Abstract

The research objective was to determine the significant difference between student science learning outcomes taught through the Snowball Throwing model and students taught through conventional learning in class V SD Plus Tigabalata. The study population was all students in grade V SD Plus Tigabalata Jorlang Hataran totaling 65 students. Science learning outcomes data were collected using an instrument in the form of a regular multiple-choice test. The t-test is this data. The results showed that there was a significant difference between students who took the Snowball Throwing model learning and students who took conventional learning (that = 2,562> t table = 2,000) with DB = 82 (Σn-2 = 84-2 = 82) and the level of significance 5%. So it can be concluded that the Snowball Throwing model has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of SD Plus class V IPA students in Tigabalata, Jorlang Hataran District.

Abstract

Since the last of 2019, the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) identified and its spreading globally as pandemic disease. During the COVID-19 outbreaks all countries all over the world change in terms of regulation include educational system. The majority of countries were implementing online learning from elementary to higher education level. However, how students’ barriers and perceived during attending the online learning were still unidentifed. This study aims to investigate the engineering students’ barriers and perception in online learning environment during the pandemic. This study applied cross-sectional study were participants recruited from engineering schools both mining and civil engineerings. There are 170 students participated in this study, and predominantly who age range 17-20 (81.2%), men (84.1%), mining engineering (55.9%), freshmen (47.6%),  students’ barriers in severe level (50%), and students’ perception in good perception level (55.9%). The statistic analysis using Chi-square test found that there is no effect of socio-demographics on students’ barriers and perception in online learning. While, the correlation test shows that barriers and perceptions has positive correlation in online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of teacher performance in the teaching and learning process. Teacher performance is seen from three indicators, namely the stage of planning learning activities, the stage of implementing learning activities and the evaluation / assessment stage of learning. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive approach using observation data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation and the subject of this research is the social studies subject teacher at SMP Negeri A and MTS B. The results showed that the performance of teachers in the teaching and learning process (case studies of social studies subject teachers at SMP Negeri A and Mts B was in a good category for Mts B and good enough for SMP Negeri A which can be seen from the stage planning learning activities and the evaluation / assessment stage of learning. At the planning stage, social studies teacher learning activities do not experience obstacles and have been implemented properly according to the first indicator where the social studies teacher already has the ability to arrange learning tool activities (called RPP).

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of learning management on the learning achievements of Christian education. The data analysis methods used were simple correlation analysis method, simple linear regression analysis and t test. The samples in this study were 95 Christian students of state senior high school. The relationship between Learning Management (X) and Learning Achievement (Y) amounted to 0.661. The correlation relationship rate was in the high category. So there was a positive relationship with the low category between Learning Management and Student Learning Achievement. R Square of 0.437 this showed that the influence of Learning Management with Student Learning Achievement was 43.70% and the remaining 56.3% was influenced by other factors not discussed in this study. The t test was conducted by comparing tcount and ttable. In accordance with the testing requirements that tcount (3,580) > ttable (0,2796), this means that the variables of Learning Management have a positive and significant influence on the Student Learning Achievement. Thus Ho refused and Ha was accepted. Considering the high influence of learning management on learning achievement, teachers need to reorganize the learning patterns of Christian education. The focus of change is directed at planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the materials and the class as well.

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus has had a very big impact, especially for the world of education. The impact that occurred in the world of education was experienced by several private universities, especially the HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University (UHKBPNP). As a result of the COVID-19 virus, universities are required to make changes to learning procedures that were previously done face-to-face to online learning. However, the challenge for universities is the diversity of origin of the students themselves.  This study aims to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on online learning satisfaction. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. The number of students who were used as informants in this study were 169 people consisting of active students in the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Water Resources Management Study Program and Mathematics study programs who were randomly selected. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the majority of students at UHKBPNP have devices to support online learning, it can be seen from the percentage of device ownership of 94%. However, there are still some dissatisfactions faced by students when online learning is carried out such as: students feel they cannot easily monitor the progress of online learning, cannot obtain learning materials easily nor can they learn material easily. Overall, both from the technology side and the lecturer side, students are not satisfied with the online learning method they are currently living and also dissatisfied with the lecturer's ability to deliver material in online learning.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic enforced all educational institutions to adjust the learning environments from offline to online and from online to offline. The study aimed to find out the students’ attitude toward the transformation of online to offline learning in the EFL classroom. This descriptive quantitative study is a survey engaging in three Iyer attitude scales categories; enjoyment, academic efficacy, and anxiety as the instrument. From a total of 225 students in the tenth as the population, 39 students were responded the questionnaires as the sample through purposive sampling. The data obtained was later calculated for each responses’ percentage. The participation level of each three scales categories for both online and offline learning was interpreted using the interval scale modified from Erarslan and Topkaya. The interpretation result generated that the students enjoyed offline learning more than online learning, the students' academic efficacy was higher in online learning than offline learning, and the students' anxiety level in online learning is higher than offline learning. This result designates substantial insight for future policymaking by the government regarding the implementation of online and offline learning. Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 "attack" in Indonesia has changed many things, one of which is in terms of teaching. The Catholic religion is no exception. Catholic Religion teachers have shifted the learning model from face-to-face to online (online) with the aim of reducing the frequency of students' physical encounters. These actions have proven to have helped slow the spread of this virus. At first, it was not easy to switch the face-to-face learning mode to online learning, but now it has become a habit. Methods This research is qualitative which was conducted for three months. Field findings were obtained. There are a number of obstacles that must be faced by both teachers and students, especially related to internet networks, laptops, and cellphones. In terms of teaching, the author focuses on two things that are typical of online learning strategies that must be met. First, students follow the learning process as is usually done in class with any strategy, Second, after one or several main teaching materials are completed, students take a learning outcome test to determine whether the student in question has completed it or not. Students who have not achieved completeness are required to take part in the diagnosis-remediation activity. This activity is widely practiced wrongly. An important finding from this research is that the learning model during the Covid-19 period is assignments and visits to students' homes. It turns out that teachers do not always provide material resumes and are accompanied by independent assignments to students based on the material in the textbook according to the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). Teachers also cannot use WhatsApp media and printouts of teaching material resumes because of difficulties in accessing the internet and not all students have cellphones. It was also found that the teacher visited students' homes. This is done for the sake of justice in obtaining the same knowledge.
