Abstract

The low levels of students' motivation and learning activities in mathematics have contributed to suboptimal learning outcomes. One effort to address this problem is the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model, which encourages students to think independently, discuss with a partner, and share the results of their discussion, thereby increasing student engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS)cooperative learning model on students' mathematics learning motivation and learning activities. This study employed a pre-experimental method using a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 29 students from class XI TPM 1, selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through mathematics learning motivation and learning activity questionnaires based on a Likert scale that had met the validity and reliability requirements. The data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and paired sample t-test analyses. The results showed that the mean score of learning motivation increased from 124.45 on the pretest to 150.07 on the posttest, while the mean score of learning activities increased from 136.97 to 152.48. The hypothesis testing indicated that learning motivation obtained a t-value of 12.4045 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), while learning activities obtained a t-value of 11.8632 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model has a significant effect on improving students' mathematics learning motivation and learning activities

Abstract

Abstract

Aggravated theft is one form of property crime that occupies a relatively high position in Indonesia's crime rate. Unlike ordinary theft as regulated under Article 362 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), aggravated theft is accompanied by particular circumstances that increase the offender's degree of culpability, such as being committed at night, by two or more persons acting in concert, or by breaking in or climbing into a building. This study aims to examine the meaning, elements, criminal sanctions, and criminal liability of offenders of aggravated theft under Article 363 of the KUHP. The study employs a normative juridical method using a statute approach and a conceptual approach, with data obtained through literature study of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results show that an act can only be qualified as aggravated theft when all general elements of theft under Article 362 are fulfilled together with at least one aggravating element under Article 363. The maximum penalty is seven years' imprisonment, which may increase to nine years where more than one aggravating circumstance concurs. The offender's criminal liability depends on capacity for responsibility and the absence of justification or excuse grounds, and may be extended through the concept of participation (deelneming) under Articles 55 and 56 of the KUHP. The enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in 2026 brings adjustments that warrant close attention from both law enforcement officials and legal scholars.

Abstract

The philosophy of science plays a fundamental role in forming a critical, systemic, and ethical framework for educational management. This study aims to analyze the nature and scope of the philosophy of science within the context of educational management, specifically focusing on the dimensions of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The research utilizes a literature review methodology, examining various academic sources published between 2023 and 2026 accessed via Google Scholar and Garuda. The findings indicate that the nature of the philosophy of science in educational management establishes the foundational purpose and essence of educational systems, preventing them from becoming purely mechanistic. Its scope encompasses the critical evaluation of knowledge sources (epistemology), understanding the reality of organizational structures (ontology), and applying ethical and moral values in educational leadership and policy-making (axiology). Ultimately, integrating philosophical principles enables educational managers to formulate policies grounded in scientific truth and ethical considerations, navigating dynamic social and technological transformations effectively.

Abstract

The teaching of vegetables cutting at SMK Negeri 1 Buduran has relied heavily on static materials such as printed modules and conventional slideshows, which are unable to present procedural visualizations dynamically. As a result, students struggle to distinguish the shapes, dimensions, and functions of various vegetable cutting techniques. This study aims to develop a Powtoon-based animated video learning media on vegetables cutting material, assess its feasibility based on expert evaluation, and examine students' responses to the developed media. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), implemented up to the Develop stage. The research subjects consisted of 27 tenth-grade students from the Culinary Study Program at SMK Negeri 1 Buduran. Data were collected using media expert validation sheets, content expert validation sheets, and student response questionnaires based on a Likert scale. Media expert validation yielded a mean score of 3.75, while content expert validation obtained a mean score of 3.71, both categorized as Very Feasible. Student response reached an overall average of 94.75%, classified as Very Good. Therefore, the Powtoon-based learning media on vegetables cutting material was declared valid, feasible, and positively received by Phase E students of SMK Negeri 1 Buduran.

Abstract

Independence is one of the core dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile that should be developed from the elementary school level through continuous character education. However, many students still demonstrate limited responsibility, dependence on teachers in completing tasks, and a lack of self-management in daily school activities. One strategy to address this issue is the implementation of positive habituation activities as part of the school's culture. This study aimed to describe the utilization of positive habituation activities in fostering the independence of fourth-grade students at MI An-Najwa as an effort to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The participants consisted of the principal, the fourth-grade teacher, and fourth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that positive habituation activities, such as Qur'an recitation before class, daily prayers, congregational Dhuha and Dhuhr prayers, and the independent preparation of learning and worship materials, improved students' discipline, responsibility, and independence. Therefore, positive habituation activities contribute to strengthening the independent dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile through a consistent, sustainable, and religious school culture. Keywords: positive habituation, independence, Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to analyse the characteristics and academic needs of students enrolled in the Pancasila Education course. The goal is to develop a relevant and contextual instructional system based on these findings. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five students and open-ended questionnaires via Google Forms completed by 20 students from various faculties. The results showed that most students (65%) are visual learners, 20% are kinesthetics learners, and 15% are auditory learners. The main obstacles were the dominance of the lecture method (90%) and abstract material (85%). Students expressed a desire for case-based discussion methods (100%), learning videos (85%), and contextual approaches (90%). A significant gap exists between the instructional system designed in the RPS (with 70% lecture allocation) and student needs. These findings underscore the urgent need to develop varied, interactive, and student-cantered instructional designs for Pancasila Education courses.
