Abstract

Identity theft carried out by political parties during the stages of political party registration, verification, and the determination of political parties participating in the 2024 legislative election has the potential to violate election laws and cause harm to society, especially those with professions that are prohibited from becoming members or administrators of political parties. Using the theoretical basis of Article 93 of Law No. 17 of 2017, BAWASLU (Election Supervisory Agency) is authorized to prevent and take action against electoral violations and election process disputes. Bawaslu, as a key player, as stipulated in the laws and regulations in Indonesia, must address the issues mentioned above. The focus of this research is: 1) How does Bawaslu play a role in preventing identity theft by political parties participating in the 2024 election? 2) How does BAWASLU play a role in preventing identity theft by political parties based on the perspective of Islamic law? The objectives of this research are: 1) To analyze the role of BAWASLU in preventing identity theft by political parties participating in the 2024 election. 2) To analyze the role of BAWASLU in preventing identity theft by political parties based on the perspective of Islamic law. The research method used is empirical legal research. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the research show that: 1) BAWASLU has carried out its duties and responsibilities in preventing identity theft in accordance with its position, based on Article 94 of Law No. 17 of 2017, by opening public complaint posts at 34 provincial Bawaslu offices and 514 regency/city Bawaslu offices. 2) From the perspective of Islamic law, Bawaslu's role in preventing identity theft by political parties is guided by the principles of nationhood and statehood, as well as the fundamental principles based on Shari’ah as found in the Qur'an, including the principles of sovereignty, justice, consultation, rights and duties of the state and people, and the principle of Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Munkar.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between city branding and policy legitimacy in the context of urban public space planning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) employing the PRISMA method. The study integrates perspectives from marketing management and public policy to capture the complexity of urban governance. By analyzing 27 articles published in Scopus- and SINTA-indexed journals (2020–2025), the research identifies four major themes: (1) legitimacy and inclusivity in place branding; (2) governance and stakeholder participation; (3) policy implementation in the regulation of street vendors and public space management; and (4) government communication and public trust. A reflective analysis of the case of Makassar (2025–2026) demonstrates a relocation–transformative approach based on the concept of a “creative ecosystem,” integrating city branding strategies with the economic empowerment of street vendors. The findings reveal an inherent tension between the aesthetic imperatives of city branding and socio-economic justice in policy implementation. This study proposes an integrative framework, termed the “City Branding–Policy Legitimacy Nexus,” as a theoretical contribution that bridges urban marketing dimensions with public policy processes in urban governance. The study recommends strengthening substantive stakeholder participation, fostering transparent two-way communication, and integrating community leadership into place branding strategies to achieve legitimate and sustainable policy outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of financial literacy, digital financial literacy, financial attitudes, and hedonistic lifestyle on students’ financial behavior, with locus of control and self-efficacy as moderating variables. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, involving 300 students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the State University of Makassar, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The research findings indicate that financial literacy and financial attitudes have a significant influence on locus of control and financial behavior. In contrast, digital financial literacy and hedonistic lifestyle do not have a significant effect on either locus of control or financial behavior. Locus of control significantly affects financial behavior and moderates the relationships between financial literacy and financial attitudes on financial behavior. Conversely, self-efficacy does not have a significant impact on financial behavior and does not function as a moderating variable. These findings indicate that internal control is a more efficient psychological mechanism than self-confidence alone in influencing students’ financial behavior. The implications of this research highlight the importance of enhancing financial literacy and attitudes that synergize with the development of self-control in financial education programs at universities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of leadership style on employee performance in Kembang Janggut District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This study uses a quantitative research method with a sample of 43 people by collecting data through direct observation and filling out questionnaires measured using a Likert scale. To analyze the data, a simple linear regression test was used with a significance level of 5% through the SPSS version 30 application. The results of data processing and hypothesis testing empirically prove that Employee Performance is significantly influenced by Leadership Style. This conclusion is based on the results of the t test which shows the t count value exceeds the t table (8.112 > 2.019) with a valid significance value (0.001 < 0.05). The causal relationship between these variables is described through the regression formula Y = 11301.050 + 0.481X. Through testing the coefficient of determination, an R Square value of 0.616 was obtained. These results indicate that the contribution or contribution of the influence of the Leadership Style variable (X) on Employee Performance (Y) is 61.6%. The remaining 38.4% is explained by variables outside the focus of this study. Recommendations from this study include increasing the authority given to employees in carrying out their duties and making independent decisions so that they are not dependent on the physical presence of the sub-district head, and introducing a reward system for employees to transform employee integrity into professional commitment to improve public service delivery for the people of Kembang Janggut Sub-district.

Abstract

The development of teaching competence among Office Administration students is essential because prospective educators must be able to transform theoretical knowledge into effective, confident, and reflective teaching practice. This study aims to analyze peer teaching as a practice-based learning strategy for developing teaching competence among Office Administration students. The study was conducted in the Office Administration Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia, using a descriptive quantitative research design. The participants consisted of 11 undergraduate students who were involved in peer teaching activities as part of the learning process. Data were collected through structured performance assessment based on several components, including participation, teaching device preparation, first teaching performance, second teaching performance, and final mastery. The findings show that peer teaching provides a meaningful learning experience that enables students to strengthen their participation, prepare teaching devices, practice instructional delivery, communicate learning materials, and build confidence in teaching situations. The overall mastery score indicates that students’ teaching competence was generally in the good to excellent category. The highest achievement was found in the participation and teaching device aspects, while the first teaching performance aspect showed the lowest score, indicating the need for more intensive guidance in confidence, classroom opening skills, communication clarity, classroom management, and nervousness control. These findings suggest that peer teaching is not merely an assessment activity but also a reflective learning process that supports students’ pedagogical readiness through direct practice, feedback, observation, and improvement. This study contributes to teacher education literature by emphasizing the relevance of peer teaching in developing teaching competence within Office Administration education.

Abstract

Nighttime traffic accidents on rural mountain roads remain a major transportation safety issue, particularly in areas with limited lighting infrastructure and extreme topographic conditions. Roads located in mountainous regions of Enrekang Regency are characterized by sharp curves, steep slopes, roadside cliffs, dense vegetation, and the absence of street lighting, which significantly reduce driver visibility and increase accident risk during nighttime driving. This study aims to identify nighttime road safety hazards, assess risk levels using an ISO 39001 based approach, evaluate the relationship between visibility and accident risk, and develop mitigation strategies through the integration of photovoltaic lighting and retroreflective Scotchlite systems. The research employed a Risk Based Road Safety Assessment approach combining Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), likelihood and severity matrix analysis, and visibility engineering. Primary data were collected through field observations, illuminance measurements using a lux meter, and evaluation of detection distance, recognition distance, and stopping sight distance (SSD). The results indicate that the existing illuminance level ranged from 1.8-3.4 lux, while recognition distance was only 8-14 m, far below the required SSD of 34.65 m at an operational speed of 40 km/h. Risk assessment results classified several hazards, including lack of street lighting, sharp curves adjacent to cliffs, shadow areas, and low recognition distance, into high and extreme risk categories. The findings demonstrate that limited nighttime visibility significantly contributes to unsafe driving conditions on mountainous rural roads. Furthermore, the integration of photovoltaic based lighting and Scotchlite retroreflective materials is considered technically feasible as a sustainable risk mitigation strategy to improve active and passive visibility in areas lacking electrical grid infrastructure. This study contributes to the development of road traffic safety risk management frameworks for mountainous rural roads using renewable energy and visibility based safety engineering approaches.

Abstract

The second-hand fashion market has experienced fluctuating trends over the years and has been accompanied by increasing impulse buying tendencies, particularly among young consumers visiting second-hand clothing stores. Impulse buying is no longer solely influenced by economic motives but is increasingly shaped by shopping experiences and service environments. This study aims to examine the effect of green servicescape on impulse buying through the mediating role of positive emotion. The green servicescape construct consists of three dimensions: environmental concern, atmosphere, and human. This study employed an explanatory research design involving customers of second-hand clothing stores in Makassar City. A total of 267 respondents were selected using purposive sampling techniques, and the data were analyzed using WarpPLS 7.0. The results indicate that green servicescape positively affects positive emotion, which subsequently influences impulse buying. Furthermore, positive emotion mediates the relationship between green servicescape and impulse buying. These findings highlight the importance of sustainability-oriented service environments in shaping consumers’ emotional experiences and influencing impulse buying in the second-hand fashion market.
