Abstract

Abstract: Synthesis of glutaraldehyde cross-linked chitosan (chitosan-GA) has been done and characterized by using FTIR and TGA. Adsorption of Fe(III) ion by glutaraldehyde cross-linked chitosan (chitosan-GA) has been studied by using batch method. The objectives of this research are to know optimum adsorption condition of Fe(III) ion by chitosan-GA, then study influence of Cu(II) ion to adsorption of Fe(III) ion and its application to vetiver oil. Optimum conditions are finding out by response surface Box Behnken method. Percent adsorption value of Fe(III) ion by Chitosan-GA (DD = 78%) is about 91,8439% in optimum conditions : weight adsorbent 0,75 gram, temperature 25oC, time contact 360 minutes. Percent adsorption of Fe(III) ion was decreased from 91,9521% to 79,724% because the existence of Cu(II) ion. The color of vetiver oil was changed from dark to reddish brown.Abstrak: Kitosan bertaut silang glutaraldehida (kitosan-GA) disintesis dan dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan FTIR dan TGA. Adsorpsi ion Fe(III) oleh kitosan-GA telah dipelajari dengan menggunakan metoda Batch. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi optimum dari adsorpsi ion Fe(III) oleh kitosan-GA, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan mempelajari pengaruh ion Cu (II) terhadap adsorpsi Fe(III) dan aplikasinya pada minyak akar wangi. Optimasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode respon permukaan desain Box Behnken. Serpih kitosan-GA dengan derajat deasetilisasi 78% mempunyai persen adsorpsi terhadap ion Fe(III) sebesar 91,9521% pada kondisi optimum: bobot adsorben 0,75 gram, suhu 25oC, dan waktu kotak 360 menit. Persen adsorpsi ion Fe(III) yang awalnya 91,9521% mengalami penurunan menjadi 79,7244% akibat adanya ion Cu(II). Minyak akar wangi yang awalnya berwarna gelap kemudian berubah menjadi cokelat kemerahan.

Abstract

Abstract: Development of Problem Solving Skills Test on the subject stoichiometry in solution has been performed to measure problem solving skills of high school students. Tests are established in a limited description of the type written test as many as ten item. Each test item consists of one main question and an eight step guide which is a troubleshooting step. The development of this test includes several major stages that are the literature study (document analysis), test development I, test I, test development II, test II and interviews. Tests fulfill the criteria as a good test viewed from a high theoretical validity and reliability. Some items of the test have a high empirical validity and a level of difficulty is moderate of most items of the test, and a sufficient distinguishing features. Most respondents gave positive responses to tests of problem solving skills, but because the test of problem solving skills are rarely given by the teacher, then almost all respondents preferred the usual form of test.Keywords: Development, Test, Problem SolvingAbstrak: Pengembangan Tes Keterampilan Problem Solving pada Pokok Bahasan Stoikiometri Larutan telah dilakukan untuk mengukur keterampilan problem solving siswa SMA. Tes yang dikembangkan ini disusun dalam bentuk tes tertulis tipe uraian terbatas sebanyak sepuluh butir pokok uji. Setiap butir pokok uji terdiri dari satu soal utama dan delapan soal penuntun yang merupakan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah. Pengembangan tes ini meliputi beberapa tahap utama, yaitu studi literatur (analisis dokumen), pengembangan tes I, uji coba I, pengembangan tes II, serta uji coba II dan wawancara. Tes yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sebagai alat ukur yang baik dilihat dari validitas teoritis yang tinggi dan reliabilitas tes yang tinggi pula. Sebagian pokok uji pada tes ini memiliki validitas empiris yang tinggi dan sebagian besar pokok uji memiliki tingkat kesukaran yang sedang, serta daya pembeda yang cukup. Sebagian responden memberikan respon yang positif terhadap tes keterampilan problem solving yang dikembangkan, tetapi karena soal-soal seperti ini jarang diberikan oleh guru, maka hampir semua responden lebih menyukai bentuk ulangan yang biasa diberikan dibandingkan dengan tes keterampilan problem solving.Kata kunci: Pengembangan, Tes, Problem Solving

Abstract

Karies gigi merupakan masalah utama yang paling banyak dijumpai di rongga mulut. Penyakit ini dapat menyerang seluruh lapisan masyarakat dari berbagai kelompok usia dan ekonomi. Salah satu sebab terjadinya karies gigi adanya interaksi dengan mikroorganisme Streptococcus mutans. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri senyawa kimia ekstrak bunga cengkeh (Syzygium aromaticum) terhadap bakteri S. mutans. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode true experimental dengan posttest only with control group design. Sampel yang digunakan adalah bunga cengkeh. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol dan selanjutnya dilakukan vacum evaporator diperoleh bobot ekstrak sebanyak 33,1%. Hasil identifikasi senyawa kimia secara kualitatif ekstrak bunga cengkeh mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, terpenoid, dan fenolik. Aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar dengan mengukur zona bening yang terbentuk. Hasil uji konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) diperoleh konsentrasi 25% memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang baik. Selanjutnya pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dengan melihat zona diameter hambat, diperoleh sebesar 37 mm, dan amfisilin sebesar 28 mm. Ekstrak bunga cengkeh memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan ampisilin.

Abstract

Mitra yang terlibat dalam kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini adalah Pondok Pesantren YAPISA. Pondok Pesantren YAPISA merupakan suatu lembaga non-profit yang bergerak di bidang pendidikan. Lembaga ini masih memiliki permasalahan dalam hal bidang teknologi dan ekonomi. Masyarakat kelompok ini kami jadikan sebagaimitra untuk diberikan keterampilan membuat balsem stick jahe dengan harapan keterampilan ini mampu mengangkat masyarakat untuk berkarya dan menjadi masyarakat yang produktif sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi. Mitra yang melakukan program ini adalah para santri dan guru di lingkungan Pondok PesantrenYAPISA. Pelaksanaan program ini dilakukan melalui pelatihan keterampilan pembuatan balsem jahe stick untuk skala industri rumah tangga secara detail, kontinyu dan tuntas sampai dihasilkan produk balsem dengan kualitas yang baik. Selain itu, dilakukan pelatihan pengemasan dan pelabelan produk balsem dalam kemasan. Pelatihan dilanjutkan dengan pembinaan serta pendampingan mitra dalam memulai membuat toko online. Hasil program pemberdayaan masyarakat non produktif melalui keterampilan membuat balsem stick jahe ini adalah model pemberdayaan masyarakat, mencakup terbukanya wawasan masyarakat non-produktif mengenai peluang usaha pembuatan bal-sem, menghasilkan tenaga-tenaga terampil, menghasilkan produk balsem yang berkualitas baik dan siap untuk dipasarkan dan membuka peluang untuk direkomendasikan menjadi usaha kecil mandiri yang lebih potensial sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat yang berimbas pada peningkatan kesejahteraan. Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine the indirect effect of management service quality on learning achievement through student satisfaction. Management services include lecturer performance, academic services and infrastructure facilities. Testing the direct effect of management services on student achievement and on student satisfaction. Research data were taken from the population of active students of IIM Surakarta. The sample used was 342 students with Purposive sampling technique based on active students with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Data collection using questionnaires with structural equation model (SEM) analysis techniques. The results of the study based on the Direct Effect (path coefficient) table of direct hypothesis influence, show that lecturer performance and infrastructure have a positive and significant effect on student achievement and academic services have no significant effect on student achievement, management services have a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction. The result of the indirect hypothesis influence is that student satisfaction plays a role in mediating the effect of management services on student achievement. Where, H1, H2, H4, H5, H6, H7, H8, H9 and H10 are accepted and H3 is rejected.

Abstract

The use of synthetic plastics in everyday life has a negative impact but can be reduced in effect, if replaced with biodegradable plastics. Polymer biodegradation can occur because of microbiological infestation of the material. Microorganisms could produce various kinds of enzymes that can react with polymers. This study aims to study the effect of adding organic matter spearhead bacteria on the biodegradation rate in test samples with the help of Bacillus sp bacteria and the bacterium Pseudomonas sp. In this case, bioplastic samples were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and continued with quantitative analysis using gravimetric methods to determine biodegradation rates based on CO2 weight. The results of the characterization test study showed that the test sample containing cellulose is characterized by the presence of glycosidic -OH, -CH, and C-O functional groups. The determination of the rate of biodegradation gave the value of the rate constant microcrystalline cellulose as a positive control of 0.0489 day-1, Bioplastic A without inoculum addition of 0.0451 day-1 while Bioplastic A with the addition of inoculum by 0.0423 day-1 . Meanwhile, Bioplastic B without inoculum addition is 0.0254 day-1, and bioplastic B with inoculum addition is 0.0391 day-1.

Abstract

It's a challenges to learn algebra at the faculty of informatics in Sorong, Papua Barat, Indonesia. This suggested learning materials that were engaging and interactive and focused on practical skills. Algebra courses at times assign online digital video projects as a learning strategy. In this study, the skills of students in video-projects along with additional online, digital assignments pertaining to algebra were observed, examined, and determined. The ICSDR (Identify, Conceptualize/Connect, Storyboard, Develop, Review/Reflect, and Refine) methodology was utilized as the framework for a digital online video production. The ICSDR methodology makes algebraic content interactive for education and helps students in understanding the idea of online digital video projects. This study employed a hybrid approach, including project-based learning , descriptive theoretical-practical evaluation, and subjectively analysis. As a result, students are passionate about using applications for producing movies and working on assignments such as online digital video projects. This increased skills and experience in terms of video processing and video editing. Results from the subjective video evaluation were fairly good in terms of concepts, creativities, theories, and problem solving as practice questions. Keywords: e-learning, digital video, ICSDR, project-based learning

Abstract

This study aims to find the optimum conditions for the adsorption of Cr (VI) ion to the eugenol-silica gel composite as an adsorbent and to determine the adsorption parameters using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm model. The three optimization parameters analyzed were pH, contact time, and weight of the adsorbent of the eugenol-silica gel composite. The optimization experiment was designed using the Box Behnken Design Response Surface Methodology (RSM) on the MINITAB software. Then, the maximum adsorption capacity was evaluated using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equation model. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the adsorption process were the weight of the eugenol-silica gel composite adsorbent of 0.15 grams, contact time of 35 minutes and pH of 5. The adsorption process under these conditions was favorable because the RL obtained was 0.0297. The maximum absorption capacity of Cr (VI) was indicated by the qm value of 1.0328 mg/g, and the KF, KL, and n values ​​observed 0.7961, 1.0885 and 14.0056, respectively. Adsorption of Cr(VI) ion by eugenol-silica gel composite followed the Langmuir isotherm equation.

Abstract

Corn stalks are an agricultural waste that is commonly found in Indonesia. Corn stalks have a high enough cellulose content which has functional groups that can be used as biosorbents. This study aims to optimize the adsorption of corn stalk waste to mercury metal ions and then determine the adsorption capacity and adsorption constant of the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm model. This research begins with corn stalk preparation, delignification, characterization using FTIR and SEM, determination of optimization of biosorbent weight, pH of Hg solution, contact time, and concentration of Hg solution, then applied to mercury metal contamination waste. Optimization of the weight of biosorbent in the range 0.4-1.2 grams, pH of the Hg solution is 2-4, contact time is 60-120 minutes, and concentration of the Hg solution of 30-100 g/L with a solution volume of 50 mL. Furthermore, determination of mercury levels, manufacture of standard series, and testing using ICP-OES. Followed by the determination of Langmuir and Freundlich's adsorption isothermal model. The results of this study indicate that the optimum conditions for the adsorption process occur at the weight of the biosorbent 1.2 grams, pH of the Hg 3 solution, contact time of 90 minutes, and concentration of Hg solution of 40 ppb with a solution volume of 50 mL. The application of biosorbent to metal contamination waste with adsorbed Hg concentration obtained 27.5772 ppb in 50 mL of waste solution with an adsorption efficiency of 88.44%. In the determination of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, a match was found for Langmuir adsorption isothermals with an adsorption capacity of 0.00333 mg Hg/g biosorbent and b = 176.8256.

Abstract

Metal-organic framework (MOF) is a group of materials that can act as a photocatalyst to degrade dyes under visible light. This research aims to synthesize a new MOF material using iron metal (Fe) and the organic linker perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylate (PTC) via the solvothermal method, then characterize it using FTIR, XRD, DRS, and SEM-EDS, as well as its application in photodegradation of methylene blue dye by MOF Fe-PTC with the addition of H2O2 using a Box Behnken design. FTIR spectrum with absorption at a wave number of 572 cm-1 which identifies the presence of bonds between Fe and O. Solubility tests show that the material was difficult to dissolve in polar, semipolar, and nonpolar solvents. EDS Mapping which shows the presence of the Fe element with a weight percentage of 21.6%. The synthesized MOF Fe-PTC has a degree of crystallinity of 46.56% and an average crystal size of 50.9 nm with the highest diffraction peak at 2θ = 33.16°. DRS analysis shows that the MOF Fe-PTC has a bandgap energy of 1.93 eV with a maximum wavelength (lmax) of 638 nm. Characterization using SEM shows that the MOF Fe-PTC has a shape like a cylindrical tube. The optimum conditions obtained from photodegradation of methylene blue by MOF Fe-PTC with the addition of H2O2 under visible light irradiation of 250 W statistically are 1.35 mg for photocatalyst weight, 0.22 M for H2O2concentration, and 135 minutes for contact time.
