Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of education level and access to information on community participation in the 2024 General Election in Makassar City. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of residents in Tamalanrea, Biringkanaya, Bontoala, and Tallo Districts, with a sample of 81 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that education level has a significant effect on community participation in the 2024 General Election, as evidenced by a t-test significance value of 0.003. Access to information also shows a significant effect on community participation, with a t-test significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, education level and access to information significantly influence community participation, as indicated by the F-test significance value of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.438 shows that education level and access to information explain 43.8% of the variation in community participation, while the remaining 56.2% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that improving the quality of education and ensuring equitable access to information play an important role in encouraging more active and meaningful community participation in democratic processes, particularly in general elections.

Abstract

The study of the sources of Islamic law is a crucial aspect in understanding the normative construction and the dynamics of its application amid complex social changes. This article aims to comprehensively elaborate on the four classical primary sources of Islamic law—namely the Qur’an, Sunnah, Ijma‘ (consensus), and Qiyas (analogical reasoning)—and to examine their epistemological relevance in contemporary contexts. The research employs a qualitative method with a library-based approach, focusing on critical analysis of both classical and modern literature concerning the epistemology of Islamic law. The findings indicate that the epistemological structure of Islamic law is dynamic, open to the process of ijtihad (independent reasoning), and capable of adapting to evolving social realities. In contemporary settings, challenges such as globalization, legal pluralism, and scientific advancement demand a reinterpretation of Islamic legal sources through interdisciplinary approaches. The study also identifies a methodological gap in Islamic legal studies, particularly in integrating maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah (objectives of Islamic law) with modern social sciences. Therefore, a new paradigm is needed to bridge the normative Islamic tradition with the needs of modern society, aiming to produce Islamic legal formulations that are more responsive, contextual, and oriented toward public welfare. This study is expected to enrich the discourse on the epistemology of Islamic law and encourage the development of more inclusive and transformative methodologies.

Abstract

The digital era fundamentally changed Human Resource Management (HRM) in the field of education, demanding a new paradigm that integrates mastery of technology with spiritual and moral integrity. This study aims to analyze Islamic Education Human Resources Management in the Digital Era through the Integration of Digital Literacy and Quranic Ethics. This study uses the library research method, the results of the study show that effective educational resources in the digital era must shift from traditional administration to adaptive and ethical competency development. AI and Big Data demand not only technical skills, but also AI literacy to ensure critical, responsible, and ethical use, as well as reduce potential data bias. Furthermore, the integration of Islamic values such as trust, justice, and strong morals is central in creating a holistic learning environment. The recommended strategies include systematically increasing teacher capacity in digital leadership and a technology-integrated curriculum that remains firmly rooted in moral and spiritual principles derived from the Qur'an. This holistic approach is crucial to produce a competent and ethical generation, capable of competing globally while maintaining an Islamic identity.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in performance management systems has transformed how organizations evaluate and enhance employee performance. However, empirical evidence on how AI-driven performance management improves employee productivity across diverse industrial sectors remains limited, particularly in emerging economies such as Indonesia. This study aims to examine the effect of AI-driven performance management on employee productivity, with job crafting serving as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative explanatory survey design, data were collected from 170 employees across multiple industries in Indonesia that have implemented AI-based performance management systems. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that AI-driven performance management has a positive and significant direct effect on employee productivity. Additionally, AI-driven performance management significantly enhances job crafting behaviors, which in turn positively influence employee productivity. Mediation analysis confirms that job crafting partially mediates the relationship between AI-driven performance management and employee productivity. These findings suggest that the productivity-enhancing potential of AI-based performance management is strengthened when employees are enabled to proactively redesign their work. This study contributes to the literature on technology-driven human resource management and provides practical insights for organizations seeking to integrate AI systems with employee-centered work practices.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how fiscal decentralization can be effective in East Lampung Regency during the 2020-2024 fiscal years using the indicator and regional financial ratio approach method. This research examines regional fiscal autonomy, government transfer efficiency, and the management of Regional Original Revenue (PAD). The research is a quantitative descriptive study where secondary data will be obtained as represented by the East Lampung Regency Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) Realization Report for the relevant period. The research results show that the average fiscal independence index (IKF) is only 8.13%, which indicates significant dependence on central transfer funds. Similarly, the Fiscal Decentralization Level (DDF) is only 8.2, indicating that the region has low fiscal capacity. Comparing regional revenue performance shows that it significantly decreased in 2024 compared to 2020 (from 102.93% to 36.04%). Although the quality of government transfers is relatively high (97% to 99%), these funds are not sufficient to compensate for the deteriorating local revenue sources. Additionally, there was an overall average decline in capital expenditure of -14.2% per year, indicating that fiscal policy is still characterized by normal business spending rather than development-oriented investment. In conclusion, fiscal decentralization in East Lampung Regency has not yet met the desired goals within the broader scope of regional autonomy. Local fiscal performance still relies on central transfer funds, and the potential for local revenue has not been fully utilized. This paper suggests reforms in local revenue management, strengthening fiscal institutional capacity, and performance-based budgeting to enhance local fiscal autonomy.

Abstract

The development of social media has changed people's communication patterns to be more participatory, dialogical, and full of emotional expressions. YouTube, as one of the digital public spaces, provides a comment column that allows netizens to openly express their attitudes, feelings, and judgments towards the content consumed. This study aims to describe and analyze the form and function of expressive speech used by netizens in the comment column of the YouTube video "Isa Bajaj" on Deddy Corbuzier's channel. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data in the form of 500 purposively selected netizens' comments. Data analysis was carried out by referring to John R. Searle's speech theory of actions, especially the category of expressive speech actions. The results showed that there were seven types of expressive speech, namely positive praise/appreciation (29.0%), criticism/disapproval (24.0%), expressions of gratitude/gratitude (16.0%), expressions of anger or negative emotions (14.0%), empathy/compassion (8.0%), regret/apology (5.0%), and hope/prayer (4.0%). The dominance of praise and criticism shows the high emotional and evaluative involvement of netizens in the content of the personal narrative presented. These findings confirm that YouTube's comment column serves as a space for public emotional expression that represents the collective psychological condition of netizens. This research contributes to enriching the study of digital pragmatics by placing expressive speech as a reflection of emotional dynamics, empathy, and moral reflection in social media communication.

Abstract

Young people play a strategic role in sustaining Pancasila values and the quality of democratic life in Indonesia, yet they face serious challenges due to globalization, technological disruption, and shifting social values. This article aims to analyze Pancasila-based youth development from a civic education perspective by positioning Pancasila as a foundational value, ethical orientation, and guideline for social praxis. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of relevant books, research findings, and scholarly journal articles. The findings indicate that youth development should be understood as an integrated process involving civic education, youth social organizations, community environments, and digital spaces, with participatory and reflective approaches as key mechanisms for internalizing Pancasila values. Adaptive youth development that remains grounded in Pancasila values contributes to the formation of character, leadership, and social responsibility among young people. This article highlights the importance of cross-sectoral synergy in fostering a Pancasila-oriented young generation committed to unity and social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan Denai District within the framework of smart city development. The research focuses on identifying the patterns of digital platform adoption, the challenges faced by MSME actors, and the implications for local economic transformation. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving MSME actors, local government representatives, and related stakeholders. The findings reveal that digital platform adoption among MSMEs is primarily concentrated on marketing activities through social media and online marketplaces, while the use of digital technology for financial management, inventory control, and data-driven decision-making remains limited. Constraints such as low digital literacy, limited access to continuous training, and insufficient institutional support hinder deeper digital integration. Although basic digital infrastructure is available, its utilization has not been optimized to support MSME productivity and competitiveness. The study concludes that smart city implementation in Medan Denai has not yet fully empowered MSMEs as key actors in the digital economy. Therefore, a more inclusive and MSME-centered smart city strategy is required, emphasizing sustained capacity building, integrated digital systems, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen local economic resilience.

Abstract

This research examines communication experiences of foreign nationals as a medium of cultural adaptation at Easton Park Apartment Jatinangor, a local residential facility not designed for international communities. Employing Alfred Schutz's social phenomenology approach emphasizing subjective meaning construction within the everyday lifeworld, data were collected through in-depth interviews with six informants from England, Kenya, Ethiopia, Pakistan, China, and Bangladesh, complemented by observation and documentation. Data analysis followed Creswell's phenomenological stages including horizontalization, theme formation, textural-structural description, and identification of experience essence. Findings reveal that awareness of differences emerges through language barriers, communication style variations, and unfamiliar social norms, which informants interpret as challenges triggering active learning through translation technology, smiles as universal language, independent Indonesian language learning, and participation in local cultural practices. Indonesian hospitality serves as a crucial factor reducing alienation, while mutual understanding occurs through gradual meaning negotiation. Intersubjectivity primarily forms in spaces such as mosques, churches, markets, and food stalls rather than within apartments whose individualistic structure inhibits spontaneous interaction.
