Abstract

The deep learning approach plays a strategic role in enhancing the quality of learning in primary schools, particularly by fostering students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This study aims to identify the challenges involved and formulate strategies for implementing deep learning in primary school settings. To achieve this, the research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, involving a systematic analysis of scholarly articles published between 2022 and 2026. The findings indicate that key obstacles include teachers' limited understanding of deep learning concepts, varying levels of teacher readiness to apply this approach, and a lack of adequate supporting facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, identified implementation strategies include providing professional training for educators, fostering collaboration between teachers and stakeholders, optimizing the use of digital technology, and adopting student-centered learning practices. Ultimately, the successful implementation of deep learning depends heavily on teacher competence, the adequacy of facilities and infrastructure, and the support provided by school authorities and policymakers.

Abstract

This study examined the statistical effects of family social support and self-efficacy on career decision-making among Grade XI students at SMKN 40 Jakarta. The study addressed students’ uncertainty in selecting work, higher education, training, or entrepreneurship pathways after graduation. A quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. All 215 students in the accessible population were included through census sampling. Data were collected using four-point Likert questionnaires comprising 16 items of family social support, 20 items of self-efficacy, and 10 items of career decision-making, then analyzed using multiple linear regression in JASP 0.19.1.0. All 46 items were valid, and the three instruments were reliable, with Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.866, 0.891, and 0.772. Family social support had a positive and significant statistical effect on career decision-making (b = 0.186; β = 0.296; t = 4.714; p < 0.001). Self-efficacy also had a positive and significant effect (b = 0.167; β = 0.331; t = 5.275; p < 0.001). The simultaneous model was significant (F = 38.180; p < 0.001), with R² = 0.265 and adjusted R² = 0.258. Thus, both predictors explained 26.5% of the variance in career decision-making. The findings support the integration of family involvement and self-efficacy strengthening in vocational career guidance, while the cross-sectional design limits causal interpretation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the persistently low level of engagement among some students during classroom learning, evidenced by a lack of participation in asking questions, engaging in discussions, expressing opinions, and participating in learning activities. This situation is believed to be influenced by internal factors such as time management, academic stress, and achievement motivation. The study aims to determine the impact of time management, academic stress, and achievement motivation on the classroom engagement of Economic Education students (Class of 2023) at the University of Jambi. A quantitative approach utilizing the ex-post facto method was employed. The study population consisted of 112 students, with a sample of 88 students determined using Slovin's formula and proportionate random sampling. Data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis, prerequisite analysis tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) test. The results indicate that time management, academic stress, and achievement motivation each have a significant effect on classroom engagement. Simultaneously, these three variables also significantly influence student engagement. Therefore, improving time management skills, managing academic stress, and strengthening achievement motivation are necessary to enhance student engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

The focus of this study is the listening comprehension skills of class XI TET 1 students at SMK Negeri 5 Kupang in analyzing audiovisual news texts. Listening comprehension is a fundamental foundation in language learning that frequently faces challenges related to student focus and retention. Therefore, this study aims to describe the listening skills of class XI TET 1 students at SMK Negeri 5 Kupang in analyzing audiovisual news texts. Audiovisual media was utilized to attract students' interest and provide a more concrete and contextual learning experience, as students not only hear information but also observe the context and expressions supporting the message's meaning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, underpinned by Information Processing Theory and Writing Theory. Based on the data analysis regarding the students' listening ability in analyzing audiovisual news texts, the results across the elements (5W+1H) aspect revealed that 2 students (9%) achieved the "very good" category, 13 students (59%) were in the "good" category, and 7 students (31%) fell into the "fairly good" category. In the news text structure aspect, 6 students (27%) reached the "very good" category, 10 students (45%) achieved "good", 4 students (18%) were categorized as "fairly good", and 2 students (9%) fell into the "poor" category. In terms of linguistic features, 9 students (40%) scored "very good", 11 students (50%) scored "good", 1 student (4%) scored "fairly good", and 1 student (4%) scored "poor". Overall, out of the 22 students studied, 4 students (18.18%) were categorized as very good, 4 students (18.18%) as good, 7 students (31.81%) as fairly good, and 7 students (31.81%) as poor in listening to and analyzing audiovisual news texts. Collectively, these findings indicate that the listening skills of class XI TET 1 students at SMK Negeri 5 Kupang in analyzing audiovisual news texts are generally categorized as good and have successfully surpassed the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) set at 75. The implementation of audiovisual media proved highly effective in assisting students to enhance deep comprehension and strengthen memory retention when examining news text components. Based on these conclusions, the researcher presents several strategic recommendations for instructional practice. Indonesian language teachers are expected to optimize and integrate varied audiovisual learning media based on current issues relevant to students' lives. Furthermore, teachers are advised to provide targeted exercises to reinforce critical reasoning, particularly in analyzing structural components and linguistic features with higher complexity. Thus, the quality of listening instruction can be continuously and equitably improved for all students.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing and describing in detail the speaking ability of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 10 Kupang, specifically in the context of presenting arguments in the classroom through the implementation of the debate method. Speaking skills, particularly in arguing, represent an essential competence that students must master in modern language learning. The selection of the debate method as the primary learning instrument is based on its proven effectiveness in creating a dynamic, communicative, and interactive learning atmosphere. Through the debate mechanism, students are not only required to speak up bravely when expressing opinions in public, but are also encouraged to sharpen their critical thinking skills, process supporting facts, and respond to opponents' ideas with logical and structured rebuttals. Methodologically, this study applies a descriptive qualitative approach to provide an objective, comprehensive, and detailed overview of students' rhetorical performance and argument formulation in the classroom. The theoretical foundation underpinning this research combines two main pillars: speaking theory and cognitive learning theory. Integrating these two theories aims to map not only external linguistic aspects—such as fluency, grammar usage, and articulation—but also students' internal cognitive processes in constructing reasoning structures and scientific thinking frameworks when defending arguments before an audience. The data collection and comprehensive analysis were conducted on 25 students of Class XI A at SMA Negeri 10 Kupang based on seven measurable indicators of speaking skills. Empirical evaluation results revealed variations in students' speaking abilities across four main performance categories: Very Good (90–100): A total of 7 students (28%) achieved highly satisfying performance within this highest score range. Good (80–89): This group includes 5 students (20%) who demonstrated solid mastery of argumentation. Fair (75–79): There were 3 students (12%) whose scores fell right at or slightly above the passing threshold. Poor (<75): A total of 10 students (40%) remained in this category as they had not met the established qualification criteria. Overall, these findings conclude that the speaking ability of Class XI A students at SMA Negeri 10 Kupang in presenting arguments through the debate method can generally be categorized as good, with a learning mastery percentage reaching 60%. Nevertheless, the fact that 40% of the students have not reached the Minimum Mastery Criterion (MMC) of 75 highlights a real challenge in the learning process. This empirical evidence underscores the importance of continuous instructional evaluation, refined individual mentoring techniques, and the implementation of more inclusive teaching strategies so that all students can evenly optimize their oral communication potential and critical reasoning skills. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between decision making and online gambling addiction among young adults. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 200 respondents aged 18–25 years who had experience playing online gambling. The decision-making variable was measured based on the dimensions of Bounded Rationality theory, while online gambling addiction was measured based on the dimensions of non-substance addictive behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s Rho correlation test, as the normality test indicated that the data were not normally distributed. The results showed a strong, negative, and significant relationship between decision making and online gambling addiction among young adults, with a correlation coefficient (ρ) of -0.680 and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05). These findings indicate that the better an individual’s decision-making ability, the lower their tendency toward online gambling addiction, and vice versa. Additional analyses showed that gender and age did not significantly differentiate decision-making ability or online gambling addiction. These findings reinforce the relevance of Bounded Rationality theory in explaining addictive behavior and provide a basis for developing prevention and intervention strategies for young adults vulnerable to online gambling.
