Abstract

This research is motivated by the crucial role of mathematics in human development and the significant challenges faced in mathematics education. The research problem is the low quality of mathematics learning outcomes and the need to improve PSA and self-regulation among students. The purpose of the study was to improve students' Problem-Solving Ability (PSA) through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based on their level of self-regulation. The research design is quantitative quasi-experimental research using a 2 x 2 factorial-level design. The population is 430 seventh-grade students from 1st State High School 1 Langke Rembong. Data analysis using a two-way ANOVA. The results showed that PBL had a positive impact on PSA. In addition, the interaction between learning models and self-regulation significantly affects PSA. These findings have implications for classroom practice, proving the importance of applying PBL to improve PSA and the need to develop student self-regulation. The research also highlights the importance of collaboration between PBL and conventional teaching to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media based on blogs with the context of covers on lines and angles material using the PMRI approach which was valid, practical and has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts in class VII students of SMP LTI IGM Palembang. The research method used was the development research method using the Tessmer flow (1993) which consists of the preliminary stage (preparation and design stages) and the formative evaluation stage, namely self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group and field tests). Data collection was carried out using validation sheets, questionnaires, interviews and tests. From the results of the study it was concluded that the blog-based mathematics learning media developed was qualitatively valid in terms of comments and suggestions from the validator, besides that quantitatively the percentage of validity was 4.129 and practically both qualitatively and quantitatively by looking at the comments and suggestions it was stated that blog-based learning media was practically used and the result of the analysis of the practical average of the questionnaire calculation is 76.263. Then the results of a high potential effect on students' conceptual understanding abilities with an average of 82.033.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Plus Al Ittihad Cianjur kelas VII A dan VII J semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang bergender laki–laki dan perempuan sebagai sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan numerasi matematis siswa SMP pada materi aritmetika sosial laki-laki lebih baik dari pada perempuan. Hal itu terlihat bahwa siswa laki-laki lebih dominan dilevel Cakap, dan siswa perempuan dominan pada level Perlu Intervensi Khusus. Berdasarkan indikator kemampuan numerasi, siswa laki-laki lebih unggul pada indikator menggunakan berbagai macam angka dan simbol yang terkait dengan matematika dasar untuk memecahkan masalah dalam berbagai macam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari, dan indikator menganalisis informasi yang ditampilkan.

Abstract

It's a challenges to learn algebra at the faculty of informatics in Sorong, Papua Barat, Indonesia. This suggested learning materials that were engaging and interactive and focused on practical skills. Algebra courses at times assign online digital video projects as a learning strategy. In this study, the skills of students in video-projects along with additional online, digital assignments pertaining to algebra were observed, examined, and determined. The ICSDR (Identify, Conceptualize/Connect, Storyboard, Develop, Review/Reflect, and Refine) methodology was utilized as the framework for a digital online video production. The ICSDR methodology makes algebraic content interactive for education and helps students in understanding the idea of online digital video projects. This study employed a hybrid approach, including project-based learning , descriptive theoretical-practical evaluation, and subjectively analysis. As a result, students are passionate about using applications for producing movies and working on assignments such as online digital video projects. This increased skills and experience in terms of video processing and video editing. Results from the subjective video evaluation were fairly good in terms of concepts, creativities, theories, and problem solving as practice questions. Keywords: e-learning, digital video, ICSDR, project-based learning

Abstract

Abstrak Kemajuan teknologi yang pesat memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pembelajaran di sekolah. Bahan ajar merupakan komponen penting dalam proses belajar mengajar. Bahan ajar yang ideal adalah bahan ajar yang dapat memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam memahami materi yang diajarkan dengan memanfatkan berbagai kecanggihan yang ada, serta dikemas dengan tampilan yang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan dan hasil pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis aplikasi android berbantuan 3D Pageflip Professional pada materi transformasi geometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model prosedural yaitu model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima langkah, yaitu Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluated. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket validasi produk, dan angket respon user (pengguna). Subjek dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini meliputi validator ahli bahan ajar, dan 23 peserta didik kelas IX di SMP NU Pakis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan melalui wawancara, secara garis besar meraka menyukai pembelajaran yang menggunakan bahan ajar elektronik. Sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa peserta didik membutuhkan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Hasil validasi produk kepada ahli bahan ajar, diperoleh skor 3,3 dengan kesimpulan akhir yaitu bahan ajar yang dibuat telah valid dan dapat digunakan. Pada hasil uji coba yang melibatkan 23 peserta didik, diperoleh rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 3,52 dengan kesimpulan akhir yaitu bahan ajar dinyatakan valid dan dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: pengembangan bahan ajar, aplikasi android, materi transformasi geometriAbstractRapid technological advances have had a significant impact on learning in schools. Teaching materials are an important component in the teaching and learning process. Ideal teaching materials are teaching materials that can facilitate students in understanding the material being taught by utilizing various existing advances and are packaged with a pleasant appearance. This research aims to describe the development process and development results of teaching materials based on the Android application assisted by 3D Pageflip Professional on geometric transformation material. This research is development research with a procedural model, namely the ADDIE model which consists of five steps, namely Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluated. The instruments used are product validation questionnaires and user response questionnaires. The subjects in this research and development included expert validators of teaching materials and 23 class IX students at NU Pakis Middle School. Based on the results of the needs analysis conducted through interviews, in general, they like learning that uses electronic teaching materials. So it can be concluded that students need developed teaching materials. The results of product validation with teaching materials experts obtained a score of 3.3 with the conclusion that the teaching materials created are valid and can be used. Based on the results of trials involving 23 students, an overall average of 3.52 was obtained with the conclusion being that the teaching materials were declared valid and could be used in the learning process.Keywords: development teaching materials, Android applications, geometric transformation materials

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the types of error and the causes of student error in solve math story questions on the subject matter of systems of linear inequalities based on Newman's Error Analysis (NEA). The linear inequalities system material was chosen for this study because the linear inequalities system has components that students must understand so they can easily determine the error made by student. This study is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were taken using a purposive sampling technique and obtained 10 students in the 5th semester of math education study program, Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang. This research was divided into three stage, namely the preparation of research instrument, implementation and colection of data study and data analysis. The instrument used in this research is a description of 3 questions. Based on data analysis, the factor that led to student error in solve math story question on the subject matter of the system of linear inequalities based on NEA were inaccurate, unable to read questions, unable to understand the question, and unable to carry out procedure or steps that would used to problem solving. This study contributes to providing information on errors that are commonly made by student in solve math story questions on the subject matter system linear inequalities based on NEA.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa melalui penggunaan metode pembelajaran Student Created Case Studies (SCCS) pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Utara pada tahun ajaran 2023-2024 semester ganjil. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Utara dengan jumlah total 25 orang terdiri atas 14 orang siswa laki-laki dan 11 orang siswa Perempuan. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru, lembar pengamatan aktivitas siswa dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Prosedur penelitian meliputi dua siklus yang setiap siklusnya terdiri dari; rencana, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi.Hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru yang mencapai kategori baik dan sangat baik meningkat dari 66,67% menjadi 88,10%. Selanjutnya hasil pengamatan aktivitas siswa yang mencapai kategori baik dan sangat baik meningkat dari 55,88% menjadi 85,29%. Adapun hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 64% menjadi 84%. Semua aspek telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan pada siklus II melalui penggunaan metode Student Created Case Studies (SCCS).Kata Kunci: Student Created Case Studies (SCCS), Pemecahan Masalah Matematika, Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses, kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan pengembangan pada modul dengan berbasis model CORE dan problem solving polya untuk meningkatkan self regulated learning dan critical thinking. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pengembangan (RnD) dengan metode ADDIE (Analys, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil kevalidan pada proses pengembangan dari aspek materi, aspek media, dan aspek bahasa dinyatakan sangat valid. Selanjutnya, pada kepraktisan mendapatkan kriteria sangat praktis sedangkan pada keefektifan modul yang dikembangkan dikatakan efektif karena nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibandingkan nilai N-gain kelas kontrol. Peningkatan pada self regulated learning sebesar 16% dan peningkatan pada critical thinking sebesar 48,3%.

Abstract

The demands of high school education are not only increasingly complex and difficult subject content, students are also required to be able to think critically and reason in solving everyday problems. This mathematical ability is known as mathematical literacy proficiency. This is where the teacher's role as a facilitator who provides stimulus in the form of learning strategies, guidance and assistance when students experience learning difficulties is a key factor. For this reason, students as prospective mathematics teachers need to have good mathematical literacy skills and knowledge and skills to guide students to achieve 21st century abilities and skills. This research was conducted to apply a STEM approach in learning so that students can improve the mathematical literacy skills of students majoring in Mathematics Education as prospective teachers and introduce and equip them with knowledge about STEM. The research was carried out using problems related to the relationship between mathematics and digital images in STEM. Data is collected through tests and assessments of student activities that integrate STEM in solving problems. The research results show that digital images have the potential to help students understand mathematical concepts in various fields, especially computer graphics. Students' literacy skills also increased significantly at the significance level α = 0.05. Students' mathematical literacy proficiency level increased from 90% at maximum level 1 to 90% at minimum level 5

Abstract

AbstrakMatematika merupakan ilmu dasar pengetahuan yang mempunyai pengaruh cukup besar dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah tidak dapat dipisahkan ketika belajar matematika. Salah satu soal yang dapat mengasah kemampuan pemecahan masalah yaitu soal dalam bentuk cerita. Soal cerita dirancang untuk menguji pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep matematika, kemampuan mereka dalam merumuskan dan menyelesaikan masalah, serta melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Selain itu, kemampuan koneksi matematis penting untuk menilai kemampuan siswa dalam mengaplikasikan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dengan sampel siswa kelas 9 MTS AL Fadliliyah Darussalam Ciamis. Indikator pemecahan masalah menggunakan IDEAL problem solving dan indikator koneksi matematis dari NCTM (2000). Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu, terdapat 10 siswa yang dapat mengerjakan soal dengan tepat dan 12 siswa tidak tepat, dari total siswa 22. Siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan problem solving yang tinggi memiliki hasil yang tepat, namun siswa yang memiliki kemampuan rendah mendapatkan hasil tidak tepat. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa tidak terbiasa mendapatkan soal problem solving dan siswa tidak dapat mengkoneksikan dengan materi lain.Kata kunci: IDEAL problem solving, pemecahan masalah, bangun datar, koneksi matematis
