Abstract

The objective of this research is to produce a comic media product of football basic techniques that is suitable to use by athletes that can facilitate the way of learning and practicing football basic technique movements.This research was a research and development using Sugiyono's development procedure with 8 steps: (1) Potential problems, (2) Collecting materials, (3) Product design, (4) Product creation, (5) Validation of material and media experts, (6) Product revision, (7) Product trial, and (8) Final product. Small group product trials were conducted at Real Madrid Foundation UNY with coaches and athletes totaling 12 subjects. Large group product trials were conducted at SSB Maguwoharjo Putra and Maguwoharjo Football Park totaling 34 subjects. The data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis by finding the average score.The research findings reveal that the football basic technique media developed is suitable to use in learning. The results of the validation of material experts are at 3.3 (Good) and the validation of media experts is at 4.6 (very good). The results of the small group trial of coaches are at 4.8 (very good) and athletes are at 4.5 (very good) while the results of the large group trial of coaches are at 4.4 (very good) and athletes are at 4.6 (very good). Comic media of football basic techniques can attract the interest and motivation of beginner athletes to learn football basic techniques and enrich the varieties in the training media.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the level of knowledge of basic football techniques among football school players at Bintang Putra Melati Football School and Matra Sleman Football School. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a questionnaire survey method. The population consisted of 160 players from Bintang Putra Melati Football School and 120 players from Matra Sleman Football School. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the following criteria: 1. players who had been registered at Bintang Putra Melati Football School and Matra Sleman Football School for six months, 2. players who had participated in the Askab Sleman competition with Bintang Putra Melati Football School and Matra Sleman Football School, and 3. players who were willing to become research samples. Based on these criteria, the sample consisted of 20 players from each football school, with a total of 40 players. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis with five categories: very high, high, moderate, low, and very low. The results showed that the level of knowledge of basic football techniques at Bintang Putra Melati Football School was categorized as very high for 0 players or 0%, high for 0 players or 0%, moderate for 19 players or 95%, low for 0 players or 0%, and very low for 1 player or 5%. Meanwhile, the level of knowledge of basic football techniques at Matra Sleman Football School was categorized as very high for 0 players or 0%, high for 0 players or 0%, moderate for 17 players or 85%, low for 1 player or 5%, and very low for 2 players or 10%. These findings indicate that Bintang Putra Melati Football School had a better level of basic football technique knowledge than Matra Sleman Football School. Therefore, coaches are expected to strengthen their role in developing and improving players' knowledge of basic techniques and football skills, especially in the 12-year-old age category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of rope jump training and single leg jump training towards the increasing leg power and long pass skills of football players from SSB Pesat (Pesat Football School) Tempel, Sleman Regency in the age group of 14-15 years old. This study used a quasiexperimental type for 16 training sessions with a two-group pretest- posttest design research method. The selection of subjects used a purposive sampling technique totaling 20 student samples with group division using the matched subject ordinal pairing technique. The research instrument used a skipping rope for rope jump training and a hurdle for single leg jump training. The data collection technique used a long pass test by Frank M. Verducci with a validity value of 0.94 and a reliability value of 0.99, and a vertical jump test by Bafirman and Wahyuni with a validity value of 0.95 and a reliability value of 0.96. The data analysis technique used prerequisite tests, called normality tests and homogeneity tests, and used a t-test to determine the research hypothesis with a significance level of 5%. The research findings show that 1) rope jump training increase leg power ability, with t count at 6.000 > t table 2.262, significance 0.000 < 0.05, percentage increase at 5.053%, and increasing long pass skills, with t count at 5.288 > t table 2.262, significance 0.001 < 0.05, percentage increase at 2.626%. 2) Single leg jump training increases leg power ability, with t count at 7.571 > t table 2.262, significance 0.000 < 0.05, percentage increases 4.536%, and increasing long pass skills, with t count at 6.181 > t table 2.262, significance 0.000 < 0.05, percentage increases at 2.426%. 3) Rope jump training provides greater improvement compared to single leg jump training on leg power ability and long pass skills of football players from SSB Pesat Tempel Sleman in the age group of 14-15 years old.

Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is commonly experienced by adolescent and adult women, including female athletes. The pain is associated with various factors, such as sociodemographic, psychosocial, lifestyle or health-related factors, and reproductive factors. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels, training intensity, and micronutrient intake with primary dysmenorrhea among female student athletes at SMAN X Bandung and to analyze the most dominant variable associated with primary dysmenorrhea. This research method used a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 63 female student athletes at SMAN X Bandung, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The Spearman rho correlation test showed that training intensity (p = 0,000; r = 0,507), iron intake (p = 0,000; r = -0,620), vitamin B6 intake (p = 0,000; r = -0,503), and magnesium intake (p = 0,000; r = -0,430) were associated with primary dysmenorrhea in female student athletes. In contrast, stress level and calcium intake (p = > 0,05) were not associated with primary dysmenorrhea in female student athletes. High training intensity was found to increase the risk of primary dysmenorrhea by 13,091 times compared to low training intensity, while iron intake was found to be a protective factor (OR < 1). Monitoring and providing education on stress management, proper training programs, and adequate micronutrient intake are necessary to improve athletes' health and performance. Abstract

Penalty kicks in soccer become crucial moments that determine the outcome of the match. This research aims to analyze penalty kicks in terms of dominant foot and direction. Data were collected through video analysis of soccer players' penalty kicks in the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches via the official FIFA website. This study involved 5 videos of penalty shootout matches with a total of 41 kicks performed by professional players. Based on the analysis results, it was found that in the penalty shootout of the 2022 World Cup, 80.49% of players took the kick using their dominant right foot, and 19.51% used their dominant left foot. Regarding the target direction chosen by players, it was observed that players with dominant right foot more often aimed the ball towards the bottom left, while players with dominant left foot more frequently aimed towards the bottom middle. When considering the success rate of kicks resulting in goals, kicks with dominant right foot had a higher success rate when aimed towards the top middle and bottom middle, whereas kicks with dominant left foot had a higher success rate when aimed towards the bottom middle and bottom left. The research results indicate that dominant foot and target direction are contributing factors to the success of penalty kicks.

Abstract

The training model used so far is still partial, such as the separation between physical, technical, and mental training. This study conducted a study on the combination of physical and mental training with the abbreviation DFV (Dryland, Flexibility, Visualization) training model. The purpose of the study was to develop and assess the validity and reliability of the DFV training model with the imposition of improving butterfly swimming technique skills on beginner swimmers aged 10-11 years. A total of seven experts were asked to assess 17 movement items of the DFV training model. The seven experts were divided into three theorists and four professional swimming coaches. Data were collected using the Delphi technique and then analyzed using the Aiken formula for validity and Cronbach's alpha for reliability. The results obtained in the Aikens test were 0.899. Based on the Aiken's table value with seven expert validators is 0.86, so it can be concluded that the movement items of the DFV Exercise model are valid with a significance level of 0.07. Cronbach's alpha is used to measure the reliability of each aspect of the DFV exercise model instrument, with the result of 0.833 which is greater than the alpha value (0.6) then it can be said that this exercise model is reliable. Based on the results of the calculation of the validity and reliability values, it shows that this DFV exercise model can be continued for further development. The implications of this study can prove that the DFV exercise model can be used to improve butterfly swimming skills in beginner athletes aged 10-11 years which can be used for coaches and in physical education teaching.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Develop a paired passing training model to improve soccer passing skills in Planet Soccer School Palembang athletes. (2) Determine the level of feasibility of the paired passing training model to improve soccer passing skills in Planet Soccer School Palembang athletes. (3) Determine the level of effectiveness of the paired passing training model to improve soccer passing skills in Planet Soccer School Palembang athletes. This research is a development research using the Borg and Gall research and development model, which involves the stages of model development with ten development steps/phases, including potentials and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, design revisions, small-scale trials, small-scale revisions, large-scale trials, largescale revisions, and the final product. Soccer learning experts and coaching practitioners carried out validation. Trials consisted of small-scale and large-scale trials and effectiveness tests-data collection techniques included questionnaires for assessing skills and teamwork instruments. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results of the pairedpassing training model to improve soccer passing skills in Planet Soccer School Palembang athletes were deemed feasible; small-scale trial results showed a 84% valid rate for passing skills without revision, and large-scale trials showed a 95.2% valid rate for passing skills without revision.

Abstract

Optimal physical development supports match performance and training. However, training programs designed for physical development are often ineffective. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of plyometric training and ladder drills on the agility of basketball players and to compare the effects of these two training methods on agility. This study was a quantitative study with an experimental design. The study population consisted of 20 basketball players from Bone Regency. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The research instrument was the Arrowhead Agility Test. Data analysis used paired t-tests and independent t-tests. The results of the data normality test showed a significance value greater than 0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. Both plyometric training and ladder drills significantly improved the agility of basketball athletes, and there were differences between the two training methods. The research findings indicate that both plyometric training and ladder drills significantly improved the agility performance of basketball athletes. Both methods are equally effective in improving agility. These results highlight that plyometric exercises and ladder drills can be used to improve anaerobic endurance performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical condition profiles of prospective taekwondo athletes at the Banten Province Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPLOP) in 2022 and to serve as a basis for athlete selection. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method using a survey approach. The study population and sample consisted of 10 prospective taekwondo athletes participating in the selection process, comprising 5 male athletes and 5 female athletes. The instruments used included physical fitness tests covering speed (30-meter sprint), agility (shuttle run), strength (push-ups and sit ups), power (standing broad jump and vertical jump), flexibility (sit and reach), coordination (tennis ball throw and catch), and endurance (multistage fitness test). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages. The results showed that male athletes’ speed fell into the “adequate” category, while female athletes’ speed was in the “good” category. Agility for both male and female athletes was in the “poor” category. Strength components ranged from “good” to “very good” in both groups. Lower-body explosive power, as measured by the standing broad jump, was in the “poor” to “very poor” categories, while the vertical jump was in the “adequate” category. The flexibility of both male and female athletes is rated as very good. The coordination of both groups is rated as very poor. Meanwhile, the cardiovascular endurance of both male and female athletes is rated as good. Overall, strength, flexibility, and endurance are the most prominent components, while coordination, agility, and explosive power still need improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to map basketball court facilities in Kulon Progo Regency, covering availability, physical condition, and compliance with FIBA, PERBASI, and Permenpora standards. This quantitative descriptive study employed a survey method using total sampling on 35 courts that met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through observation using a checklist covering 26 components across three aspects: court infrastructure, game equipment, and supporting facilities. Data analysis was descriptive, involving the calculation of scores, percentages, and categorization of suitability. The results showed: (1) The 35 courts are spread across 12 subdistricts with an uneven distribution; Wates Subdistrict accounts for 37.14%, while each of the five northern subdistricts has only one court; (2) Physical conditions are generally good (77.14% in the Good–Very Good category, 22.86% in the Fair category), but there are significant safety deficiencies: 91.43% of goalposts lack padding, 40% have substandard free space, and 42.86% lack lighting; (3) Ring height compliance is 100%, court dimensions 68.57%, free space 60%, and indoor lighting 5.71%. Conclusion: The availability and physical condition of the courts are generally good, but there are still disparities in distribution as well as deficiencies in safety and compliance with technical standards. Priority improvements are recommended for safety components and the equitable development of facilities to support the 2027 PORDA performance targets.
