Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of differentiated Social Sciences and Science (IPAS) learning through initial diagnostic assessments under the Independent Curriculum framework at SDN Magetan 2. This field research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach with a field study design, gathering data through direct classroom observation, lesson plan analysis, and structured interviews with grade teachers. The evaluation utilized 15 comprehensive observation indicators covering document readiness, technological integration, local wisdom contextualization, assessment methods, and differentiation strategies. The results demonstrate that teachers at SDN Magetan 2 have designed teaching instruments systematically by modifying the government template to suit classroom characteristics based on diagnostic profiles (auditory, visual, and kinesthetic). Active student collaboration is fostered through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) integrated with deep learning models, supported by multimedia tools and local culture integration, such as the Sarangan tradition. Assessments are carried out comprehensively across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains using jobpartitioning strategies during group work. Differentiated instruction is successfully realized through peer tutoring for advanced learners and direct oral-guiding for slower learners. In conclusion, differentiated learning based on diagnostic assessments shapes meaningful, inclusive, and student-centered primary education.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is a crucial skill for elementary school students, enabling them to express mathematical ideas through writing, drawings, and symbols. However, in practice, this ability remains low; for instance, midterm exam results at a school in Karawang Regency fell far short of the ideal score. This study aimed to examine the mathematical communication ability profile of fifth-grade elementary school students in Gugus II Kecamatan Majalaya and to compare the performance of male and female students in solving mathematical communication tasks related to plane geometry. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, involving 78 fifth-grade students (41 boys and 37 girls). Data were collected using a descriptive test designed to measure mathematical communication skills across three aspects—written text, drawings, and mathematical expressions—after the instrument had undergone testing for validity, reliability, discriminating power, and difficulty level. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, specifically calculating the mean achievement scores based on a holistic scoring rubric. The results showed that male students achieved a higher average score (11.93) on the third measured indicator compared to female students (10.05). Nevertheless, both groups performed well below the study's ideal average score of 40 Keywords: gender, geometry, mathematical communication, primary school

Abstract

Short story writing is one of the essential competencies in Indonesian language learning because it fosters students' creativity, critical thinking, and language skills. However, the teaching of short story writing in schools still faces several challenges, including students' limited ability to develop ideas, organize plots, and apply appropriate language conventions. This study aimed to describe students' short story writing skills before and after the implementation of the chain writing method and to examine its effect on the short story writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 students selected from a population of 366 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through a short story writing test and classroom observations and were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results revealed that the mean pretest score was 45.30, which fell into the less skilled category, while the mean posttest score increased to 79.20, categorized as skilled. The hypothesis testing showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, the implementation of the chain writing method had a significant effect on the short story writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. These findings suggest that the chain writing method can serve as an effective collaborative learning strategy to improve students' short story writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on elementary school fifth-grade students' mathematical problem-solving skills in geometry concepts. The research employed a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population comprised all fifth-grade students at SDN Lebakmuncang 1. Using a purposive sampling technique, the sample consisted of class V A (25 students) as the experimental group and class V B (25 students) as the control group. The experimental group received instruction using the RME model, whereas the control group was taught using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. Data were collected using a 20-item essay test measuring Polya's four problem-solving indicators, supplemented by observation and documentation. Instrument testing included validity, KR-20 reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination power analyses. Pretest and posttest data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using prerequisite tests (Shapiro-Wilk normality and Levene's homogeneity) and hypothesis tests (Independent Samples t-Test or Mann-Whitney U-Test). Intervention effectiveness was calculated through N-Gain and Effect Size analyses using Cohen's d. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of the RME approach in improving mathematical problem-solving ability in elementary geometry education.

Abstract

Globalization and digital transformation have significantly reshaped educational systems, including Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. The increasingly rapid flow of cultural exchange has not only created opportunities for modernization but also generated challenges in the form of weakening local cultural identities due to the dominance of global values. In this context, Islamic educational institutions are required to preserve Islamic values and local wisdom while remaining relevant to contemporary developments. This study aims to analyze the resilience of Islamic educational institutions in maintaining local cultural identity amid the pressures of globalization. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method through the analysis of various literature related to globalization, Islamic education, digital transformation, and educational leadership. The findings reveal that the resilience of Islamic educational institutions should not merely be understood as the ability to survive, but rather as an adaptive and transformative capacity to selectively manage change. The main strategies identified include: (1) reconstructing curricula based on local wisdom as contextualized living values; (2) implementing ethically grounded digital transformation by positioning technology as a means (wasilah) for character building; and (3) strengthening transformational leadership with a glocal vision that integrates global perspectives with local values. Therefore, the resilience of Islamic educational institutions lies in their ability to critically negotiate cultural changes while preserving Islamic and Indonesian identities within the dynamics of globalization.

Abstract

Indonesian language instruction at SD requires appropriate models and media so that students' reading skills can develop to their full potential. One effective model is the Scramble model, which is combined with Canva media. The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of using the Scramble model with Canva media on students' ability to learn Indonesian in class II SD Negeri 3 Blang Mangat. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a pre-test, post-test control group design. Students in grade II SD Negeri 3 Blang Mangat make up the population and study sample. Data collection is done using the ability to read permulaan, while data analysis uses statistical methods to test hypotheses. The study's findings indicate that the experimental class's rata-rata posttest score of 88.05 is higher than the control class's score of 76.42. According to uji hipotesis, thitung > ttabel (4,381 > 1,687) based on the nilai thitung sebesar 4,381 and ttabel sebesar 1,687. If the 2-tailed Nilai Sig. is less than 0.000, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. As a result, there is a significant impact of using the Scramble model with Canva media on students' ability to learn Indonesian in grade II SD Negeri 3 Blang Mangat. This model is more effective than conventional teaching because it can create engaging, creative, and innovative learning environments.
