Abstract

This study aims to find out the perception of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teachers on the readiness to implement the Independent Curriculum at the junior high school level. The Independent Curriculum demands a change in the learning paradigm that emphasizes differentiated learning, diagnostic assessments, and strengthening student character through the Pancasila Student Profile. In this context, PJOK teachers have their own challenges in adjusting learning methods in accordance with the principles of this new curriculum. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with questionnaire instruments distributed to PJOK teachers in several public and private schools. The results of the study show that most teachers have a fairly good initial understanding of the basic principles of the Independent Curriculum, but still feel that they are not fully prepared in terms of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Factors that affect the unpreparedness include the lack of specific training, limited facilities, and suboptimal support from the school. These findings show the need to strengthen teacher capacity through more systematic training and more concrete policy support so that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in PJOK subjects can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to review the development of extreme sports, specifically skateboarding, in Subang Regency using a phenomenological approach. Skateboarding, as one of the extreme sports branches increasingly favored by the youth in Subang, shows significant growth despite facing various challenges such as limited facilities and insufficient government support. This research examines the role of the skateboarding community in enhancing public interest and participation, as well as the local government's support for the sport's development. Data were collected through observations and interviews with the skateboarding community, local government officials, and the general public. The results indicate that the skateboarding community actively promotes the sport through various activities and events, yet government support needs to be improved, particularly in providing facilities and structured training programs. This study recommends strengthening the synergy between the community and government to support the advancement of skateboarding in Subang Regency, enabling it to become a sport that contributes to recreational and competitive sports development in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teachers in implementing character education at private elementary schools in Cimahi City. Character education has become a central issue in education due to the moral decline among the younger generation. PJOK teachers play a strategic role in shaping students' character through physical activities that emphasize values such as discipline, sportsmanship, cooperation, and responsibility. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with two experienced PJOK teachers from private elementary schools in Cimahi. Data analysis was conducted thematically based on Miles and Huberman's framework, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that PJOK teachers integrate character values through modeling, group games, reflective discussions, and positive reinforcement. The main obstacles encountered include limited instructional time, lack of facilities, and students' low awareness of character values. In conclusion, PJOK learning plays a crucial role in holistic character development, and teachers' experiences can serve as valuable insights for prospective educators to implement effective character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of wrist flexibility and self-confidence on free throw performance in basketball among athletes of the Gotte Basketball Club. The method used was quantitative descriptive with a total sampling approach involving 12 athletes from KU 20. The research instruments consisted of a wrist flexibility test, a self-confidence questionnaire, and a free throw skill test. The results of simple linear regression analysis indicate that wrist flexibility has a significant influence on free throw performance with an R² value of 0.684 and a p-value of 0.0009. Meanwhile, self-confidence has a positive but non-significant influence (R² = 0.203; p-value = 0.141). Multiple regression analysis showed that both variables together explained 73% of the variation in free throw outcomes, but only wrist flexibility remained significant (p = 0.0023). These findings indicate that wrist flexibility is the dominant factor in supporting free throw accuracy, while self-confidence has not yet shown a strong influence in the context of training. This study suggests that coaches should emphasize flexibility training and create training situations that stimulate psychological pressure to enhance athletes' self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine public perceptions of women participating in football, a sport that is still often viewed as deviating from traditional gender norms. The main focus of this research is to understand societal views regarding the presence of female athletes in the field of football and to identify the factors that influence these perceptions, both internal aspects such as knowledge, attitudes, and prejudice, as well as external aspects such as cultural and media influences. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, conducted in Cipada Village, Cikalongwetan District. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations involving informants such as football coaches, parents of female players, and members of the general public. The findings reveal that although there is growing support from certain segments of the community, negative perceptions still persist, reflecting the deep-rooted gender stereotypes regarding women's roles in sports. This study is expected to contribute scientifically to the promotion of gender equality and the enhancement of social acceptance of women's participation in football.
