Abstract

This study explores the controversy surrounding the application of the death penalty to perpetrators of extraordinary crimes from the perspective of Pancasila, which upholds the principles of civilized justice. Although the death penalty is officially regulated in the Criminal Code and sectoral laws related to narcotics, terrorism, and corruption, its practice shows inconsistencies. The state strongly enforces the death penalty for drug and terrorism offenders but is more lenient toward corruption offenders, even though the law allows the death penalty under certain circumstances. This disparity raises concerns about potential abuse of power, violates the principle of equality before the law, and undermines public trust in the legal system. The research employs a qualitative method with a normative legal approach, analyzing laws and regulations, doctrines, court decisions, and relevant academic literature. The analysis is conducted descriptively and analytically, with Pancasila used as an evaluative framework. The findings emphasize the need for consistent application of the death penalty for all extraordinary crimes to ensure that the law upholds substantive justice. Using Pancasila as a benchmark, the state is expected to enforce the law in an equitable, accountable, and fair manner, so that the death penalty serves as an instrument of justice rather than a tool of power.

Abstract

The National Sports Week (Pekan Olahraga Nasional—PON) represents Indonesia’s highest multi-event sporting competition and serves as a benchmark for provincial sports performance development. This study analyzes the fluctuating competitive achievements of North Sumatra’s Wushu Sanda team at the 2012–2024 PON using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). Employing a descriptive qualitative research approach, the study involved officials of the sports association, coaches, and Wushu Sanda athletes from North Sumatra who were directly engaged in athlete development and PON participation. Data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and observation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by linking the research findings to the context, input, process, and product components of the CIPP framework. The findings indicate that, from the context perspective, North Sumatra’s Wushu Sanda occupies a strategic position as a leading regional sport with a strong tradition of achievement, yet faces intense national competition and psychological pressures during major events. From the input dimension, the availability of athletes, coaches, and institutional support is generally adequate; however, the quality of athlete readiness remains uneven, particularly in terms of mental resilience and competitive experience. From the process aspect, the effectiveness of athlete development programs emerges as a decisive factor in performance consistency, where inconsistencies in training programs, limited monitoring and evaluation, and the lack of integrated mental preparation negatively affect athlete readiness. From the product dimension, North Sumatra’s Wushu Sanda demonstrates consistent medal attainment across the 2012–2024 PON editions, yet has not achieved sustained optimal results, with its peak performance recorded at PON 2016. In conclusion, the competitive achievements of North Sumatra’s Wushu Sanda are the result of an integrated interaction among the context, input, and process components of athlete development. Strengthening the coherence and synergy of these three components is crucial to enhancing future performance outcomes of North Sumatra’s Wushu Sanda at the PON.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with Wamena local wisdom on elementary students’ learning outcomes and problem-solving skills. Integrating culturally relevant pedagogy into innovative learning models is expected to enhance meaningful learning, particularly in remote regions with strong local traditions. A quasi-experimental design employing a non-equivalent pretest–posttest control group was used. The participants were 112 fifth-grade students from two elementary schools in Wamena, Indonesia. Data were collected using learning outcome tests and problem-solving assessments and analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results indicate significant differences in learning outcomes and problem-solving skills between students taught using PjBL integrated with local wisdom and those taught using conventional learning models. Students in the PjBL group achieved higher scores in both dependent variables. These findings demonstrate that integrating local wisdom into project-based learning enhances students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities. This study contributes to elementary education literature by highlighting the pedagogical value of culturally contextualized project-based learning in improving learning quality in geographically and culturally distinctive regions.

Abstract

Gender equality is a global issue that continues to face challenges in its implementation across countries. School learning plays a strategic role in instilling the values of justice and equality from an early age. One such approach is through the subject of Social Studies. This article aims to examine how strengthening Social Studies learning through the integration of a global perspective on gender equality makes learning more relevant, contextual, and better able to foster critical awareness in students. This research uses a literature review. Data were obtained from various literature sources, including national and international journal articles and books related to Social Studies learning themes, gender equality, and global perspectives. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically by mapping the relationship between ten main Social Studies themes and gender equality issues in a global context. The results of the study indicate that gender equality can be integrated comprehensively into Social Studies subject themes, such as culture, history, environment, individual identity, social relations, power, economics, technology, global connections, and citizenship. The integration of a global perspective into Social Studies learning helps students understand gender equality as a cross-border, cross-cultural social issue. Thus, Social Studies learning plays a vital role in fostering inclusive, just, and responsible attitudes among global citizens.

Abstract

This study seeks to scrutinize the liability of notaries in relation to legal actions initiated by heirs excluded from the allocation of inheritance rights, as well as to assess the forms of legal protection available to the affected parties through normative legal inquiry. Employing a normative juridical methodology with a doctrinal literature approach, the research examines notarial liability in cases involving claims by omitted heirs in inheritance distribution. The analysis is conducted in a descriptive–analytical manner, drawing upon primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources to interpret prevailing legal norms and formulate conclusions. The findings indicate that (1) notarial liability arising from lawsuits filed by heirs excluded from the certificate of inheritance rights manifests as responsibility for deeds executed by the notary when errors result in losses, thereby constituting an unlawful act pursuant to Articles 1365 and 1366 of the Civil Code. Consequently, such deeds may be declared null and void, and the notary may incur civil liability in the form of compensation, reimbursement of expenses, and interest, in addition to administrative sanctions ranging from written admonitions to removal from office. Furthermore, legal protection for heirs not recorded in the inheritance deed may be pursued through both preventive and repressive legal mechanisms.

Abstract

Character development at the elementary school level has become an increasingly urgent issue due to growing moral challenges arising from social change and the expansion of digital technology. Empirical findings indicate that character education practices in elementary schools remain largely normative and have not yet fully supported deep value internalization among students. This study aims to examine character development in elementary school learning through a philosophy of science perspective, encompassing ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review using PRISMA guidelines, analyzing 22 relevant scholarly articles published between 2021 and 2025. The findings reveal that integrating the philosophy of science into elementary learning provides a strong conceptual foundation for character education, where values are not merely introduced as rules but are understood, interpreted, and practiced through reflective and contextual learning experiences. In conclusion, the philosophy of science perspective can function as a comprehensive pedagogical framework for character development in elementary school students.

Abstract

Learning theory has an important role in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, because it can provide a scientific basis for designing an effective learning experience. This research explores various learning theories, such as constructivism, behaviorism, and cognitivism, as well as their implications for PAI learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with the systematic literature review (SLR) method which examines various results of previous research related to the application of learning theory to PAI learning and its relevance to curriculum development. The analysis of the data needs of this SLR method is through steps, namely the identification step of the research focus and the screening  stage of various indexed journal articles using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study show that in general, cognitive theory emphasizes the cognitive structure of students. Thus, the subject matter delivered in PAI lessons can be adjusted to the ability of students, then in behaviorsime theory is seen as a process of behavior change as a result of the interaction between stimulus and response, this theory is very suitable for the development of children's behavior in order to strengthen the good habits that have been formed so that they do not disappear slowly,  while constructivistic learning, according to the author, is a learning process that involves a student who is required to learn actively, innovatively and have an independent and capable way of thinking in overcoming problems that the teacher gives based on their understanding and involves experience well.

Abstract

Studi ini meneliti sinergi antara kepemimpinan kepala desa dan keterlibatan pemuda dalam mendorong kesejahteraan ekonomi lokal melalui inisiatif Pasar KAMU di Desa Denai Lama. Meskipun pembangunan desa seringkali bergantung pada pendekatan struktural dari atas ke bawah, penelitian ini menyoroti model dari bawah ke atas yang mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs). Dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen, kemudian divalidasi menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Studi ini mengungkapkan tiga temuan utama: (1) Kepala desa mengadopsi gaya kepemimpinan partisipatif, berfungsi sebagai fasilitator daripada instruktur, memberikan legitimasi pada inisiatif masyarakat; (2) Pemuda bertindak sebagai wirausahawan sipil dan agen budaya, mengelola ekosistem pasar mulai dari zonasi hingga promosi digital; (3) Kolaborasi ini secara signifikan berdampak pada kesejahteraan lokal dengan menciptakan aliran pendapatan baru bagi 121 rumah tangga dan memperkuat kohesi sosial, secara langsung berkontribusi pada SDG 1, 8, dan 11. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa kolaborasi organik antara kepemimpinan adaptif dan peran pemuda sangat penting untuk pembangunan pedesaan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Studi ini menyelidiki tantangan dalam pengelasan logam berbeda, dengan fokus pada evaluasi mekanik dan mikrostruktur las antara material dengan sifat yang berbeda. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk menilai bagaimana perbedaan termal, mekanik, dan mikrostruktur memengaruhi kualitas las. Metodologi penelitian berbasis literatur digunakan, dengan memanfaatkan data primer dari jurnal, buku, dan makalah penelitian yang relevan, sementara data sekunder dikumpulkan dari laporan industri dan studi kasus. Teknik pengujian multimodal, termasuk SEM, EDX, XRD, dan pengujian tarik, digunakan untuk menganalisis sifat-sifat las. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya mengoptimalkan parameter pengelasan dan pemilihan material pengisi untuk meningkatkan kinerja dan daya tahan las, yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan aplikasi industri pengelasan logam berbeda.

Abstract

Character formation among elementary school students has become a crucial necessity amid the challenges of the digital era. Schools, families, and communities play a significant role in shaping children’s morality; therefore, a clear philosophical foundation is required to guide the process of character education. This study aims to examine the role of educational philosophy as a basis for the development of moral and ethical values in elementary school students through a review of recent literature. The method employed was a Systematic Literature Review of national and international articles published between 2022 and 2025, selected through the PRISMA stages. The findings indicate that character education is effective when moral values are integrated into the curriculum, teachers act as moral exemplars, active learning is implemented, and families as well as the school environment provide consistent support. Educational philosophy offers a conceptual direction that assists teachers in adjusting learning strategies to the students’ contextual conditions. In conclusion, character education becomes more meaningful when it is grounded in philosophical principles that emphasize values, reflection, and authentic learning experiences.
