional processed products; and (3) a visit to the incense medium industry to identify the potential and challenges faced by local industry players in the aspects of production and marketing. The total number of participants who attended this activity was 80 (eighty) people. The method used to solve the problems was to conduct socialization activities, training and assistance in packaging, labeling jaje begine MSME products and creating content in subak. The results of the activities showed an increase in awareness of the importance of digital promotion, packaging innovation, and the potential for developing local products based on cultural and spiritual values. This service is expected to be the first step in strengthening a sustainable local business ecosystem based on local wisdom.

Abstract

Daarul Amal Playgroup (KOBER), an early childhood education establishment situated in Bandung City, plays a pivotal role in fostering an intelligent and healthy generation.  Nonetheless, despite its significant role in educating children, this institution encounters some obstacles, particularly with the quality of water utilized in everyday operations.  This community service initiative seeks to enhance water quality at KOBER Daarul Amal by instructing students on the significance of clean water and implementing a filtration system utilizing three filter media: zeolite, ferrolite, and activated charcoal.  The outcomes of the educational initiatives for students indicated an increased awareness regarding the significance of clean water. The outcomes of educational initiatives indicate that students have increased their awareness regarding the significance of clean water. Furthermore, the implementation of water filtration has enhanced the water quality at the site, as demonstrated by the initial TDS test results, which ranged from 455.3  ppm to 359,7 ppm, and the turbidity value, which decreased from 4.50 NTU to 4.48 NTU. In addition, based on the results of the questionnaire given to the teachers, it can also be concluded that this community service activity has met its targets.

Abstract

The Standardization and Industrial Service Center (BSPJI) in Banjarbaru is facing the challenge of a high workload that affects the work-life balance of its employees, despite a supportive family-like work atmosphere. To address this issue, this community service activity aims to reduce burnout and stress while enhancing understanding of work-life balance (WLB) through psychoeducation and interventions such as the butterfly hug and ice breaking. The method involved 62 participants from ASN and PPNPN at BSPJI Banjarbaru, with a 90-minute session that included ice breaking to create a relaxed atmosphere, psychoeducation to provide knowledge about WLB, and the butterfly hug as a self-healing relaxation technique. Evaluation results showed that 95% of participants felt that the stress management techniques taught helped them manage work pressure better, and 100% understood the importance of balancing work and personal life. Additionally, 98% of participants reported a more positive work atmosphere after the activity, while 93% found the butterfly hug effective in relieving workplace stress. This activity also successfully increased motivation, self-confidence, and practical skills that can be applied in daily life, thereby improving the quality of life for employees. Thus, the psychoeducation training and interventions of butterfly hug and ice breaking effectively reduced burnout and stress among BSPJI Banjarbaru employees while promoting understanding and commitment to the importance of work-life balance in the workplace.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a growing environmental issue, particularly in community-level areas that lack adequate waste management systems. This community service activity aims to implement appropriate technology in the form of a plastic crusher machine to support efficient, economical, and sustainable plastic waste processing at the community scale. The method includes community needs assessment, machine design and fabrication, operational training, and post-implementation monitoring and evaluation. The results show that the crusher machine can reduce the volume of plastic waste by up to 60% and significantly increase community participation in waste management activities. Furthermore, this machine has the potential to drive recycling-based economic activities through the utilization of crushed plastic waste as raw material for new products. This program contributes directly to enhancing local community capacity in addressing environmental problems and promotes self-reliant waste management through the application of appropriate technology.

Abstract

Prevalensi penyakit tidak menular (PTM) masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan baik di Indonesia dan Malaysia, khususnya di Kampung Batu 14, Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. Beberapa permasalahan diantaranya (1) tingginya penyakit degeneratif (diabetes melitus dan kolesterol); (2) pola penggunaan obat di masyarakat dengan kombinasi pengobatan modern dan tradisional; (3) terbatasnya pemanfaatan tanaman obat secara mandiri di masyarakat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pengabdian kepada masyarakat Internasional diajukan bertujuan untuk melakukan “Pendampingan skrining kesehatan dan edukasi pemanfaatan tanaman obat dalam pencegahan penyakit degeneratif”. Kegiatan PKM Internasional bermitra dengan PCI IMM Malaysia dengan sasaran Masyarakat Batu 14 Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. Metode pelaksanaan melalui penyampaian materi secara langsung (penyuluhan/edukasi), skrining kadar gula darah dan kolesterol, serta simulasi praktek pengolahan tanaman obat. Kegiatan PKM dilakukan dalam dua sesi, sesi ke-1 pada volunteer kesehatan (anggota PCI IMM Malaysia berjumlah 11 orang), dan sesi ke-2 pada mitra sasaran warga Kampung Batu 14, Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia (berjumlah 20 orang). Pengukuran tingkat pengetahuan peserta dilakukan melalui kuesioner pretes dan postest. Hasil skrining kesehatan menunjukkan mayoritas peserta memiliki rerata tekanan darah=128.53/83,03 mmHg; kadar gula darah=6,31 mmol/L; kadar kolesterol=3,79 mmol/L. Keseluruhan rerata hasil skrining baik pada kedua kelompok menunjukkan pada rentang normal. Tingkat pengetahuan warga Kampung Batu 14 meningkat setelah mendapatkan edukasi kesehatan, yaitu 60% kategori pengetahuan tinggi, dan 40% kategori pengetahuan sedang. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan PKM menunjukkan bahwa Pendampingan Skirining dan Edukasi Pemanfaatan Tanaman Obat mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan pencegahan penyakit degeneratif baik pada volunteer kesehatan maupun warga Kampung Batu 14, Puchong Selangor, Malaysia.

Abstract

UMKM di Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin menghadapi tantangan dalam menggunakan teknologi digital yaitu media sosial untuk promosi dan peningkatan penjualan. Mayoritas pelaku UMKM saat ini masih mengandalkan metode pemasaran konvensional yang kurang optimal dalam memperluas jangkauan pasar. Penggunaan media sosial dapat menjadi alternatif efektif untuk meningkatkan eksposur dan penjualan produk mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kemampuan pelaku UMKM dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital agar dapat meningkatkan strategi pemasaran serta penjualan produk secara signifikan. Metode kegiatan dimulai dengan analisis awal terhadap kebutuhan dan permasalahan yaitu dengan melakukan survei dan wawancara kepada para pelaku UMKM untuk memahami kendala yang mereka hadapi. Setelah itu, dilakukan perancangan (design) yang mencakup materi tentang penggunaan media sosial untuk promosi. Pada tahap implementasi, pelatihan dilakukan secara langsung dengan metode tutorial dan praktek. Pelaku UMKM diberi kesempatan untuk mencoba memasarkan produk mereka melalui media sosial serta pendampingan teknis secara berkelanjutan untuk memastikan pelaku UMKM dapat mengatasi kendala yang muncul selama penggunaan platform digital. Evaluasi juga dilakukan untuk menilai tingkat pemahaman peserta dalam pemasaran produk mereka. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, diberikan rekomendasi lebih lanjut untuk pemeliharaan dan peningkatan kemampuan digital pelaku UMKM di masa mendatang. Hasilnya, program pelatihan dan pendampingan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman pelaku UMKM tentang pentingnya media sosial dalam pengelolaan usaha. Pelaku UMKM yang mengikuti pelatihan dapat memanfaatkan media sosial untuk mempromosikan produk mereka dengan lebih efektif dan efisien. Namun, masih ada beberapa kendala yang perlu diatasi, seperti kurangnya pemahaman teknis dalam mengelola platform digital secara optimal.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Permai Tani merupakan salah satu KWT yang berada di Kabupaten Magelang. KWT Permai Tani memiliki salah satu komoditas unggulan berupa buah tomat cherry. Tidak semua buah tomat dapat terjual saat panen raya datang, sehingga terbuang menjadi limbah. Salah satu cara meningkatkan nilai tambah buah tomat adalah mengolahnya menjadi saus tomat. Keterbatasan pengetahuan terkait cara pengolahan tomat menjadi saus tomat dengan berbagai pilihan filler yang sesuai dengan cara pengolahan pangan yang baik dan benar menjadi kendala bagi KWT Permai Tani. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah sosialisasi cara pengolahan buah tomat menjadi saus tomat dengan berbagai pilihan filler (bahan pengisi). Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, sosialisasi, dan evaluasi. Persiapan dilakukan dengan cara survei lokasi dan diskusi terkait kendala dan rencana teknis sosialisasi program. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan evaluasi dilakukan dengan teknik ceramah dibantu dengan brosur dan sampel produk. Evaluasi dilaksanakan sebelum dan setelah sosialisasi dilaksanakan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dari peserta kegiatan yang dihadiri oleh 10 anggota KWT. Peningkatan pengetahuan ditunjukkan dari nilai pre-test yang awalnya 5,8 meningkat menjadi 7,7 pada skala nilai maksimal 10 setelah post-test. Tingkat kepuasan peserta program pengabdian masyarakat sebesar 3,16 ± 0,09.
