Abstract

This study examines the meaning of the word al-hawā  in the Qur'an, the perspective of Tafsir Fi Zhilalil Qur'an by Sayyid Quthb and its relevance to Adultery. The phrase al-hawā  is one of the important terms in the Qur'an that has various meanings and moral implications in human life. In the Qur'an, al-hawā is not only understood as a desire or impulse of the soul, but also as an inner tendency that if not controlled can drag people to moral deviations, including adultery. This study aims to analyze Sayyid Quthb's interpretation of the pronunciation of al-hawā, understand its implications on human behavior, and explain its relevance to the phenomenon of Adultery in the moral and spiritual perspective of Islam. This research is a library research with a qualitative approach and thematic method (maudhu'i). The primary data source is Tafsir Fi Zhilalil Qur'an by Sayyid Quthb, while secondary data sources come from relevant tafsir books, books, and scientific literature. The data analysis technique was carried out through descriptive-analytical analysis of the verses of the Qur'an that contain the utterance of al-hawā. The results of the study show that Sayyid Quthb interprets al-hawā  as the desire of the soul that tends to drive people to transgressions, acts beyond the limits, and disobedience. According to him, following the hawā of lust is the root of moral and civilizational damage, when hawā is used as a standard of truth instead of revelation, injustice, moral deviation, and the destruction of the social order are born. Its relevance to Adultery lies in the view that it is a manifestation of the domination of lust over faith and reason. Therefore, controlling the desires of lust by structurally improving the order of life can prevent the occurrence of adultery.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning (SRL) is a crucial competency for students in the 21st century, enabling learners to plan, monitor, regulate, and reflect on their own learning processes. However, many junior high school students still experience difficulties in developing strong self-regulation skills. This study aims to examine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students’ self-regulated learning tendencies. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a one-group posttest-only design. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Telaga Biru during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, involving 60 seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a self-regulated learning questionnaire based on indicators of goal setting, learning strategies, self-monitoring, time and resource management, motivational control, and self-reflection. Data analysis was carried out using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, followed by a One-Sample t-Test for normally distributed data and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test for non-normally distributed data. The results showed that students’ SRL scores after the implementation of PBL integrated with AI were in the good to high category and significantly exceeded the predetermined reference value (p < 0.05). Strong tendencies were observed in the forethought, motivational belief, and self-reflection dimensions, while help-seeking and collaboration showed relatively lower scores. These findings indicate that PBL integrated with AI has a positive and significant effect on students’ self-regulated learning tendencies. The study concludes that integrating AI as pedagogical scaffolding within PBL can effectively support the development of self-regulated learning, provided that social interaction and collaborative learning are intentionally strengthened.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning in secondary schools is still often conducted using conventional methods, resulting in suboptimal student participation and learning motivation. The development of educational technology provides opportunities to create more interactive learning experiences, one of which is through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of AR-based learning in improving students learning motivation in PAI subjects at Vocational High School (SMK). This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design and purposive sampling technique. The research subject cosisted of 46 students divided into an experimental group (n = 21) and a control group (n = 25). Learning motivation was measured using a questionnaire based on the ARCS model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satifaction). Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics (Mean and N-Gain), and inferential statistics, including prerequisite tests, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, complemented by effect size analysis using cohen’s d. The result indicated a significant difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control groups after treatment (p < 0.0001) with a cohen’s d value of 1.767, indicating a large effect size. These findings suggest that AR-based learning is effective in enhancing students learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) Observe the policies of the Japanese Occupation Government in Surakarta in the political, socio-cultural and economic fields (2) Map the sites of the Japanese Occupation period in Surakarta for the development of historical tourism by prioritizing the value of education. This research uses a historical method, with the step of collecting data through the study of archives, documents and relevant previous research as well as related reference books; analyze sources to find the authenticity and credibility of sources; interpreting with political, sociological, and economic approaches to find the historical facts sought, and finally producing historiography about the Japanese occupation in Surakarta by mapping historical sites and tourism with educational content that can be scientifically accounted for. The results of the study show that (1), the Japanese Occupation Policy in Surakarta is top down, that is, it follows the policy of the Army government in Java by regulating local government. The government bureaucracy is territorial, from the highest to the lowest, held by indigenous people but with very strict supervision. In the social field, it is characterized by the loss of hierarchy based on race. In the field of culture and economy, Japan tried to Japaneseize but was not able to form its own culture, local culture was used to realize Japanese government programs, especially for the needs of winning wars; The economy is directed towards the war economy, so all economic activities are associated with the war victory effort. (2) There are not so many Japanese heritage sites in Surakarta, because of the Japanese colonial period which was only 3 1/2 years, but it left a deep impression. The impressions in question are related to Kenpei Tai, the recruitment of comfort women (Jugun Iyanfu), forced labor (romusya), poverty, the cruelty of the Japanese army and military training; Relics that can be mapped as educational tourism are such as: Kenpei Tai headquarters, MAPA Headquarters, street names, Japanese Caves, These relics can be packaged into tour packages that have educational value because there are values of strength, togetherness, unity, discipline and heroic spirit from the masses which are very valuable for Indonesia in the future.
