Abstract

Mathematics is one of the compulsory subjects in formal education and has an essential role in the world of education. This research was conducted to determine the results of learning mathematics in students at STIKes Senior Medan online and offline. This study used a quasi-experiment using the comparative method. The number of samples used was from two classes and given two other learning treatments, namely online and offline. The samples used were 34 students for the odd school year 2020/2021 (online) and 39 for the bizarre school year 2021/2022 (offline). Then a normality and homogeneity test was carried out using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) application program to determine whether the data were normally distributed and had the same variance. The results of testing the hypothesis using the independent t-test sig (2-tailed) 0.048 <0.05, so that as a basis for decision making in the independent sample t-test, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, with a 95% confidence level, there is a significant (significant) difference between online learning UAS mathematics learning outcomes and offline learning UAS mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of different pedagogical exemplars for teaching mathematics across various learning styles using multimedia technology. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design. The experimental group received the intervention through an interactive computer presentation program, while the control group used the standard dialogue and discussion techniques. The study used survey questionnaires adapted from BARSCH's Learning Style Inventory and self-made pre-and post-tests to measure students' learning and engagement. The research findings revealed that students with different learning styles benefited differently from multimedia-assisted instruction, suggesting the importance of considering individual differences in instructional design. The use of multimedia technology in teaching mathematics facilitates the learning process of students with different learning styles. The results of this study also support the importance of using statistical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions and to inform evidence-based decision-making in education. This study identified the most effective pedagogical exemplars for each learning style and highlighted the benefits of interactive media teaching mathematics. These findings suggest that teaching methods that align with students' learning styles can improve academic performance

Abstract

In recent years, the transition from online to face-to-face education has become an issue that plagues many educators and parents. As the pandemic forced schools to close and switch to distance learning, students had to adapt to new ways of learning. However, the impact of this transition on student concentration and independence is still under study. This study aims to summarize recent findings on the impact of this transition on student concentration and independence. This study aims to collect data using survey and interview methods to determine students' attention and independence. Researchers created Likert scale questionnaires and interviews. The respondent is a primary school teacher from her 1st grade to her 5th grade at Binus School Simprug Jakarta. A total of 20 teachers interviewed her 15 male teachers and her 5 female teachers. The results showed that most students tend to stay focused and be more independent when learning onsite compared to learning online. However, more research is needed to fully understand the magnitude of these effects and how they can be mitigated in an online learning environment. Overall, this summary highlights the importance of considering the influence of the learning environment on student learning outcomes and the need for further research in this area.
