The still limited systematic integration of environmental education into the learning process at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) level has the potential to cause low ecological awareness among children from the early stages of their development, even though early childhood is an important phase in character formation, including the development of environmentally caring attitudes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of an eco-education-based curriculum in fostering environmentally caring behavior among children aged 4–5 years at PAUD Permata Hati Bunda, West Kota Agung Subdistrict, Tanggamus Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 10 respondents consisting of the principal, teachers, and parents of the students. The results showed that the implementation of eco-education had been integrated into daily lesson planning, routine habituation activities, and teacher role modeling in daily activities at school. Through these various activities, children showed the development of environmentally friendly behavior, such as disposing of waste in its proper place, conserving water use, and caring for plants in the school environment. In addition, a process of transfer of learning to the family environment was found, as indicated by the beginning of the implementation of similar habits by children at home. Thus, the consistent implementation of an eco-education-based curriculum is able to foster environmentally caring character in early childhood and encourage the sustainable formation of environmentally friendly behavior through cooperation between schools and families.

Although the development of children aged 5–6 years is very significant, responsibility remains a relatively weak aspect and requires strengthening through appropriate learning strategies. This study aims to assess the contribution of the Nusa dan Rara animated videos in instilling a sense of responsibility in children aged 5–6 years. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 15 children at SPS Lemuru 88. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a deeper understanding of children’s behavior. The results showed that the use of the Nusa dan Rara animated videos had a positive impact on improving the value of responsibility in children. The children showed fairly significant behavioral changes, such as obeying rules during activities, becoming more independent, maintaining environmental cleanliness, putting toys away after use, and having the courage to admit mistakes. These changes indicate that children are able to recognize and imitate the positive behaviors displayed in the animated videos. These findings are in line with Bandura’s social learning theory, which emphasizes that children acquire knowledge through the processes of observing, imitating, and receiving reinforcement. This study concludes that the use of animated videos is an effective way to instill the value of responsibility in early childhood, especially when supported by teacher guidance and conducive learning conditions. The implications of this study underscore the importance of utilizing audio-visual media in learning to strengthen character education while opening opportunities for further research on the use of new media in instilling moral values in children.

The educational transformation of Society 5.0 has increasingly positioned machines as autonomous pedagogical agents, raising critical questions about the relationship between adab and algorithms in Islamic education. This study aimed to analyze the dialectic between these two constructs, address the literature gap concerning the ethical depletion risks associated with artificial intelligence, and examine the threat such developments pose to the sacredness of knowledge transmission in the Islamic tradition. More specifically, the study sought to deconstruct claims that machines can assume the role of the teacher while reaffirming the primacy of the human educator. Employing a descriptive-philosophical literature design, the study used purposive selection of authoritative works by Ashʿarī, al-Zarnūjī, al-Ghazālī, Ibn Khaldūn, and al-Ḥaddād, which were dialectically synthesized with 21 articles from reputable international journals published between 2021 and 2026 and verified through Scimago Journal Rank. The findings indicate that, ontologically, machines function only as pedagogical tools because they lack spirit and nafs, and therefore cannot form learners who require spiritual exemplarity (uswah). The study’s main theoretical contribution is the formulation of the Adab-Based Hybrid Authority (ABHA) model as a framework for integrating technology on the basis of moral-spiritual authority. The study concludes that within the digital educational ecosystem, machines should be repositioned as supporting instruments, while humans must remain the muʿaddib. This conclusion reinforces a human-centric paradigm in the philosophy of Islamic education and highlights the practical need to redefine the teacher’s role as a moral filter. The study therefore recommends redesigning teacher education curricula on the basis of digital ethics and identifies future research opportunities concerning the long-term psycho-spiritual impact of AI interaction in Islamic educational institutions.

This study was motivated by students’ low skills in writing descriptive texts, caused by difficulties in finding and developing ideas, limited collaborative activities, and the suboptimal use of engaging learning media. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Think Talk Write learning model combined with the Pinterest application on students’ ability to write descriptive texts. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, involving 30 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Medan selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected through writing tests at the pretest and posttest stages, which were assessed using a scoring rubric. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the mean and standard deviation, as well as through normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in the students’ mean score from 45.16 on the pretest to 80.16 on the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the calculated t value (10.726) was greater than the t table value (1.6972), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. This study concludes that the implementation of the Think Talk Write learning model assisted by the Pinterest application has a significant effect on improving students’ ability to write descriptive texts. These findings imply the importance of utilizing innovative technology-based learning models to improve students’ writing skills, activeness, and creativity in Indonesian language learning.

Low speaking ability remains a problem that is often found among lower-grade elementary school students, so more engaging and participatory learning methods are needed to improve this skill. This study aims to analyze the impact of the illustrated storytelling method on students’ speaking skills. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 30 second-grade students of SD Swasta Al-Washliyah Km. 6 who were divided into two groups, namely 15 students in the experimental group taught using the illustrated storytelling method and 15 students in the control group taught using the lecture method. Data were collected through observation and speaking skills tests, and were then analyzed through tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the storytelling method based on visual media had a significant effect on improving students’ speaking ability. This was indicated by the results of the independent sample t-test with a significance value of 0.035 (Sig. < 0.05) and the results of the paired sample t-test in the experimental class with a significance value of 0.011 (Sig. < 0.05), which indicate a significant improvement in students’ speaking ability before and after the implementation of the method. These findings show that the illustrated storytelling method can be an effective learning alternative for improving students’ speaking skills, particularly in Indonesian language learning in the lower grades of elementary school.

Although moral degradation in early childhood has received growing concern, studies specifically examining parental guidance through democratic parenting to optimize children’s religious and moral development remain limited, despite the substantial implications of this issue for children’s moral formation. This study aims to analyze parents’ guidance strategies through a democratic parenting style in optimizing the development of religious and moral values in children aged 5–6 years. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design involving samples drawn from three family types. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings indicate that a democratic guidance strategy characterized by two-way communication, the application of logical sanctions, and spiritual role modeling is able to support children in achieving a very good level of development. The study concludes that the synergy between democratic parenting at home and the use of audio-visual media in schools constitutes the most effective means of fostering children’s religious character intrinsically in the digital era. These findings contribute theoretically to the literature on the importance of parental guidance within democratic parenting for early childhood and provide practical implications for schools and parents in implementing effective mentoring strategies to cultivate a moral generation. In addition, the study opens opportunities for further research on the forms of guidance that teachers and parents can employ in shaping early childhood character.

This study was motivated by the still limited body of research on the assertive communication of working mothers in early childhood parenting, even though this phenomenon has a significant impact on children’s social-emotional development. This study aims to describe the assertive communication of working mothers and its impact on the social-emotional development of early childhood children. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving six working mothers who had early childhood children and were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the assertive communication of working mothers had been implemented, although not yet consistently, and had a positive impact on the social-emotional development of early childhood children. These findings are in line with the research objective and reinforce Vygotsky’s theory, which emphasizes the importance of social interaction in child development. The conclusion of this study affirms the importance of the assertive communication of working mothers in supporting the social-emotional development of early childhood children. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution in reinforcing the importance of parental communication for children’s social-emotional development, as well as a practical contribution in the form of the need for working mothers to apply parenting more consistently and to manage time and attention more optimally. This study also opens opportunities for further studies involving broader participants and using more comprehensive methods.

Although studies that specifically examine the development of early childhood critical thinking skills through context-based mathematics learning remain limited, this ability plays an important role in supporting cognitive development and learning readiness at the next level. This study aims to test and analyze the effect of implementing contextual mathematics learning on early childhood critical thinking skills. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 20 children in Group B at TK IGTKI-PGRI Harapan Bangsa Bonto Perak, Pangkep Regency, who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted from January to March 2026. Data were obtained through observation, critical thinking skills assessment sheets, and documentation of learning activities, and were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s critical thinking skills after the implementation of contextual mathematics learning, with the mean score increasing from 55.30 at the initial stage to 82.15 at the final stage. The statistical test results showed a calculated t value of 9.27 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000, which was lower than 0.05, indicating that the treatment given had a significant effect. These findings confirm that learning that connects material with children’s real-life experiences is effective in encouraging the development of higher-order thinking skills. Thus, this study contributes to enriching the literature on context-based mathematics learning in early childhood education and provides practical implications for educators to design learning that is relevant to children’s everyday experiences.

This study is motivated by the insufficient level of students’ cooperative skills in Pancasila Education at Class V UPT SDN 003 Muara Uwai, as reflected in weak communication, limited team contribution, and inadequate recognition of individual learning differences. To address this issue, the study implemented the team quiz learning model as an instructional strategy for improving students’ cooperative skills in learning the topic “My Country, Indonesia.” This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings and four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study involved 10 Class V students, comprising five boys and five girls. Data were collected through observation and documentation. The findings show that students’ cooperative skills increased from 30% before the intervention to 50% in the first cycle and further improved to 80% in the second cycle. These results indicate that the team quiz learning model effectively enhances students’ cooperative skills in Pancasila Education. The study contributes to elementary education practice by demonstrating that interactive, team-based learning can strengthen students’ communication, participation, and collaborative responsibility in civic learning contexts.
